The winds of change are blowing over Coconut Key…and nothing will ever be the same. When tourist season ends, the next one begins…and hurricane season is never easy in the Keys. Especially when the winds have blown in a man who threatens everything Beck has built over the last few months in Coconut Key.
The newest arrival might be the contractor Beck’s been longing to find…but he’s also a man from her past. With his attention on her as much as the B&B renovation, this new twist is equal parts thrilling and terrifying. Beck’s son, Kenny, is working through own personal trials, and daughter Savannah inches toward a tenuous relationship with her soon-to-be-born baby’s father.
But all eyes turn to the skies as a major hurricane bears down on Coconut Key, bringing everyone together for one heart-stopping night of trauma, drama, and close calls. And if they survive what Mother Nature throws at them, what will be left of the life they’ve all been building on the beach?
Another fast read, as I did not put this book down! This series gets better with each book. I love this family saga, and with each book, our house fills a few more rooms. I am not even having a hard time keeping up with who is who. Our contractor has arrived, and we can now get more work done towards opening the B&B. Hurricane season blows through and brings a new family together. Questions are being answered, but we need to read the next book to get answers to the new questions that have cropped up!
Thank you to Booksprout and the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
I’ve read several books by this author. I’ve enjoyed them, but this one was a little heavy on religion. If that’s going to be a central theme, then it should be tagged that way so people know going in.
This series just seems to get better and better. Normally, I like a little more steam with the books that I read, but this family has just sucked me in. Sometimes, when there are a lot of characters, it’s hard to remember them and to keep up with all of their situations. But, the way Ms Holloway writes them, it’s very easy, it makes you want to see what’s going to happen next with everyone. They all have different personalities, situations, and are at different points in their life. There is nothing better than finding a new series of books that you can’t put down and can’t wait for the next one!
Another amazing and heartwarming read. I loved all the excitement in this story that kept you wondering what would happen next. Can’t wait to read the next book!
A Season in the Keys (Coconut Key book 3) is, in my opinion, the best in the series so far! The “season” is hurricane season, when tourists leave and locals weatherproof their houses, but it could also be called “Decisions” in the Keys because each character must decide the next step. Lovely must decide whether to stay in her cottage despite the “evacuation, shmevacuation” order by the state. Peyton must decide how to tell Jessie that she persuaded Tag Jadrien, her rival chef and would-be buyer, to write the introduction to the cookbook Peyton is helping her publish. Savannah must decide what arrangements to make with Nick, her baby’s father, who wants to be an involved dad but lives in LA as a famous Netflix actor. Beck must decide between Bill, Kenny’s biological father who’s come back into her life as General Contractor for the B&B renovation and flirts with her unceasingly, and Jessie’s brother Josh, the kind master woodworker whose approach isn’t as slick as Bill’s but whom Beck trusts fully. Kenny must decide whether to rekindle the faith he abandoned after his Jesus-loving wife died. And the whole family must name Savannah’s baby! Some of the above decisions are made easily; some are more complex; and some (like the baby’s name) are nearly impossible! Kenny’s faith struggle is not as out-front as the others, but its impact is far-reaching. The night Coconut Key is hit by a hurricane provides answers to many questions and makes certain decisions easier to make. As everyone huddles in the rental where Kenny and Ava will live, Ava confronts her father about not reading her the Bible like her mom did. Beck drives back to Coquina House on an errand and finds Bill frantic about a financial hole he’s gotten into so he can put his alcoholic ex-wife into specialized rehab; she takes him back to Kenny’s and sees Josh, who thought she was “with” Bill and is extremely happy to know she’s not. Savannah’s baby responds to the dropping barometric pressure by sending her into labor 3 weeks early, with Nick still working in LA. The days after the storm give everyone clarity about their respective dilemmas. Beck chooses Josh, Bill chooses to work ethically rather than juggling job payments, Kenny chooses to pray, Jessie chooses to forgive Peyton for talking to Tag without asking her first. Lovely chose (wisely) to go to Kenny’s and now must choose how to repair her badly damaged cottage. Ava chooses to embrace joy rather than panic, thanks to her dad’s choice to return to his faith. The only unresolved decisions are Savannah’s: how to handle Nick and what to name the baby. Those resolutions come at the end, though, so you need to read the whole book to find out! I found the depiction of the stormy night, complete with a power outage and a terrified first-time mom in preterm labor, suspenseful and the unfolding of Kenny’s dormant faith beautiful, as he refused to give in to temptation and withstood ridicule. Ava’s comment about there being 3 people at the head of her family—Kenny, his late wife Elise, and God—hit home for this wife who longs for her children to say that about her family. And Savannah’s nickname for her son takes the cake (or pickle)! Very highly recommended.
I know what I want to write, but not too sure to go about it. And I certainly hope not too many spoiler alerts. When I first read the reviews on this particular book in the series, someone wrote (and I'm writing from my interpretation of someone else's review) that it started to get too religious & preachy & it just wasn't for her. I am so very glad I decided to keep reading & see for myself if religion was being forced on me... and I am happy I did. YES there was a bit of religion going in dealing with Ava's mother & Kenny's wife....BUT...(how do I put this), the world today, in2022, is VERY VERY sad. Between the happenings in the Ukraine and the almost daily mass shootings in the US, I do not see the problem with writing about a character's feelings about religion. It's like to me reading a hot & heavy sex scene, I by pass it. And you know what???? I have also just a couple of times have put down the book. Know what??? I just answered my own question..... that's my prerogative... just like it was that other reviewer's. We can make our own decisions. I'm glad I made mine & I look forward to the next book in the series. Too each their own. Happy Reading!! ENJOY!!! MARY C
I have been worried about Josh and Beck. Do they have what it takes to move their relationship forward? In walks the bio- dad and all his flirting. Not sure what to think. Then Savannah is on bed rest and he house gets jostled to accompany her. I am not sure what to think of the celebrity dad as we don’t get much backstory on him. And Maggie well she just wanted a good time either way Kenny, but that seemed rather pushy but she had her reasons as did he. Having him find out he needed God in his life was what will really start to heal the hole in his heart. No surprise baby drama come up as several people commented that it was a “thing “ with storms.. I can’t wait for the next drama/ book!!
Loved it and cried through the last 40 pages! Many new issues and characters happen to our dynamic 4 generations of women! Some are settled and some just raise more issues! My biggest disappointment is that the next book is several weeks wait. My frustration is primarily that this series is a continuing saga, with one starting where previous one ends----- similar to the serials in monthly magazines many years ago. I prefer to wait until entire series is published to start reading. There are also editing and continuity errors in the first 3 books that need correction
I’ve become so invested in this family! Another winner! Another amazing installment in this series set in the Florida Keys!
All these relationships are moving ahead with so much beauty — no crazy angst, so much love, great characters. The threat of a hurricane has the group preparing hard and ends with a surprise arrival.
I was getting antsy about Beck and where her heart was leading her — the truth about yet another secret comes out and once again it’s handled perfectly. I’m totally on Team Beck and Josh! So much to look forward to and so much love to discover! Another winner!
I loved reading A Season in the Keys(Coconut Key Book 3)!!! All about the Foster sisters, their mom Becca, their Grandmother Lovely, Ken Gallagher, his daughter Ava, his biological Dad Bill Dobson & Nick Frye the baby’s dad. This is the third book in the series, where Bill comes down to be the GC on the Renovation for the new B&B. Also Savannah’s baby daddy Nick Frye comes to help celebrate her thirty’th all while she’s on full bed rest. This series is very hard to put down, the entire clan will hold your attention from page one to the last page!!! I can’t wait to read book four!!!

There is never a dull moment for Beck's and her family and friends and things have gotten a little more tangled with the arrival of Bill. I worry for Savannah and whether she will stay or leave while under the spell of the baby daddy, as well and what will happen between Kenny and Maggie and then there is Bill.... well I know how I feel about Bill and I feel like we should all tread carefully with him! I am absolutely loving this series and can not wait for the next book to see where things will go next for everyone!
This series just gets better and better! While the author does a good job of filling in the gaps if this is the first book in the series a reader picks up, I recommend reading them from the beginning! The story is fast paced and full of action. The characters are delightful and a bit quirky. I wish I could move to Coconut Key and spend time with them! There is drama, emotion, fun, laughter, tears, friendships, romance, and above all else, family. This is enchanting and heartwarming entertainment!
This is a wonderful series that keeps getting better with each book! Season in the Keys is book 3 and the reader gets to see the characters evolve and meet some new characters, a past lover and a movie star. There is plenty excitement with changes to the inn, struggles at the resteraunt, a hurricane and of course much love. Looking forward to more from this author and this series!

Just finished A Season in the Keys. What an absolutely fantastic book! So much is changing in everyone's life. Plans are being made for a B&B, Savanah is having a baby, and Kenny and Ava are staying in the Keys. But look out, just when things look to be going okay, Florida weather decides to show itself with Hurricane Dylan. What changes will the hurricane bring to everyone's life? Can't wait to read book four.
Family is everything when they can all pull together the bonds get stronger. Learning who your son that was adopted right after birth is and his daughter to welcome to your family is amazing. Then bring in the guy who was the father to the boy is astonishing. Getting everyone up to Parr on the whole thing turned out to be amazing. Add in other family drama and a hurricane and you have a great story.
Another five-star read from the pen of Hope Holloway. Beck and Savannah, the rest of the family, including Nick, welcome Dylan..all five pounds of him. As the mystery deepens with Jessie, what will Peyton do with Tag? Will Bill remain in Coconut Keys, permanently? So many questions and all the answers are in the words of this exceptional novel.
Another great book. Again I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what will happen next. Hope Holloway does an amazing job with book 3. Family is strong and handles everything thrown at them. Secrets, forgiveness and Hurricane season is upon them. As well as the storm that brings damage, it also brings a new member to the family. A baby boy.

I liked the story and enjoyed reading it. I did think there were a lot of word, sentences and paragraphs the could have been left out without affecting the story. I think the first book in this series was the best story, but I’m sure the books to follow will be good. There is some light swearing in this book.
I’m absolutely in love with these Coconut Key books. They are silly, romantic, a bundle of cliches and I love them. They are almost, not quite , predictable, but so very charming. A grandmother, daughter, and grandchildren saga that endears to the heart. Can’t wait to start the next book.
There was an abundance of exciting news traveling in the keys . It's one big happy family and tied to coconut key .. I enjoyed the characters ability to make you laugh out loud , cherry them on and cry with happiness . Makes you want to pack a bag and head to coconut key.
And it just keeps getting BETTER. I stayed up all night reading until the very last page. Yes, I’m tired but I couldn’t stop turning. I’m so connected to these characters. 3 books down and I only love this crew more. I love every second of being in Coconut Key with them, sun shining hot and emotions running high. I can’t get enough of this series. Feeling all the feels.
Found these books and binge reading! I love this family. I love that the author is truly putting family above everything else. I love her way of writing that don’t throw stupid barricades in getting people together. They talk and they work it out. Beck and her family are truly amazing.
I was enjoying this series well enough at first. I noticed the occasional mention of Christianity, but it was no big deal. Until this book. Now all of a sudden it's constant proselytizing. Book 3 has a real holier-than-thou tone and I don't like it. If that's your thing and you don't mind the constant typos, you'll probably enjoy this series.
The Coconut ers are on yet another journey as Bill shows up yes that Bill Kenny's dad and boss. Seems Bill found Kenny some time ago and has been working with Kenny!. Ava and Kenny decide to stay as does Bill...Savannah has her baby early....read to find out more.
I really enjoyed this series of books by Hope Holloway. I listened to them on Audible while I was knitting, and it was really enjoyable to have someone reading a story to me while I worked on my knitting project. The narrator is the same for the entire series and she is very good. I highly recommend this series of books.
The story of Bec and her ever-growing family is threatened to be destroyed by several people and things, including a hurricane. Hurricanes are rare on this little key at the end of the chain. But all at once Coconut Key is in the path of a strong hurricane. Can Bec and her family find shelter and waver the storms ahead? A continued easy read of this series.
So far, this series has been fantastic — packed with twists and turns that keep me hooked from start to finish. I love how each character has their own storyline, and every plot line feels equally engaging. I can’t wait to dive into the next book and see what surprises are in store!
