Science Fiction lovers, read this
Consuming Romance is a story from future (2143) which starts from the authoritarian lifestyle of the people on the red plant i.e Mars. People on this planet are bound to live within walls of their houses, where Amor; the leader instruct them what to do & when to do through the technology. Looking upon the larger part of this weird lifestyle, that is when people were made to sit and watch a sequence of romance, daily.
People on Mars are not recognised with any gender, rather everyone here is indicated as the plural; which was actually sort of confusing in the beginning, but it got fluent after few pages. The story takes a dip, when suddenly an error in system freed all the beings and they stepped out of those walls in a larger open area. That was the place where Alpha and Delta first met; with all the unanswered questions and lot of confusion, finally Gamma’s arrival led them all to Earth.
Taking the path of a conical shape, the story takes the weirdness to the peak and then quench that thrust with rather a basic logical answer in the end. The metaphors used, to indicate what humans are capable of doing to our mother earth in upcoming years is concerning; author bought the crucial issues of current times, like how deep we are in the pit of technology, how deeply we are effecting the climate etc; through his character’s conversations. The love story between Alpha and Delta was naïve and it went all in a woof, when the story takes a sudden twist.
Writing is general yet engrossing. By mixing the science and love part, author made his story stand out. I will recommend this to all the Sci-fi lover; go ahead mess your head and then in the end, you will surely like it.
