Zhou Yanling, a suspect in the Tongzhou 9/27 major murder case, appeared on the K4133 train. When the train conductor, Wu Fengrong first received this news, he began making the rounds, investigating.
On this train, various forces secretly wrestled; the truth was confusing, and the suspect was ambiguously entangled with the conductor.
Zhou Yanling had never encountered such a splendid person as Wu Fengrong, with a lovable physique and graceful charm. Zhou Yanling was so affected that he solicited that refreshing presence (1). Wu Fengrong was secretly wary that Zhou Yanling was concealing something profound. Who is he going to trick? It could be that he just wants to indulge. And when he was finished doing so, Wu Fengrong would not be able to keep himself from making a scene. In this moment, the two waited silently, each harboring their own designs and intents.
Thirty hours from Tongzhou to Baihe, the road is long…
This novel reminded me so much of Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express and one of the arcs from the danmei Card Room. Everything happens inside a moving train. In my honest opinion, the plot and the mystery of this novel is quite decent. Maybe I've already read tons of mystery crime/suspense books that this isn't really something that stood out among the rest, but this is still good and satisfying.
What I really liked about this the most is the absolute chemistry between the MC and the ML. From the very first chapter, I can already feel the palpable sexual tension from where I sit. You can see how they really can't resist the mature attraction between them. The confession part is one of my favorites though. That's one hell of direct yet heartfelt and mature confession! Perfectly fit for the tense situation.
All in all, this is a satisfactory read. It's fairly short with a total of 33 chapters and can be read in one sitting. I personally enjoyed this a lot but should also remind you that there's some mature scenes in here so read at your own discretion.
I read until chapter 12. I tried to finish reading it but I can’t anymore. I am dropping this. There is no character development. The plot is all over the place. The mystery component was written as if it super complicated. Everything felt forced. Every scene, every line was too abrupt. The idea is there but it wasn’t executed properly. It just sells smut with a messed up story. And the English translations made it more complicated and hard to understand. Not my cup of tea. There are a lot more mystery novels out there better than this.
when you think the plot cannot get any more ridiculously complicated and then BOOM (literally) 😨 almost had me near the end lmao i was scared it was gonna be BE for a second 😭 (dw it is HE)
alternative title: how one man miraculously survives not one but THREE (3) extremely close encounters with almost-certain death on a moving train 😂
I... have so so many questions. Most of them are just variations on why? And also just a lot of ??????? I have never worked on a train and also... I have only been on exactly two trains that were not city subway systems and both of those trips were for less than 4 hours but I sincerely do not believe that the way things played out in this story could ever possibly be accurate. I'm not adverse to some suspension of belief if I'm having a good time but everything about this novel required you suspend belief. The last third of the book, I honestly just wanted it to be over and I was dragging myself through by constantly telling myself it was shorter than most of the cnovels I've been reading.
Some highlights of wtfery, most of which are spoilers... 1. 2. Where the fuck were these people hiding on a TRAIN that no one could find them even though they supposedly knew the train backwards and forwards? 3. The timeline of this book is LESS THAN 2 DAYS and the MC and ML go from complete strangers to passionately in love within that timeframe. wtf... 4. 9. I really can't tell if it's the translation or the writing that made so many things in this novel contradictory. They would say or think one thing and then a paragraph later, it's the exact opposite without any development to get to that point.
4.5/5… i was score too higher before …almost 5/5 , i dont care what ppl thought, this is almost perfect for me, so i will blabbering stuff here. Dont mind me.
Maybe in early reading , i was still lost. I m trying to catch the information a bit by bit, so it kinda slowly to grasp AT the beginning.
BUT after a while…. Put aside the heat between our ML and MC in their horny time, the crime plots quite amazed me. A lot of twist happen , in this short danmei??? Or just i was too dumb to guess it.
This story shows surprising facts one by one in such a right pace. I feel like, every chapters between 20-30, There will be overlapping information about the perpetrators. From the first perpetrators , ended up another one and after that another one coming. And then from the first obvious motive, that mentioned as false, and then another motive shows.
For just a little plot , i feel the suspense, mystery, sexiness, action and excitement through my reading.
Their sexc scene… has a right amount . Not too much, not just little sex. This is a danmei that have a good explicit sex scene after a long time for me haha. They are really hot, ngl.
I also enjoy the amount of lovable words between ZYL and WFR , which are VERY CUTE but also touched…despite their flirtatious characters. I smile a lot about their dynamic….. for WFR who very dominant in this relationship, and ZYL who is older but in the end he devoted himself for WFR and sometimes being submissive, are very acceptable to my taste. (Omg i LOVE dominant shou trope)
"In the future, when the two of us are together, I’m sure that I’ll have a lot of complaints that you’re not always with me. Not only would I have a lot of complaints, but your body’s health will also be very burdened. En……I’ll have to think about it.”
“When I said that I was really going to give you my heart, I was saying that I love you.”
“My RongRong isn’t pretty when he cries.”
— i know somehow we grab all sweet words from both of them looks like a corny flirt , but the more it goes… their words are more sincere, i will not change my mind.
Maybe the minus thought i can give, their relationship is quite rush after meeting for just several hours . Their intimate relationship is reasonable. But, after just being sex friend… they were like “proposing” after a while making out and solving cases together. What a sweet romantic moment in crime scenes.
Someone had told Wu Fengrong that people liked rainbows. But it turned out that person was unable to accompany him to the end.
But as long as people live, they will continue moving closer to the one they love.
As long as you wait patiently, you will always be able to meet your beloved. — some of words that almost make me burst in tears.
Oh btw if someone remind this with murder orient express, i agree with u. But maybe not as a whole plot , its just slightly the same setting execution.
¡¡¡Y ME ENCANTA!!!
A train mystery where the main suspect in a murder case (Zhou YanLing) boards a train and engages the help of the conductor (Wu FengRong) to clear his name. There are a few plot twists and more than one suspect. Overall the translation was 2/5, plot engagement and suspense 3/5, overall smoothness of writing 2/5. Surprisingly, there was smut that would be considered graphic, and I felt that the relationship was awkwardly abrupt.
Reading the novel is like watching a Hollywood movie with actions in train, hot moments, fun moments, lots of actions, lots of interlocking pieces that the author could fit into 120k 字 so fun, but I didn't feel a lot, exactly like when watching action movies. So given the length, I think it is good enough to give it a try, but the writing style was not my cup of tea.
This was a fast and short novel of a man trying to prove his innocence and everyone is not what they seem on this 30+ hour train ride. With high stakes and a good murder mystery and a couple with great chemistry, it was a really fun ride.
It actually wasn’t just smut to be fair. There were only like 2 chapters of graphic sex scenes and even those were pretty tame. The plot moves forward pretty quickly and was mostly focused on finding who’s the culprit. This is kinda like the movie Murder on the Orient Express.
I found it hard to get past ch 2 because why are they having papapa in the toilets?? It's the second chapter??? They're practically strangers?? Bro got accused of homicide??? It feels like the author is trying to compensate the writing style with 'fan service' TAT
was it little bit strange and plot weirdly complicated? yes but damn the main couple. so good and lovely (and hot). the wild domestic bliss in middle of the murder case was just right.
