Kent asked me to marry him … And I said NO … How could I when a man professing to love me forever doesn’t see who I am? On the other hand, how can I expect him to understand me when I’d barely begun to figure that out myself. It didn’t help trying to do that while finding my place in his world. One I’m not sure I’ll ever understand. I miss my home and my friends, but Kent is the love of my life. The other half of my soul. How can we make life work living in two different worlds?
This is the final book in Elizabeth's trilogy. It can't be read alone. Please start at book one for a better reading experience.
Liz ran away. Again. Not good with confrontation, that is her response, but she loves Kent, and so promises to talk things through in the future, a promise tested more than once. Gosh, but I have loved this story. A far-fetched, billionaire romance which feels real and plausible. And while Kent is just perfect, Liz is partly me, and mostly a woman I would have loved to be. Flawed, but beautiful, shy, yet determined, loving, kind, loyal, and completely without any sense of how lovely she is. Joy by name, and as Kent says, joy by nature. Divine.
“Not Running”, the last book in the series involving Elizabeth Elliot and Nathaniel Theodore Kentworth, the third was predictable. The reader from the first chapter knew that Liz and Kent were going to get back together. There was no suspense, no surprises and no apparent changes in their romance. There was no journey that they each had to take to move back to each other; especially after Liz humiliated Kent in public. Although I understood what Liz was saying, I was outraged for Kent because there was a better way for Liz to have handled the situation. There was no real communication in the relationship. The story would have been better for me if the author showed Kent ‘s point of view and what he was going through without Liz. Example, wouldn’t it have been better for Liz to have talked to Kent before going to a lawyer’s office. Kent is a billionaire. If he was a great business man as the author kept reminding us, then it would not have been a stretch to believe that he would want to protect his family’s asset. I couldn’t get my head around this. Kent must have loved Liz because she was getting on my nerves. And did I miss the family drama around Knight Kentworth. What’s up with the relationship between Theo and Knight? This was ignored in my opinion and a good story. The only reason I will continue reading this series is because I like the characters; despite the gaps the author leaves open. I look at it like traveling a road with pot holes—- you keep reading to see where you eventually end up. I would love to read a prequel about Katherine and Theo, Kent’s divorced parents. In the meanwhile, Gigi, Liz’s best friend is next up in the series. I hope the author doesn’t phone that novel in like she did this one. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.

Finding this story was a gift! I have loved following the slow-moving yet exciting story of Kent and Liz. It’s romantic, honest and laugh-out-loud funny. I’m now a fan and can’t wait to read the next series!
Such a sweet ending to this true love romance . This couple has to figure out how to mesh to very different lives and backgrounds. The destination wedding takes them back to where their love began.
Ah the satisfaction of a well played out romance. I normally don’t love series - I much prefer interconnected standalones. However, I love these series. The characters you come to love and the relationships that develop. 🩵So good 🩵 I highly recommend it! 🚫🤬🚫🌶️
