Grand vampiric story
Wilson pens a grand story in Ascension Of the Blood Throne. I have read work from this author before, and I really enjoyed it. The characters were realistic and very raw. I liked this story because even though Lilith was an average vampiric teenager, she wasn't immature. She's coming of age so-to-speak, dealing with her powers. Hunters and immortality encompass this story of secrets, and twists. This author brings the story to life. The story brings in the believable, even if almost impossible (or not). The thrills and intrigue is written clearly and the characterizations are engrossing. If you love a good vampire story, this book should be next on your list. It's volume four, in the Rise of the Elites Series. Ascension Of the Blood Throne is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews. I look forward to reading many more stories by this author.

It was not long enough.
So this book has great ideas but terrible writing, editing, and proof reading. I felt like I am reading an outline that summarizes main events. It easily digestable but ulitmately is satsifying like simple starches. This author would definetly benefit from hiring a ghost writer to help him stretch the story until its full epic potential...which would be more than 300 pages in length. I understood that the editor was sick but most of the grammer mistakes could have been fixed through using spell check. Unfortunately, the book was a lot like its cover, unsophisticated in design and detail. All in all, this book could have been an epic series if it had been fleshed out with more substance.

Nice fast paced vampire fantasy read, which is part of a collection called the Rise of the Elite. This was my first read in this collection. It was quick and the action starts right at the beginning. It was definitely unpredictable with lots of plot twists and turn of events. I enjoyed this read although I do wish it was longer and had a little more detail to the plot but overall I felt it was a good start to dip your toe into the rest of the collection and get introduced to the characters. I loved the strong female character Lilith but I would like to see more from her point of view. It did leave me wanting more which I think is a good goal for any book! Excited to see what the rest of the collection has in store!

I read this so freaking fast!!! I couldn't not put it down. The action, shock and awe, the twists and turns wow just wow. I cannot put into accurate words to express how much I thoroughly enjoyed this book!!! Getting to know these characters and enjoying the unfolding of this world and characters blew me away. The next book in the series is soon to be released!! I cannot wait to see how this story unfolds more!!

This is the first book by this author. I was not disappointed. The storyline pulled me in from the start. The book has a great storyline and several surprises. I am looking forward to reading more by this author.

Didn't Fit
The story started off terribly. I wasn't even sure this was part of the series until almost the end of the book. Too many twists and turns that were unnecessary. I hope the rest of the books in this series are better.

Great
Love the fact everything comes around into a circle. It shows family can mean everything and you can make your own family. Fast moving - love, death and finally a happy ending. Finding lost mysteries a great read. Enjoyed it very much.

A no for me
I love this series, the captivating fantasy stories in all the black girl magic was awe inspiring, all but 1 of the 7 stories. I despise vampire stories, I find them trite. Besides this was less fantasy and more horror.

Vampires, fierce female mc, choose a side trope. It is a short fantasy read, I feel like it can be expanded upon and detail can be added, but the overall story line, plot and direction of the novel I enjoyed. If you are after a short read then this is one that is still full of twists and action.

I loved this story! I just couldn’t put it down! The twist and turns drew me in and every time I thought I had it all figured out it took me down another rabbit hole! Can’t wait to see more from this author!
