It’s game time! Press start on FGTeeV Saves the World! , the second graphic novel in the awesome-packed, New York Times bestselling series by YouTube’s favorite family of gamers, FGTeeV! The FGTeeV family gamers really, really love playing games! But for Duddy, one game is by far Super Realistic (And Totally Not Made Up) Zombie Battles from the War of 1812 . Even though in Duddy’s opinion the updated version doesn’t stand up to the classic original, it doesn’t mean that he can’t quickly rack up all the power-ups, bonuses, and achievements to show the kids—Lexi, Mike, Chase, and Shawn—how it’s done. That is until the game freezes! The family heads to the Shady Acres Mall to fix their controller, but while at the game store, one wrong click causes all the characters from the Zombie Battles game to explode into the real world. It’s total mayhem! Now Duddy, Moomy, Lexi, Mike, Chase, and Shawn have to fight their own avatars in order to save the world—but will they be able to stop the army of world-conquering video game villains before the bad guys level up? Game like you never gamed before in the fun-filled second graphic novel adventure from YouTube sensation FGTeeV, with more than 18 MILLION subscribers and over 18.6 BILLION views!
It was a good book. I like the book because of it rising action, climax, and funny moments. The book had a lot of interesting characters. I liked the ending because the final battle toke place in a bridge and the dogs came rushing in defeating the food villains. Overall, I like how the whole family worked together to defeat the video game character that came to the real world.

I promised a couple of kids at the library that I would try their favorite graphic novels. I enjoyed it about as much as I expected, but this book is not written for a middle aged woman. The kids are playing an updated video game that was the dad's favorite. Dad is appalled that the game has been changed so much, and agrees to play when the boys challenge him. Mom bought the daughter new jeans that are supposed to look too toddler-ish, but she only decides that after she has them on. The dog head buts the controller as of the video game and causes it to freeze, so the whole family goes to the mall to see if the video store can fix it. Cue many jokes about kids not knowing what a mall is, and that only elderly people go to one. It happens to be the parents' anniversary, so they are encouraged to relive their courtship sans kids, who decide to buy them a gift. Of course the cool girls see, and comment on, the daughter wearing said babyish pants. The neighbor kid is in the video game store and mentions that the family has a game that brings characters to life. The clerk opens that file, and the avatars of the family are unleashed and wreck the mall. The family, including the dog, have to fight back. I watch a fair amount of youtubers, but not this genre. I plan to check out this channel to talk more intelligently to my young customers, but pretty sure I won't be reading any more in this series.
I give this book 5 stars not because we read it all within 5 days with much excitement for my son but because of the experience he had of hearing it mentioned in a Youtube video (he only knew this family for their music) where they said "Find this book anywhere where books are sold".
Later that day, we found ourselves (unplanned) at a book store during loadshedding, and my son found the book in a darkened corner far away from the popular books and lit up like a Katy Perry singular firework. He located the correct genre aisle, he skimmed through the titles, he pulled the book out and his eyes glittered!
He is used to the things he liked not being available in South Africa. Such a bummer. So he really had the "find a gem in a bookstore" experience, and the book lived to his expectations. It was a joy for me to see him have this without engineering on my behalf in the background. Life just gave him a win on a tough day. It didn't matter that it was the 2nd book in the series, we followed the story just fine.
Super quick-read. This was being promoted at my school’s book fair. Apparently this is a real-life gaming family who also has a graphic novel series? I’m not sure what the age of the target audience is for this book/series but would say maybe middle grades depending on reading ability? It takes a bit to figure out where the storyline is going, but I think it would definitely grab the intended audience’s interest and relatability . There are some plot holes but again it’s likely geared towards middle grade ages, so I doubt they would even notice. I think it alludes to other books in its series but not so much where it can’t stand alone on its own. Not to the best graphic novel but would be of high interest I would think.
A family saves the world from video game avatars that threaten to take over the real world. I didn't realize this was made by a family of famous YouTube Gamers, so that sours me on it a bit. It's perfectly adequate, I guess? The story hangs together well enough (much better than others I've read lately, if I'm being honest), and the characters are nicely drawn, though it's not at all original. I don't think that you need to know the YouTubers to enjoy the book, but I expect it's mostly going to be bought by fans, and since none of my students have ever mentioned them, we're probably going to pass.
My kids LOVE this YouTube channel, so when I found their books, I immediately bought them to encourage more reading. Any time I can find books on the things they're interested in, I'll buy them in a second. These were fun and silly and worked great for my son's dyslexia, thanks to the graphic novel style of writing/graphics. The boys loved it, and that's what matters, but it's not normally my cup of tea.
Loved this book like the first book I loved the diss track/diss it was really good and fun some same characters from the first book and some different so 5 out of 5 and it’s in a mall and Lexi chase Mike and Shawn are looking for a gift for duddy and moomy fun please read I will read this again soon really good

Not even half of the book is fighting scenes and most of it is spent with moomy and duddy just spending time with each other.
I really don't recommend the physical copy of the book because I had to return it due to 10 - 15 pages ripping off so I'd rather you buy the digital copy.
I read the first book and still have it to this day so just read that.

I really liked the adventure they went on and how all the pictures were very accurate in the book. I would let everyone read this book because if little kids read it they can just look at the photos in the book.
I like this book because FGteev Is the best gaming channel I have ever seen If you watch it make sure to like subscribe and hit the notification bell And watch even more videos Of Fgteev. Hopefully you Like it.
This book was amazing! (the pants looked amazing on Lexi) I love the dogs too. The art was amazing! my favorite part was probably when Oreo played dead to get to the house lol, it is just a great book all together!
It was a bit disappointing to read this, as it feels somewhat repetitive of the last book or a few books before, and has a similar plot. Other than that, it was a good book. Additionally, it does not relate to the FGTeeV YouTube channel, unless you are discussing the gaming aspect.
Read this to my nephew. It was the plot equivalent of falling into a chuck e. cheese ball pit and being unable to get free. But the kiddo likes it. Lots of action :)
