Falling in love with a billionaire isn’t all it’s cracked up to be… Kent did everything right. For the first time, I couldn’t see my life without a man in it. Our relationship wouldn’t have come without challenges since we lived and worked several hours by plane from each other, but that wasn’t insurmountable. Until I found out who he really was. A billionaire that has the personal phone number of presidents and kings says he loves me – a curvy restaurant owner from a small town. Can I trust him after he hid who he was from me? If I do, how do I fit in his world of power and prestige?
This trilogy is a slow burn romance, but Liz will get her happily ever after … eventually.
Liz left Kent on learning he is a billionaire, and it wasn't the last time. Book two of three has Liz learning more about Kent's life, sadly, he isn't learning enough about her. I devoured this, like one of Liz's ice-creams. Creamy, full of surprises and delicious. Somehow, the author is convincing about a woman with little preferring to pay her own way even though her boyfriend is beyond rich. The way she digs her heels in is magnificent. Kent's blindness to her discomfort is explained logically, too. Gigi is still here, and at the end, we get an idea about her reluctance to date. We also meet Katherine, his mother, a woman who seems like a contradiction, and who supports Liz's determination to be true to herself. Yes. I loved it. Now I have to buy book three!
“Not Hidden” is the second book in a trilogy. I read the first book, “Not Bored” and really cared about the characters. Therefore I was eager to continue the story despite my intense dislike of cliffhanger novels. I wanted Liz and Gigi to find happiness but I also wanted them to seek therapy. Boy, do they have a lot of hang-ups. The more I read, the more I wanted them to tell somebody because they are their own worse enemy. I feel sorry for Kent, Liz’s billionaire boyfriend because he is left in the dark without a flashlight. I want to scream at Liz every time they have a fight and wonder why does he bother. The past is so controlling of their future that I know a good talk and cry on somebody’s couch would start the healing for them. And maybe that’s where the third book, “Not Running” is going, but maybe not. I will definitely read it to find out. I like the trilogy a lot!!! I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.
From 2 different statins in life, Liz and Kent navigate how to create a life together. Kent doesn’t get past buying gifts. Liz is stuck between wanting to figure out his world and just loving the man.
