It was refreshing to read a counter-cultural, but biblically true, book on the roles of a wife! I think that all women, whether single, dating, engaged, or married (whether it’s joyful or not) would benefit from understanding God’s commands for & design of a wife. Although some of the points are blunt and black & white, I think there is so much “fluff” and complacency about the covenant of marriage in the world today.
3 stars because I would have preferred some of the points to be communicated/structured/argued differently, but that’s a personal preference.
This was a great book and not just for a marriage in shambles. Convicting, compelling, and encouraging reminder of the blessing of marriage in obedience to God in showing respect, honor, and love to our husbands — even, and especially, when we don’t feel like it. This will be on the shelf (alongside some others) for my daughters prior to marriage one day. I want them to see how tragedy can unfold in marriage, as well as, redemption - so they can focus more on the measures that redeem, from the very beginning of the most treasured relationship we will have earth side.
Loved this book. This was the first time I read a book about ideal expectations/ practices of a biblical wife and didn't want to roll my eyes the whole time. Natasha explains being a biblical wife so well, and has many tools you can utilize. I thought her story was vulnerable and raw, which made following along with her ideas and advice so much easier considering she's actually been through it. It sparked great conversation with my husband too, as we processed how we can better love and serve each other. 5/5 stars from me!
This book couldn't have find at a better times than this times we are in! Today women don't know how to fight for their marriage because the unity of family has been attacked in years society. Men are emasculated and not allowed to lead in their homes the way God intends. The Wise Wife Blueprint calls us back to the word and shows us how to stand in the gap for our husband and our marriages!
I really appreciated Natasha’s sensitive and humble approach to this topic.
I don’t agree with her interpretation of Ephesians 5 or definition of submission (in fact she doesn’t give any actual theological arguments/hermeneutics for her interpretation). If you are looking for an academic analysis of submission, this book isn’t for you. However, this is an incredible story of how God can redeem a broken marriage.
Despite our theological difference, I am inspired by her testimony of forgiveness amidst unthinkable circumstances.
Highly recommend!!! For any woman wants to grow as a wife! Some of it was definitely geared toward those facing serious problems, but most was applicable for any woman seeking to grow in honoring and uplifting her husband. Loved this.
