Review to come on insta, but I’ll say this: if there’s one book everyone should read, it’s this one. The tale of a funeral director. I’ve learned so much, about decomposing bodies, the process after someone dies, the care of the body, the conversations with the families, the rituals, the respect, the process in its entirety. Interspersed with a great sense of humor and charming jokes, this book turned out to be a pleasure to read, even with the gory bits!
Tor-Håkon also turned out to be a very kind, open young man who seems wiser beyond his years. I’ve talked a bit with him on Instagram and he shows, both in the book and as a conversationalist, that being forthcoming and kind, with every weird question that pops up is the key and that a funeral directors job never stops. They deserve our respect and eternal gratitude, even after we’ve passed on... <3
