This final volume consists of short stories of some of the most popular characters in this series. I thought I'd be bored, but I actually enjoyed reading it.

Shouta Akimura
I killed three people. They're not coming back. And I have to keep living. I have to live and really know this sadness.

I almost forgot who Shouta Akimura was. Then I remember, he was Tsukasa's first love interest. It's good to read his backstory after his first encounter with Yuuki as a devil.

And so, he became part of Hybrid Birth Project before being sentence to life in prison. It was sad that his partner and the baby died in the process. Another guilt to add to his list.

Naoya Ushio
Human beings are all equal. No one should be hurt or killed because of how they may think. Hurting people is a vicious cycle.

I find Ushio's character as complicated as Kikuhara's. He's full of contempt to humans and devils alike. I was glad he listened to Kagasaki and was able to "free" himself a bit from his misguided beliefs. Well, hopefully that is.

Kirio Kikuhara
I want to be alone. That's my ideal way of living.

Nothing much to say. I still hate him no matter what.

Johannes Kleeman
If you're not an actor, then what exactly do you do?
Do? I don't really do anything.

Honestly, I was kind of disappointed on what they did to Lee's character. He's one of my favorites, but they made him useless in the later volumes. I feel sorry for him. He should have been given a better character development than making him a wanderer without purpose. Too bad..

But I really want to be with you forever.

Aww. I love this couple with all my heart.
Now that Yuuki met Tsukasa's family and they approved of him, they can marry anytime. Yey! Thank goodness for Kojiro's power.

Tokyo Branch Jail Experience Course No. 1
So? What about you guys? You get to use the jail as a company perk?

I laughed so hard reading this part because I realized that this wasn't just a regular "jail". I also almost forgot the bloodlust research that Tsukasa and Yuuki participated, and that it was held in one of those "jails". Silly me.

Anyway, I kind of expected Jill and Sawasaki would eventually used one of these "jails". Though I wasn't one of their loveteam's fans, their relationship had been put on hold for too long, it's about time.

Overall, this was great, fun-filled series to read and complete if you like supernatural or dark fantasy genre. :)

Finally I made progress with this manga and I finish the last volume, before to go to bed. I give 4 stars to all the volumes. This story was nothing special, but it was enough to keep my attention. We see calm, interesting, romantic and intense scenes. I like the art and the cover. The characters showed potential and developed with every new volume.

!! review of entire series !!

overall rating is a 3.5. the highs were very high but there was also a lot of back-and-forth and the plotlines/characters weren’t always consistent. with that being said, i was intensely entertained and quite sad to see it all wrapped up. i went in thinking i was going to get a simple vampire/human love story with some basic drama to spice it up and left with so much more. i love how complex and mature the characters in this story are—there’s some real, solid growth in this series, and it’s so lovely to see how everything plays out. the endings may not have been storybook happy endings, but they feel realistic considering the dark-but-optimistic vibe of the series as a whole. definitely having a lot of feelings about this at the moment 💗

Although it was trying to tie up the loose ends, it still just left me with wanting more. I was disappointed in the ending and this didn’t change anything for me. Still too many characters I’m interested in that didn’t get a solid ending or send off or anything explained. Like, Hans?? He started off as one of the best - if not THE best - characters and he just fell off as the story went on. More characters were added but the development stopped for all of them.

This collection of side stories isn't wholly necessary, but it does put a nice cap on the series. Well worth finishing out the collection with this if you've fallen for the characters as I have.

This "last" volume serves as an epilogue for most of the major characters in the series.

We finally see what happened with Akimura (Tsukasa's friend from the very beginning of the series) after he was arrested. I was always hoping for some sort of follow-up there, and I'm glad we at least got to see how he ended up.

Ushio sucks, so I didn't really care about his ability to "find his freedom" or whatever the hell.

Kikuhara also sucks. But Nine and Seven at least get some closure in regards to how they view him, and whether they'll be "family" someday.

Lee was done the most dirty in this series, and considering he's one of my favorite characters, it really sucks. He was just sort of tossed to the wayside in the last few volumes. During the first time-skip, when everyone was split up and investigating in their own way, Lee is just...left to his own devices, wandering around, seeing Feng sometimes, being hunted down. Then he gets wrapped up with Queen, which wasn't a bad thing in the end, but Queen told him how important his role was and then he just gets a few scenes for the live stream and is tossed aside again. Tsukasa had tried to get in touch a few times, but he was part of the fam and like no one else gave him a second thought or worried about him. Then, he gets this little story where he's still off wandering, befriends a little girl and her grandma, and then has to run off again. I get that his "freedom" was an important aspect to his character, but he was also happy to be with Tsukasa, Yuki and co. It just really sucks.

And then we have our precious couple, meeting Tsukasa's parents and grandma, and working out the worries of all involved. It was a really sweet wrap to their story arc. The extra bonus story about Sawazaki and Jill--and also Tsukasa and Yuuki--was sweet, but honestly I was hoping to see more exploration of the physical side of the main couple's relationship.

I think this series will likely stick with me for a while. Gonna watch the anime soon.
So long for now, Devils' Line.
(Plus, there's an ongoing sequel currently. I don't know anything about it, but I'll keep an eye on it.)

This series ended up not being what I thought it was going to be and that is what lead to my disappointment. This is a series about relationships, which is not my usual cup of tea. That being said, it was an entertaining read.

We follow so many characters throughout this story that it felt more like we were having singular episodes with them instead of the series being a continuous story. A character I thought was going to be focused on more, ended up not being as important to the story as I thought they were going to be. Certain things were presented in a way that was confusing to me and I don't know if it was presented that way in order to keep the reader surprised with the reveal or if it was just the way I interpreted things.

Even though I was disappointed this time around, I do want to re-try this series sometime in the future. I think going into this series thinking the focus was going to be on other things really affected my enjoyment because I was constantly looking and waiting for a different focus in the story. Now that I know where the focus of this story lies, I can go into it with a different mindset and hopefully enjoy it more at a later date.

This volume contains six shorts(?) that help to wrap up the events of Devils' Line. Personally, it was totally worth reading even if volume 13 could be considered the final volume.

There's a short about Shouta Akimura (the devil boy from volume 1) and how his life ended up.
There's a short about Naoya Ushio and his inner struggles.
There's a short about the fate of the former CCC members.
There's a short about what Hans Lee is doing now.
There's a short about Yuuki meeting Tsukasa's family.
And there's a short about how Sawazaki and Jill are doing.

Overall, the art style is good, but all the characters look similar, so it's hard to tell who is who at times. But I was impressed that this story refrained from the whirlwind romance formula. Every relationship is given serious consideration by all parties involved. It makes me actually believe that these relationships will succeed past the "happily ever after." There was also an amazing amount of LBGTQ+ representation throughout the whole series. Great job.

Devils' Line, Vol. 14 is everything. The best character development, the most intense action, and an emotional depth that hits different. Anzai’s growth throughout this series has been insane, and in this volume, we really see how far he’s come—not just in his control over his instincts, but in the way he understands himself and the people around him. Tsukasa remains the heart of the story, and their relationship? Peak development. Every moment between them is so well-earned and packed with meaning.

The action in this volume is next level—brutal, fast-paced, and so cinematic that it feels like you’re watching an anime unfold on the page. The stakes have never been higher, and every fight scene is perfection. The political and emotional tension add so much weight to every decision made, and the artwork continues to nail every intense moment. This series has been an absolute pleasure to read, and Vol. 14 proves once again why Devils' Line is one of the best supernatural thrillers out there. Five stars—this volume delivers in every way!

Decided to read this after watching the anime at the start of quarantine and honestly it did not disapoint. Very action packed, lots of decent romance and lots of characters I enjoyed. Would definetely recommend to anyone that enjoyed the anime like myself.
Where this manga loses it though is the characters. There are SO MANY and not enough time to delve into all of their backstories and the current plot seamlessly. Every single character is given a very intricate backstory, but this bogs down the current timeline and honestly I forget who half of them even are. The author spends too much time with the characters that it is detrimental to the plot, because it would be impossible to utilize them all to their fullest. Many characters are inroduced and then either barely seen or become useless because the author clearly did not know what to do with them.
Overall though this is a very good manga and Anzai and Tsukasa are super cute.

Bref, "Devil's Line" pêche par la qualité de ses dessins dans les premiers tomes mais c'est vraiment le seul défaut que je peux lui reprocher, et encore, par la suite, elle s'améliore et donne même un certain charme à l'histoire. Pour le reste, tout est parfait. Le background des personnages est varié et très bien développé, l'histoire est dynamique, bourrée de rebondissement et nous offre des réflexions sociétales captivantes. Il n'y a pas de vampires dans le monde où nous vivons mais ce n'est pas pour autant que les thèmes exploités ne nous parlent pas, au contraire, il n'y a qu'un pas à faire pour voir le parallèle avec notre société et les discriminations qui y ont lieu.
Je terminerai par une citation d'un personnage qui m'a beaucoup marqué et qui résume plutôt bien le mangas : "Qu'est-ce qui fait d'un monstre, un monstre ?". Vous avez quatre heures !

You’ll need to re-define your imagination when hearing "vampire romance." The vampirism is completely unromantic. The bloodlust is grotesque, brutal, and when sexualized has rape(ish) tones. It’s nearly hopeless impediment to the relationship; this plot point alone is worth the read. The story is more akin to a Beaty and the Beast story where the beauty is in very real danger from the Beast.

Also, another attraction point to the maturity of themes society, politics, corruption, racism, and love. It’s well balanced not a purely romance while also not all about action/violence it should be an interesting read for any gender.

The negative I did not like the art style it seemed crude to me and I struggled with it however the story pulled me through it’s unlike anything I’ve read before.

"Freedom looks good on you."

This volume was a collection of short stories, tying up the conclusion for the main characters. As sad as I am to see that it's over, I'm glad we gained some insight to the direction of everyone's futures and where life may take them next. I appreciate the outlook Hanada has on the issue they are all facing, treating it as a very real and evolving idea giving not only the characters that extra layer of complexity but also adding it to the plot itself. These last glimpses were a nice farewell to the characters I've grown to adore through this series. I am happy to have experienced this story and I hope more and more people find joy in it as well.

3.5 stars for the entire series. It had interesting characters and a compelling plot, but I feel a lot of the nuance of the story was lost on me. This storyline would have done really well in short story/novella form. Due to the abbreviated nature of most manga (page length-wise and in terms of conversation length) I feel the absence of the extra detail and conversation bridges that really flesh out and unite a narrative, especially across so many books and characters.

I will say I felt the final volume was more of an epilogue to tie up loose ends, parts were cute, but the end of volume 13 definitely felt like the end.

no ha sido el final que me esperaba if im being honest... me parece monísimo el último capítulo de anzai y tsukasa, pero ha sido taaaaan diferente. ósea la relación de ellos dos en los volúmenes de mediados de la historia tenía algo que me flipaba. pero i liked it.

overall, diría que me parece que los últimos volúmenes no me han encantado como lo han hecho los vol. 7-8. a habido mucho trasfondo en las side couples (i LOVE sawazaki & jill) durante en mi opinion demasiaaaaado tiempo y poco main couple anzai-tsukasa.

This is an unnecessary send-off to an otherwise decent series. The final Anzai and Tsukasa chapter is sweet, but didn’t really advance things. The other chapters were very uneven and honestly, quite bizarre. Seven and Nine going back to the source of their greatest traumas and cleaning house for him was quite peculiar. And Zero Nine managed to grow quite a bit taller! What?!? The art was its usual challenge to overcome. If you haven’t bought this volume, it is not essential. Volume 13 provided a competent and satisfactory ending to the series, so save your 12.95 USD...

my favorite manga ever idc perfect balance of romance and actual plot (action) like SHUT UPP SHUTNUPP i got so attached to anzai and tsukasa for the longest time after reading and i love seeing how their relationship developed they r actual soulmates and make me hate my life! the themes of racism and just…humanity (?) in the story was incorporated so seamlessly it made you actual feel for the devils and the WAY ANZAI DHEIXNWKCNKDNFJEJCJDJXNSNX denied himself of everything for so long becus becus becus 😓😓😓😓😓😓 i love this story that’s all i got to say thank u hanada ryo

I would've liked a better ending, but this is what we've got. There were some villains in the book that didn't quite get the retribution they deserved. That's a problem for me. I wonder if the hidden message was that we all supposedly have a 'devil' in all of us. If so, I didn't buy it completely. Sure, humans were capable of atrocities just as devils. The difference: devils aren't able to control themselves to prevent their violent actions. Nevertheless, it wasn't a very satisfying ending. I give it 4 stars because the most of the characters were likable.

3.5 stars - Finale epilogue shorts for some of the main cast. I liked the social/civil message in the second story from Ushio's pov, but Anzai & Taira's bit was the most fulfilling. The art is plainer than usual with a lot of blank backgrounds - the cover is a good indicator of what to expect. If you're a fan of the series and/or a collector, pick up the last book to complete the series, but the serie's conclusion in 13 is fine without these side stories.

En general, la historia completa de los tomos estaría entre las 3.5 y 4 estrellas.

Ahora bien, yo recomendaría leerla toda seguida de ser posible, sobre todo los últimos tomos. Al tener tantos personajes dispersados ya que no tienen por qué coincidir en el mismo espacio, con flashbacks al pasado, si dejas mucho tiempo entre tomos yo creo que te pierdes, de hecho cuando retomé la lectura en el tomo 12 iba algo perdida.

La releeré en el futuro de esta manera para disfrutarla más.

For a general wrap up this one was so cute! I enjoyed them picking a couple different characters and basically just going with it and providing us with little updates on basically everyone without having a story for everyone. The last two were definitely my favorite but I think this was such a sweet and cute way to end the series without just cutting things off bluntly overall.

As the blurb says, these are glimpses — a side story collection disguised as an epilogue. If you’re the type that prefers hero shows ending with everyone looking off in the distance with a satisfied expression versus hugging and jumping up and down, then this will be a great farewell to Devils’ Line. For others, this will be an optional pick-up.

I think over all this series had to many characters for some of them to become fully developed and to many subplots that left me wondering sometimes why does this person matter. These are short stories that are epilogues for several main characters some are satisfying some aren’t. Specifically Lee. He was so interesting and then became an after thought… and this I want more for him.

The last few books I feel the author changed their writing style.
