Meet Damian Jay Clay and Andrew J Savage, two formerly respectable and marginally talented writers who joined forces in 2020 with the ill-fated mission of bringing you exciting speculative fiction. Based in the UK and Japan, these two work from the comfort of their virtual office on Discord--but be warned, they are now at my mercy, a vengeful being determined to punish them for their crimes against literature. Will they escape my matrix and save themselves, or will they ultimately be fully assimilated and destroyed? Find out on zzadams website and join my newsletter to stay updated on their fate. Muhahahaha...Haha!
Listed as a YA novel, but this adult thoroughly enjoyed it. The overall scenario has horrific climate change about to make the planet unlivable. For most people, life is a constant struggle to find jobs and keep families fed. There are organizations building underground communities and creating enhanced children to survive the coming devestation. The organizations are also creating chaos in order to manipulate the populace. These enhanced kids are trying to find their place in a world where where several menacing (and some not so) groups are trying to use the children for their own purposes. They've all been on their own, for different and horrifying reasons, for quite some time. As they find each other they are given answers about their enhancements. They're also learning to understand and to use their enhancements for the good of all. I really like the way these kids form a family and how they help each other emotionally and physically. All of them have endured terrible things and they are struggling to find an organization in which to place their trust. The novel is a real page turner with lots of action. Are the kids safe with Athena or with the agency that created them? They face all the obstacles with courage and a belief in one another. In spite of the horror the authors have placed all around these children, there is hope in their hearts. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
I think this is the third book I picked up from them. Yes, them—two magnificent authors that merge their creativity into one pot. Let me ask you a question. How does it feel to be invisible? The story revolves around a teenager, Oscar. He has the psychic ability to cloak himself by suggesting his thoughts and projecting them onto others. Hence total invisibility in his solid form. To up his ante, he can also will any of his friends to be invisible. His friends also have psychic abilities with even more unique attributes. My mind is blown. If I have more than two thumbs to show my appreciation, I'd gladly offer them. Do my two big toes count?
The story revolves around a group of kids who have extraordinary powers. Full of action, suspense and intrigue Al throughout the story. I highly recommend this story.
Very interesting premise. Two separate groups of people trying to do the same thing, but for different reasons. Fast paced. In my humble opinion, a great book.
