Initially, I started this thinking Laurencia had the greatest amount of things to surmount and overcome. Turned out, Ercia was the one who had biggest challenges and heartaches in life.. She was in so much pain for so long that she turned jaded and bitter.
I'd prefer reading a story where Ercia overcame her pain and trauma, to be the better person. Perhaps recognising her limits and overcoming it with her own merits. Laurencia already had it all, so the whole journey it felt a little boring and bland.
Frankly, I was at season 2 finale and did not feel the pull to keep reading about Laurencia anymore.
What a tragic life when even your own twin turns out to be a backstabbing snake! 😤 I love a good revenge manhwa—especially when the protagonist gets a do-over, armed with future knowledge to outplay all the traitors. Naturally, that’s exactly what I was expecting here.
But surprise! This story had a little twist in the formula. Sure, Laurentia knows the big events of her past life, but there are some missing details she wasn’t privy to before, and wow, does that shake things up. It makes the plot even more gripping (though also a bit frustrating at times—like, c’mon, girl, why doesn’t everything fall into place instantly?).
Still, I’m hooked. Watching Laurentia flip her kindness switch to “off” and take control of her life is so satisfying, and her bold move to rope the nation’s hero into a “contract marriage” had me cheering. If betrayal and calculated revenge are your guilty pleasures, you’ll love this! 💅
