Comanche Conflict

Rate this book
BULLETS, BLOOD, DEATH AND VENGEANCE FILLED THE VALLEY AS BITTER ENEMIES CLASHED.

Gabe and company spent the winter with the Mouache Ute but the buffalo hunt was watched by a hunting party of Yaparuhka Comanche. That hunting party soon became a raiding party and the blood began to flow.

When the Northern Arapaho descend on the plains, the bitter enemies of the Comanche riled the warriors bent on vengeance to attack the Arapaho, and warriors died. But the cry for vengeance was directed at the white man and his people that were responsible for the deaths of Comanche warriors.

The quest for vengeance was misdirected and again the stench of death would fill the air.

Bob Rundell – Stonecroft Saga Bk 14 – Comanche Conflict – Reviewed 3/3/21 – Read 2/26/21

Gabe’s family faces vengeance as it enters their valley, while Ezra’s leg recovers!

Gabe and his family have spent the winter with the Mauache Ute and joined them on their Spring buffalo hunt. Unfortunately, Ezra met up with a particularly mean bull that decided to take his tormentor with him, leaving Ezra with some serious shoulder wounds and a fractured leg. Shortly after the hunt, the Utes left for their summer camp.

A couple of nights later Wolf woke Gabe up alerting him that they had company. When he and Cougar Woman followed Wolf, they found that a few Comanche braves were trying to steal their horses. The three of them take down four of the braves, but one gets away. When they checked the fallen men, they found that one of them lived and most likely could recover with medical treatment. They take the young brave back to their cabin, and Cougar Woman doctored him.

The next day they explained to the brave that they would bury his friends for him. The young man, White Knife, wanted to go with them even though he had a hard time understanding why they would tend to the men. After finding a place that would suit their needs, they laid out the braves and covered them with dirt and rock. Afterward, Gabe told White Knife that if he were well enough the next day, he could take all the horses and return to his camp. White Knife was baffled, he knew that he was a captive, so he could not believe that this was true. Gabe told him that they were not his enemies, they had only defended their family and property. It was the same thing that he would do if things had been reversed.

White Knife then told them that he would explain all of this to his father, Old Owl, the leader of his village. But he must leave today, as the one that escaped would be telling the village that he was dead, and he did not want his mother and father to mourn him.

And the story begins…

What did I like? Unbelievable, I have been reading this series since the beginning, and I know that Bob outdid himself with this one. The incredible message that he has included in his narrative is one that certainly is needed in this day and time. This is one of the major things that I love about Bob’s books. Each one expresses that need for us to accept others, not as enemies but as friends, and to treat them as such. Never has it been said better than in this scenario. I do not want to spoil the story for you, but there is a part that will just blow you away, showing it is not necessary to receive credit for doing the right thing and treating people like your friend, no matter who or what nationality they are. Bob imparted this with such grace that it will blow you away.

What will you like? Lead flying, death fighting, ambushes, raiding parties, accidents, injuries abound, and so much more! This was an astounding storyline, so beautifully written, imparting so much meaning and love with it. Bob is an incredible storyteller and each one of his books will capture your heart, with his special way of sharing his love for nature and his creator. His descriptions will bring to life the beauty of the land, the awe-inspiring sunrises, and when the day is done the skies ablaze with the setting sun. The wildlife, the devotion of friends and animals, and the discovery of new friends. Reading his words, so carefully researched for accuracy, it will all come alive for you too. He will motivate you to share your love with those around you and to appreciate your surroundings. Through his words, he gives you the insight to help you through the tough times, and even when you find it is necessary to defend yourself against your enemies. Bob’s books will be a great addition to every Library. This book will be available on March 10, 2021, so mark your calendar!

Very good story telling

Fun read immersed in a life dependent on God and living with accountability and responsibility. The Bible says, "...do whatever is right, be merciful and walk humbly with your Creator." Rundell envelops us with these basic principles in a story of intrigue and satisfying adventure. Makes for a fun story. I intend to read more of Rundell's works.

In book 14 Ezra is injured early in a buffalo hunt. Which leaves most of the book centered around Gabe and Cougar.

I wrote a lengthy review on finishing the 15th book of this series to tell the readers
that this is an amazing series that should be read from book 1 to book 15.
If you do this, the reader will be on a whirlwind ride of their life and will
be immersed into another world that we only have touched the edges of.
Every book of the 15 in this series is amazing. You will not regret starting
this series, I promise you.
