Walter Elias “Walt” Disney (December 5, 1901 – December 15, 1966) was an American film producer, director, screenwriter, voice actor, animator, entrepreneur, entertainer, international icon, and philanthropist. Disney is famous for his influence in the field of entertainment during the 20th century. As the co-founder (with his brother Roy O. Disney) of Walt Disney Productions, Disney became one of the best-known motion picture producers in the world. The corporation he co-founded, now known as The Walt Disney Company, today has annual revenues of approximately U.S. $35 billion.

Disney is particularly noted for being a film producer and a popular showman, as well as an innovator in animation and theme park design. He and his staff created some of the world's most famous fictional characters including Mickey Mouse, a character for which Disney himself was the original voice. He has been awarded four honorary Academy Awards and has won twenty-two competitive Academy Awards out of fifty-nine nominations, including a record four in one year, giving him more awards and nominations than any other individual. He also won seven Emmy Awards. He is the namesake for Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort theme parks in the United States, as well as the international resorts Tokyo Disney, Disneyland Paris, and Disneyland Hong Kong.

Disney died of lung cancer in Burbank, California, on December 15, 1966. The following year, construction began on Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. His brother Roy Disney inaugurated the Magic Kingdom on October 1, 1971.

The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS) (commonly referred to as Disney) is the largest media and entertainment conglomerate in the world in terms of revenue. Founded on October 16, 1923, by brothers Walt Disney and Roy Disney as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, the company was reincorporated as Walt Disney Productions in 1929. Walt Disney Productions established itself as a leader in the American animation industry before diversifying into live-action film production, television, and travel. Taking on its current name in 1986, The Walt Disney Company expanded its existing operations and also started divisions focused upon theatre, radio, publishing, and online media. In addition, it has created new divisions of the company in order to market more mature content than it typically associates with its flagship family-oriented brands.

The company is best known for the products of its film studio, the Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group, today one of the largest and best-known studios in Hollywood. Disney also owns and operates the ABC broadcast television network; cable television networks such as Disney Channel, ESPN, and ABC Family; publishing, merchandising, and theatre divisions; and owns and licenses 11 theme parks around the world. On January 23, 2006, it was announced that Disney would purchase Pixar in an all-stock transaction worth $7.4 billion. The deal was finalized on May 5. On December 31, 2009, Disney Company acquired the Marvel Entertainment, Inc. for $4.24 billion. The company has been a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average since May 6, 1991. An early and well-known cartoon creation of the company, Mickey Mouse, is the official mascot of The Walt Disney Company.

Esse livro é a versão em quadrinho dos três primeiros episódios de Gravity Falls.
Já tinha ouvido falar sobre esse desenho, mas o meu primeiro contato com ele e com os personagens foi por meio desse livro e eu ADOREI!
Enquanto lia a primeira história, interrompi para assistir o primeiro episódio. Quando percebi que ele estava contando exatamente o que eu tinha lido, pausei e terminei de ler o livro. Foi uma experiência muito legal. Já quero os outros volumes e me empolguei para assistir todos os episódios :)

This is one of the books based on a show called Gravity Falls. The show and book is about an adventure of twins named mable and dipper that go to a town called gravity falls to spend time with there gruncle Stan (great uncle Stan). During this adventure mable and dipper find out that this town has lots of mysteries like gnomes, vampires, bill cypher who is from another dimension, etc. these twins and there friends soos and Wendy plus gruncle Stan try to fight off these creatures. With the help of a journal about these creatures that dipper finds he can defeat the creatures and trying to find out who the author is. But at the end of everything there gruncle ford is brought back to gravity falls from another dimension with the secret help of gruncle Stan and then I'll cypher takes over gravity falls and dipper finds out that gruncle ford is the author of the journal. This book only has the three first episodes but there is more than this one book so go out watch the show or find the other books.

My favorite part in this book is in the 3rd episode gruncle Stan had mable make a wax figure of him but when his wax figure is destroyed dipper and mable tell him they will find out who did it and gruncle Stan starts yelling for them to avenge him.

I would suggest this book to people who like mystery, adventure, and humor.

Now all I have to say is welcome to Gravity Falls!!!

Fun Somehow!

I didn’t watch the show, but I may..

I bought it mainly because it wasn’t that expensive and it also got a sale, so I turned out to give it to my younger brother, but I decided not to... I feel like Disney always but something in their works that isn’t “appropriate” for kids, WHY!

YO SOY MABEL, QUE RIMA CON PAPEL!!
Es difícil para mi calificar este libro, debido a que es un cómic de los capítulos de la serie que yo ya vi, por tanto no había cosas novedosas, giros inesperados o chistes que no conociera.
Creo que como novela gráfica funciona, evidentemente está dirigida a un público más infantil, y por la misma razón pienso que resulta entretenida, aunque no niego que se disfruta más cuando ya conoces la serie, y puedes leerla imaginando las voces, las expresiones o incluso te ríes por adelantado, porque ya sabes lo que viene.
En caso de que ustedes no conozcan Gravity Falls, esta es una serie creada por Disney que nos cuenta las aventuras de verano de los hermanos Pines, Dipper y Mabel, a quienes los envían a pasar esa temporada con su tío abuelo Stan, y tras distintos acontecimientos, descubren que en el pueblo de Gravity Falls, pasan cosas fuera de lo común y que son difíciles de explicar.
El cómic está basado en esta serie y es básicamente el traspaso de los capítulos a un libro. Este hecho no le resta puntos al libro, solo que como ya conocía la historia, no me sorprendí en demasía.

This book did a great job at capturing the silliness this TV show is known and loved for! I'm only giving it 3 stars because the stories are word for word with the episodes, and the art style is the exact same as it was in the show. It was very fun to revisit the story and since the books were so similar I could read the dialogue with the characters voices in my head! I'd recommend this to someone who hasn't seen the show yet and is interested in watching, or (if you're like me) someone who has seen every episode more than once and loves the story to pieces. Either way, it's a great read, and I plan to continue on with the comic series. This is definitely something that people of all ages can enjoy!

Básicamente es la serie en cómic.
Este tomo adapta los 3 primeros capítulos de la serie a cómic, y no cambian nada los diálogos son iguales y los dibujos también. En cierto punto es decepcionante ya que esperaba una nueva historia o algún agregado pero no.
Sabia que la historia de Gravity Falss iba a continuar en cómics, o por lo menos el autor iba escribir nuevas historias en ese formato y pensé que este libro era el primero de esas nuevas historias y no fue así.
Pero de todas formas se disfruta porque amo Gravity Falss y volver a revivir la serie en cómic es una experiencia distinta, amo a estos personajes y esta historia.
Lo recomiendo para los fans o para los mas pequeños <3

El libro "Gravity Falls Camic 1"de Disney, es un libro que es de misterios que pasan en el pueblo de Gravity Falls. Hay un señor que es el tio de unes gemeles que se llaman Diper y Mabel, el hermano gemelo del tio de los niñes que es el creador del libro de misterios donde esta todo lo que pasa en Gravity Falls y en el comic van contando las aventuras para resolver los misterios de este pueblo.

Lo que más me ha gustado es cuando hicieron la pelea de cera al final porque ganaron los buenos que eran los niñes, me dio mucha gracia por que se derretian les persones de cera.

Se lo recomiendo a niñes de 7 a más años y que les gusten las historias de misterio para resolver.

Es una historia interesante y entretenida. En este primer tomo leí hasta el episodio tres, tengo entendido que son completamente lo mismo que la serie de televisión sólo que en formato "historieta/cómic", no hay diferencia. El personaje de Mabel no me gustó mucho, y veo que es el favorito de muchos. Soos es el típico tontito de la historia, jaja. Y ya está. Pero todos son muy divertidos. Aún no veo la serie pero espero tener el gusto. El último episodio me gustó mucho, la batalla de ceras, sobre todo. Están bien para pasar el rato, me lo leí en unas horas.

A very entertaining shortened version of the first four stories from the tv series of the same name. I managed to miss a lot of these episodes when I visiting Disney World, but the lads all raved about them and we picked this up while we were over there.
The humour is off the wall, the episodes are strange and bonkers but everyone is really likeable and the artwork is easy on the eyes.
Perfectly captures the show.

Like others have said, this is the first three episodes of the show as a graphic novel. If you appreciate the artwork in graphic novels, this is just as entertaining as the animated show and gives you more time to appreciate the characters. If you like everything Gravity Falls, you'll love the podcasts about the show on overlyanimated.com

This is basically the first episodes of Gravity Falls made into comics and I love it! I'm a book specialist in one of the famous bookstore here in the Philippines, and I also wonder what the Journal 3 is all about and by reading this book, now I know where it came from! This is a cool read and I enjoyed the episodes as well.

This book was good. It led me on an adventure. They went to a pyramid to try to figure out a mystery. Along the way they went through a cave and had to fight a big spider. I like the candy world in the book. At the end of the book they went to the underworld and talked to this pyramid. That was my favorite part. I think you should read this book.
