Unexpected

Rate this book
Julia Roth had a plan. She was going to have a successful career followed by a loving husband and children when she was ready. Being divorced, living with her parents, and jobless at twenty-five was definitely not the plan. Nor was being pregnant. Noah Foster learned to take every day in stride. He lost his wife early, leaving him to raise their son on his own. He never thought that at the age of forty-nine he would be going through it all again. Certainly not with his son’s best friend. Noah and Julia must navigate the force that pulls them close despite the risks that could tear them apart. Together, they learn the hard way that the best things in life are often unexpected.

Very well-written, I just felt kind of "meh" about the story itself and felt it was very repetitive.

Good story

The story here was good and interesting. I just couldn't get into they writting style. I wanted more from the H perspective and maybe even the friends. I feel like the end was rushed thru and had too much drama happen all at once.

Loved! What an emotional story!

I really loved this story. Surprise pregnancy and age gap are some of my favorite tropes to read so I knew going in I would enjoy. However this book took me on a complete emotional rollercoaster. Wow. It’s so beautifully written and so real and raw. The characters had depth and I could feel the emotions rolling off the pages. It was still steamy and romantic but I really liked the honest ness and the journey Noah and Julia went on.

Beautiful Story

I loved this book. Well written, poignant and sweet. Really invested in this story and the characters, Noah and Juls with added wonderful cast of friends and family. A must read!!!

It was story that has potential about the two characters, but the writing was a little bland for my taste.

expect all the cliches in Unexpected

There is nothing wrong with a cliche storyline, but this book followed it to the T; which got boring very quick and had me skimming through the last 40%
There is no cheating so that’s a plus, though why the MCs even got together was all very quick, random, and unexplained. Noah’s did and said all the right things except the one hiccup that was supposed to give the story some angst; hell the later half of the book he stepped up and did more than anyone would expect in real life.

The book had potential. Even though I am not comfortable with the writing style (Third Person), I would have liked the book more. But the author wanted to show unexpected events maybe too much. Because so many events happened at once that the execution didn't give me much emotion. The ending was rushed, heroine's parents' situation was also rushed. Even though I understood what happened to them, the author took too much time to let the readers know about that. That basically kills the joy.

So good

About a girl who on the day of her divorce slept with her best friends father only to find out she's pregnant. No one us happy about it and then a tragedy happens. She loses the people most important to her and wants to kill herself. Then her baby daddy standing by her through everything and not letting her go. Great book.

good plot but not my favorite writing style

This book seemed to go on forever. I would have preferred dual POV. The style of writing was not my favorite . The story plot was good though

It would be 0 no stars if it was just about her but I don’t I’ll give it 2 stars for him. She is boring and indecisive and wushu washy flake. He is a great guy but I felt like he let her make way too many decisions when it is his child’s too.

Romance

I really like the premise of the story but I am not sure the overall story fit together as well as it could have. I don’t know I felt like something was missing. Overall good romance book. 4.0
