The Princess and The American

Rate this book
Tory isn't your ordinary girl. She is a princess in a country where everyone knows her face. She takes comfort in her nightly strolls along the beach, using a cap to hide her face in the dim light.

What she never expected was Adrian, an American inter-railing with his friends for the summer. They meet her at her favourite spot to hide from everyone and from that point on everything changes.

When he finally sees her face, she is surprised to find that he, nor his friends, seem to recognize her. She finds herself feeling like an ordinary girl, a feeling she has always strived to feel.

When he asks her to accompany them on the remainder of their trip, she realizes she could delay having to go back to her life. She simply wants to feel normal, a feeling Adrian seems to allow her to feel while at the same time allowing her to feel seen. Not seen as Princess Vicotria, but as simply Tory.

As Tory defies her parents and goes on this trip with a group of Americans she hardly knows, she knows she is risking a lot, yet feels like she needs to take her chance at living.

As Tory and Adrian get closer, they slowly but surely realize there is more between them than a simple summer romance. But what happens when he finds out who she really is and finds out that she has been lying to him since the start? Will he forgive her and fight for her or will he let her go back to her extravagant life and the man she is trying to be persuaded into marrying?
