March 25, 2021I thought a suspenseful romance read was a good choice, after my last heartbreaking one.
Unfortunately, while the romance was good there was not great suspense, and tbh it left me indifferent, so I dnf it @ 51%.

Talk about getting the heart pumping! Adrian and Priscilla's trilogy is starting out in a very exciting way!
Adrian is a good guy who thinks he's is dirty based off what he had to do while undercover. He doesn't feel worthy of the guys at Walker Security but he is just as loyal and protective as the rest of them. Seeing him fall for Pri even when he wasn't sure he could trust her made for an exciting start to their relationship.
Pri is feeling very much like Adrian. She is deep down a good person but she has done things in her past she is not proud of when she worked for her father. I'm pretty interested in finding out what she thinks was so bad besides representing bad people in her fathers firm.
Working for Pri's father is what prepped her for the ultimate trial against a very evil man. The same man Adrian went undercover to investigate. It'll be interesting to see how they navigate this together. This couple just clicked and it made for a very easy and fast read. I can't wait to get book 2!

Plot overview:
~ King Devil (aka Nick Waters) - head of one of the most notorious motorcycle gangs - is behind bars and awaiting trial. His crimes are dastardly, and numerous and Adrian Mack (aka Adrian Ramos) knows all the dirty details to put the man away for life.
~ “We got Waters and a shit ton of his people on everything from extortion to murder to sex trafficking. The problem is I’m one of the only credible witnesses that can pull all the pieces together.”
But, King’s number one henchman is determined to make sure no one associated with the case lives long enough to tell their tale.
Priscilla is the lead attorney on the case and with witnesses dying, she needs Adrian Mack to testify, badly. Adrian has to determine if Pri is someone he can trust before he comes forward because the corruption surrounding this case runs deep. Once she has his trust, the rest of the Walker team comes on board to make sure all the good guys stay alive and the bad guys don’t win.
** The following are my thoughts about this book: **
* * I think there are other Walker Security books prior to this one. I feel like I might have missed a little backstory with the team.
* * I think I know who one of the bad guys is going to turn out to be. Time will tell if I’m right.
* * I thought the story had a good pace and it held my interest.
* * for not being sure about Pri and worried about his own life, I throughly Adrian deciding to trust Pri came rather quickly.

Suspenseful and passionate in many ways.

Jones starts the story with some things we don’t know about Adrian. The secrets he’s been holding that captivates you from the very beginning.
Have you ever met someone who you inherently know they have to be in your life? Maybe it’s a person that you know is going to be a good friend. Maybe it’s your significant other and you knew it when you met.
That’s what happens when Adrian and Priscilla collide. Energy and sparks with all that wonderful sexy banter and passionate connection are prominent in this kick-off.
But with that connection comes danger and strife as those that are out to kill Adrian also have Priscilla in their sights. And when you don’t know who to trust the only people you can trust are your brothers, aka Walker Security.
This book ends on a cliffhanger; one that you know is coming but you don’t know how it will end. It ends with a bang, plus almost a bit of a letdown from the way Jones ramps up with the suspense factor.
A perfect start to this trilogy with the hot love interest and murder plot with loads of twists. Plus Jones loves to sprinkle in all kinds of fun suspenseful factors that we just can’t get enough of with her writing.
Now, how long will it be for Book Two? Antsy already!

Romance Suspense : ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
CW : Domestic Violence (Off Page), Cheating (Previous Relationship)
My fist read from this author was a decent one. I enjoyed the storyline and both our leads. Adrian is a good guy who thinks he's bad because of his past; a past he can't control others response of. He's strong and loyal and because of that he has a fierce possessiveness of our heroine and his friends/family. He really does think he isn't worthy of the love and trust they freely dole out for him. Pri is much the same and really just wants to love her man and be a good person. Though this book didn't have all the suspense I wanted I know the series with continue on with it big time with that cliff hanger!
I enjoyed that this had enough gruff to have me interested in our next book in the series.

Adrian Ramos & Priscilla Miller story was awesome, Adrian works for Walker security and Walker leaves no man behind. However, Adrian's past is now catching up to him fast and he don't want to drag his brothers at Walker security into his past, his mess, so he does the only thing he knows how, leave. Blake Walker is not having it, he stops Adrian and let him know that he is family and family protects one another. He sends Adam, Lucifer & of course Savage with Adrian back to Texas.
Adrian worked for six years under cover while he was a FBI agent. The biker club was name King Devils and he was second in command the strategic man. Now time has come for the Devil himself Waters the leader of King Devil's trial and Priscilla Miller the Asst ADA is panicking cause no one knows where the key witness is. Agent Pitts from the FBI is the only person who can contact ex-FBI agent Adrian and Adrian trust no one but his brother and his family Walker Security. So what does Adrian do, he stalks Pri he lie who he is when he meets her he trying to find out if Priscilla can be trusted or if she been converted to be bad by the devil's leader.
Priscilla is the Asst. ADA working the biggest case of her life. She has everything to lose, her job, her dignity and respect she wants from her father. Especially since she quit their family firm as a Defense Attorney to prosecute the monsters her father let go. Pri has one problem her star witness is missing and other witnesses are coming up dead under her protection who does she trust when friends are betraying her everything is failing. Until one day in the coffee shop she visit she runs into Tall, dark & beautiful, she does want to put him at risk because of the case she working on but when he touch her, her skin lights like fire, maybe one touch want hurt but little does she knows he is the very man she has been looking for.

There’s a reason why I insist Lisa Renee Jones is the queen of romantic suspense . . . When I finish reading one of her books, I typically find my heart racing and muttering “she really didn’t end it like that did she?”
Add in wide-eyes and an “oh my god” chorus and that’s what happened when I finished When He’s Dirty.
I loved every moment between Adrian and Pricilla and all the shenanigans with the rest of the Walker Security team—the family.
Adrian and Pri are bound and determined to make the King Devil pay for his crimes, but they have to stay alive to do so. And right now, their lives are definitely threatened.
And we have to wait until When He’s Bad releases to find out what happened next. Holy crap, is it December 15th yet? ~ Missy, 5 stars

The story had a lot of potential and is entertaining/going in the right direction but it drags on a little. The premise of the story is fun, ex-undercover agent and an ADA taking down a bad guy but barely anything is revealed about the villain.

A pretty basic romantic suspense but with cliffhanger
I liked Pri and I liked Adrian but they were boring to me. They both wanted to help people and bring bad guys to justice. I just didn’t feel passionate about them as a couple.
The story felt pretty routine and I wasn’t invested enough to want to jump right into book 2. I will read it sometime later

Suspenseful, passionate & a touch murdery!!
Just what I love in a good book!
This was my first Lisa Renee Jones book and the only thing I keep thinking is "have I been living under a rock?" because this story was incredible. Don't get me wrong, the cliffhanger ending kind of ticked me off but at the same time I am going to dive right into book two so well played.
Adrian and Pri were the perfect amount of push and pull with each other but I still have so many questions. What did Adrian do that is so bad he doesn't think he deserves redemption? What did Pri do besides letting off bad guys through her father's firm? Oh, and most importantly WTH is up with the very murdery and slightly creepy King Devil? Besides the obvious of course.
I know this isn't much of a review, but I can't say much because I still don't know much. What I do know is that Adrian and Priscilla are both intense in the best way and their connection is undeniable. Now I am off to book two, When He's Bad.
Just what I love in a good book!
This was my first Lisa Renee Jones book and the only thing I keep thinking is "have I been living under a rock?" because this story was incredible. Don't get me wrong, the cliffhanger ending kind of ticked me off but at the same time I am going to dive right into book two so well played.
Adrian and Pri were the perfect amount of push and pull with each other but I still have so many questions. What did Adrian do that is so bad he doesn't think he deserves redemption? What did Pri do besides letting off bad guys through her father's firm? Oh, and most importantly WTH is up with the very murdery and slightly creepy King Devil? Besides the obvious of course.

There’s nothing quite like the guys with Walker Security and Adrian’s story is a great addition. He’s accumulated a good bit of dirt while working undercover and feels the weight of it as the day of reckoning approaches. With his new relationship with Pri at risk as well as his relationship with his team members, his anxiety runs throughout the story.
Pri has a bit of dirt in her past as well but she’s ready to face the devil in order to correct her past sins. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen as people she’s shut the door on begin to pop up again.
This is a tension filled story with the promise of danger always lurking in the corners. This author is known for her suspension filled twists and turns and as this book crept closer to its cliffhanger ending, I began to bite and nibble on my nails in anticipation of what torment she was going to deal. With a great pace and several of my favorite Walker crew in full force, I was completely engaged from beginning to end. Add in some serious steam as Adrian shows Pri how he’s dirty in other ways and I’m totally on board with this author’s newest trilogy.

When He’s Dirty is the 1st in a new trilogy called Walker Security: Adrian's Trilogy by Lisa Renee Jones. This is Adrian and Priscilla's story. Adrian has pretty much been in hiding for 2 years while he worked with Walker regarding a case that he worked undercover for years at the Texas Devil’s MC then when it was pretty much over, he was left behind as a fall guy. Now he is ready to get his life back. That's where Priscilla comes in. She's is an assistant district attorney, who is prosecuting the Devil’s case. They have this instant chemistry when they meet . There is danger that follows them as they try to right a wrong. There is danger, suspense, intrigue, secrets, twists, turns, chemistry, heat, feels, and its a wild, exciting, captivating emotional rollercoaster ride that keeps the reader entertained all the way up to the cliffhanger. I can't wait to read book 2!!

*4 DIRTY STARS*
It's books like these that always seem to rekindle my love for a good romantic suspense.
I loved both Adrian and Pri, and the fact that they're both intelligent, know what they want and don't make dumb decisions. They complement each other nicely due to the fact that they're both scarred and have issues in the past.
There was a nice balance between the suspense and the romance, though sparks were flying from pretty early on.
The story is great, with a very believable villain. I love this is going to be a trilogy, which makes the story and the characters a lot more fleshed out.
How dare they end the book on a cliffhanger like that though?! I'm off to read book 2 asap!

This is a Hit for ME!!!
Adrian worked undercover for two years with a notorious biker who is now awaiting his trial. The King Devil has corrupted people in all different and some very high places. Who do you trust? Witnesses are being killed but the Assistant DA, Priscilla Miller is heading the charge to take the King Devil down. Both are trying to live with their “dirty” past Adrian by the things he had to do undercover with the Texas Devils MC and Pri with working for the bad guys under her father’s firm. Now she’s trying to get the same kind of people she had helped put away for their offences. Adrian is coming out of hiding to take down a very deadly advocate.
Adrian is part of the Walker Security firm and it’s those same men who are there to help him through this maze of lies, deceit and danger. Even though its frowned upon but the material witness and the lawyer are crossing lines and whew do they heat up the page.
This book was amazing from the get go but had left me with a cliffhanger that I just HAVE to read now!! The twists and turns, lies and deceit make this a 5* book that has me wanting for more.

I love all of the guys from Walker Security and I have been waiting to learn more about Adrian. Adrian has secrets that he is keeping from his Walker Security family, but when he needs to check out some stuff by himself, the guys from Walker won’t let that happen.

Unbelievable … that’s the only way to describe the first book in Adrian’s trilogy. It was intriguing, passionate and, with the ending … suspenseful.
Lisa Renee Jones is known for her suspense and exhilarating stories. When He’s Dirty was no different. Adrian is elusive yet entirely open. Pri feels like she is just as dirty as he is. They make the perfect couple with pasts that haunt them both and an unstable and dangerous future ahead of them. Who will the next victim be? Who is secretly working for the King Devil? Will the past come up to meet Adrian head on. I couldn’t stop reading this waiting to see what would happen next. I was surprised and somewhat elated with the twists and turns that evolved throughout the story. But, danger, passion and adrenaline is a key component to any Lisa Renee Jones book.
I adore the men of Walker Security and their alpha ways … except when it comes to their women … then we see the pussycats. Loving Savage, Lucifer and Adam and the roles they are playing in this story. Perfect choices to protect Adrian and Pri. Ok I’m really annoyed! The premise of this book is good. Pri used to work for her dad as a lawyer defending the bad guys. She left and went to work for the DA putting the bad guys behind bars. She’s working on a big case and needs her star witness Adrian to help put Waters - the devil king behind bars. Adrian worked under cover in Waters organisation so is key for the prosecution. Adrian won’t come forward until he knows if Pri is really on the side of good so he meets her and gives her a false name but he ends up falling for her. She is annoyed when she finds out who he really is but accepts it quite quickly. Adrian gets his friends and colleagues from Walker Security involved as they are the only ones he can trust.
88% of this book is about Adrian and Pri building a relationship and talking about how Waters and his number 2 Deleon are bad news and everyone should be scared for their lives. Waters doesn’t make an appearance until 89% in! Adrian and Pri bait him and then take off and the book basically ends when they are disturbed in their secure location. I hate cliffhangers like that!
I will read the next book however I feel there was a lot of padding in this one and not enough real action but I feel I have come so far in the build up to not know how this ends.

GAH! I knew the cliffhanger was coming and still I was sucked in at the end but it was worth it. Adrian has been a part of the Walker clan for a few years now and through several books but we haven't really gotten to know him except through his bad jokes but now we really get to find out what makes him the way he is. He was undercover for the FBI in the baddest biker gang The Devils in Texas and now the King Devil is being brought to trial and he is the star witness. Priscilla Miller is the prosecuting attorney and as the assistant DA she is tasked with the biggest case of her life but the witnesses keep dying. A chance meet in her coffee shop between Pri and Adrian, or was it chance, and the chemistry between these two is off the charts. Soon the Walker Security team is guarding everyone and Adrian and Pru, well these two, they are going to make this trilogy spark. Suspense, mystery, sex, and chemistry and all the good stuff and I cannot wait for book two!

As always, Lisa Renee Jones crafted a spellbinding love story set against a titillating backdrop of mystery, treachery and razor sharp suspense. And WHEN HE’S DIRTY is so tension-fraught, with such a palpable sense of dramatic urgency—and impending doom— that I could barely wait to find out what was around the bend!
Let me count the ways that Adrian slayed me! This rough around the edges ex-FBI operative in all his “tall, dark, and alluringly dangerous” glory rendered me breathless! He is definitely one of the good guys. Though after all of the dirty deeds he was embroiled in during his deadly foray in the mist of the Texas Kings MC, he thinks otherwise and bears many scars. And the fallout of going deep undercover was catastrophic. Now with a price on his head he does not want to lose anyone else that he cares about. So it’s a given that his guard is up and trust does not come easy for him —which motivates him to keep his true identity from Pri at first—but there’s something about this gorgeous, blue-eyed brunette that makes him WANT to trust her and strip himself bare in every sense of the word! But he’s dug up quite a lot of dirt on the Kings while undercover and testifying could not only put his head on the chopping block but the beautiful DA’s as well! There truly is not a dull moment from start to finish, and as their story unfolds at a breakneck speed, my pulse was racing like CRAZY! The big, broody, brazenly alpha security man and Hotshot ADA have insta-chemistry, and despite the fact that it’s the worst possible time to give into temptation, once he finds proof that Pri’s trustworthy— and divulges who he really is—sparks REALLY fly! But despite everything, these two kindred spirits become lost and found in each other and are bound together by their past demons—and a mutual enemy. Ultimately, they prove to be an UNSTOPPABLE force as they vow not to allow the looming danger to deter them from waging war against the Devil—and winning at all costs.
And yowza! Adrian turns out to be "dirty" in more ways than one! The steam level was off the charts and this hopelessly enamored couple’s interludes were molten hot and set my panties on fire! Bottom Line? I was 100% invested in this story...but YIKES! There is a bone-chilling cliffy at the end that will leave you gasping! I cannot wait for WHEN HE’S BAD come December.

I had to stop reading, there was way to much exposition and info dumping from the very first paragraph for me to get into the story or care about any of the characters.
It’s all tell not show.
The reader is being told what is happening instead of being apart of the action, the parts I could get through anyway. Also if you don’t like first person narrative and being in the head of a male protagonists give this a miss. It’s something I personally don’t like.
I have enjoyed other series from this author but this one just did not work for me.

Priscilla Miller is the assistant district attorney in charge of bringing down the leader of the Kings herself. But most of her witnesses are being killed off. She is beginning to wonder if there will be anyone left when the trial starts. That is where Adrian and Walker Security steps in, they are there to protect her and Ardian is her star witness. As Adrian and Pricilla grow closer, the sparks will fly and their feeling will grow.
Can Adrian protect her from those he became close to and knows all their secrets? Can Walker Security protect them both? Will they make it to the trial? Can Pricilla help Adrian become the man he used to be?
I love the suspense surrounding the Walker Security men and the storyline for each of the spinoff series gets better and better. I love the banter between the men and the way they rib each other about how they fall in "puppy love". And then the seriousness of the team when another is being hunted or attacked. Author Lisa Renee Jones has a way of making you feel like you know each of these characters personally and you want to protect them yourself. I loved this one and can not wait for book 2. I highly recommend it, so sit back and enjoy and there is a biggie of a cliffhanger.

A lot happens in this one, the whole book not more than a couple days, yet it seems longer. I liked Adrian, but he seems lost working at Walker, he wants the ties and yet is afraid of them too. Through this book we find out why and you know part of the reason is he thinks they all will turn on him when they find out what he did. I have a feeling we are going to learn that the powers that be at Walker have known all along and it didn't matter to them at all.
Adrian and Pri were good together, you could feel the instant attraction and I was glad that Pri didn't get too mad at learning just who Adrian was. Pri really understands Adrian because she too did bad stuff when a criminal defense lawyer, things she regrets. Together I think they have a chance at getting the guy they are going after.
I hated how this one ended, only because I don't have the next book right there ready to read.
Adrian and Pri were good together, you could feel the instant attraction and I was glad that Pri didn't get too mad at learning just who Adrian was. This book has a lot happening in a short period of time but Adrian and Priscilla came together when for all the right reasons, get the bad guy.
Adrian had a past of crime and distortion and feels he doesn't deserves anything good in his life. That is until he starts working with the prosecutor and he knows he wants her and will do anything to keep her, even if it costs him his life.
Priscilla wants to do good in her life, convict the criminals and get them off the streets. That is until she meets Adrian and she has to go against everything she believes in to keep herself and him safe.
This book is intense and keeps you guessing and left off at a cliffhanger and I can't wait to read the next book to see if these two has what it takes to bring down the bad guys and be together at the same time.
The narrators voices such you into this story and make you feel what they are reading. They are awesome!
