What happened? So disappointed with lack of content.
First let me say I am a fan of this author and have read most of her books and normally would never give this low a rating but this book, I don’t understand what this is or was. It was inexpensive so I expected the brevity but I was left confused about the point of the book - was it meant to be an introduction to the series perhaps? That said, the first half was fact after fact with limited content to connect us to the series at all and then when it picked up, it ended. I am not sure even if it could work as a free book without some sort of warning to the reader.

Quest (Warlock Coven Book 1)- Victoria Dannan
This novella is meant to be just a taste of the series by one of my favorite authors, Victoria Dannan. The Warlock coven was mentioned in the Wemberly Series and they most definitely return to alpha hot and ready for action. Suffering from ennui living an immortal life, a challenge has been painstakingly put together to find seven magical mysterious powerful objects. The warlocks are each paired with a witch and then the real fun begins. This novella’s focus is on Bell and Aodh. The players are all ready, I can’t wait for the action to begin. The objects to be collected are all fabulous and intriguing, the couples pairings have all possibilities explosive, hot and funny. The series opener is an awesome tease promising a great series ahead.

Quest by V. Danann is the first book in the new Warlock Coven Series. It's the introduction to the characters and the story in general.
For best reading experience I recommend to read Witches of Wimberley, first. There I already met quite a few of the characters.
But back to Quest. 7 warlords, 7 challenges, 7 artifacts, - sounds good? Yes, it does. This short story makes me want to read the first novel like just right now. Rally and Wednesday, Aodh and his assigned partner -sorry not sorry, no spoliers here.
I recommend this excellent written story, 5 stars.

Great Introduction to a New Series
This was like a prequel or background to a new series. Seven warlock men are, quite frankly, bored. They are looking for a distraction, and one suggests a very interesting adventure. This book introduces many of the major characters, what the adventure, competition really, is all about, and what will be the prizes for the winning teams. This book takes us up to the morning the competition begins. It sounds very interesting to me. I already preordered the next book.

I had a lot of challenge working through the first chapter. I am new to this series so I felt like the first chapter assumed things that I didn't know or have background on. However, once I got past the first chapter, I flew through the book. this is more like an intro novel - you can read it in a short sitting - so looking forward to the next book and seeing how the quest progresses. Enjoyed it once I got past the first chapter. 3.5 stars.

What a great introduction to a new series! Warlocks in a contest with others, well that can spell big trouble or an adventure of a lifetime. Love it! This is a short, fast read but with a build up of what’s to come. It was very entertaining like all of Victoria Danann’s books. I can’t wait for the next book.

What a delightful beginning to a game played for significant prizes with potential deadly risks! When warlocks are paired with other paranormal beings to race in an assigned pair, anything could happen. The characters are engaging and funny. Faithful readers of this author know the world building in her books is masterful and this one promises to be no exception!

Loved the Warlock Coven. They are a fun loving bunch, and had me laughing and smiling. This is going to be a fantastic series. These guys are definitely a merry bunch with a witty sense of humor. They are off on a race which is going to be totally amusing and entertaining. I can't wait for the rest of this story.

Good follow on to the Witches of Wimberley although it had been a while since the last book in that series so I had a little trouble catching up to who's who. Good plot, great dialog (Victoria Danann never disappoints there), and a good intro to the rest of the series. I just wish the next book would be out sooner.

A fine beginning
This appears to be the start of a very interesting new series from Ms. Danann. The Warlock coven has been briefly introduced in prior Wimberley stories and are unique characters in and of themselves. It should be a fun ride.

A great start
This is the prequel or the start of a new series by this author. I have read every series she has penned. Books are always fresh and unpredictable with a wicked sense of humor, and all the feels. Cant wait.

Loved it
This was a great intro into this new world! I know just from reading this novella that the series will be action packed. Can't wait until the next full version book is released. Victoria Dannan has done it again. She captured my attention and made me want more!

This was a great start to the Warlock Coven series. Looks to be quite a bit different with a race to see who gets to each of the seven artefacts. Intriguing, entertaining and I can’t wait to see what this new world brings us !

Interesting Characters and a Fun Concept.
I really love the banter between the characters. This has great potential for a series. Although I’m not particularly fond of the cliffhanger ending, I would love to find out what happens next.

Very Different
So many stories of quests begin with the game and then the teams. Here the character of each member is emerging in story that has a practical impact.
I like the strengths of each member and their partner as equals in knowledge and uncertainty.

This should've been the first chapter in the actual book. Or a prologue. Doesn't stand on it's own as a book at 60 pages. It's an intro to the new series only.

This introduction to the Second Sursolid Warlock Coven started out mellow, then quickly picks up interest, and then leaving you needing to know what's going to happen.
