Once upon a time …

A baby is born in privilege, blooming under the warmth of his parents’ love. Jealousy sprouts and brings with it malevolent intentions. A king and queen cursed with an empty kingdom. A child abandoned in revenge.

A misfit, the boy should turn hard and cold among the thorns he grows in. Despite lifelong attempts to destroy him, this child does not wither. Underneath his insecurity, he maintains a heart with the tenderest center.

A heart that plays the most beautiful music.

Not far from this misfit but in a whole different world, a dashing prince lives with a crown of expectations adorning his golden head.

A prince raised with honor and duty. A prince expected to marry.

Alas, during a simple walk in the forest, he is enchanted by a different song.

And so a fairy tale is woven, two worlds colliding, secrets revealed, love everlasting…

And a realization that not all fairy tales require a princess.

*Prince is a modern fairy tale forgoing heteronormativity to boldly state that fairy tales are for everyone, no matter who you love (or don’t).

This is an M/M romance.

"My heart isn't that impressive."
"Oh, but it is." He assured me. "To be honest, I wonder how it's stayed so pure and loving considering everything you've endured."
"It's probably the music."
His brows furrowed. "The music?"
"Mm." I agreed, pulling away to lift Gwennie into my arms. "Whenever things got really bad, sometimes I would feel music inside me, and it would give me hope."

this was actually pretty good, but i don't think it was necessary for the book to be this long tbh.

What am I going to do with you? The thought from last night reappeared in my brain.

There was only one answer to that question that I could accept. Keep him.

Oh my, this was just freaking adorable (mainly Fletch was) and so so sweet and wholesome. I loved this book!

It says that the next book in the series is some kind of Tangled retelling but I find this book had a good chunk of the story in it as well. I know if my bitch-mood would’ve have struck I probably would’ve been pretty annoyed with some of the OTT parts and drama but the last few days it hit just right for me.

“You know when you slept here the first time, I was going to put you in the guest bedroom, but you clung to me [in sleep] so tight you only let me put you in this bed.”

I enjoyed Ethan’s (the prince) and Fletcher’s (the misfit) story a lot. Proven by the many awwww’s flying around in my head while reading.

“Please take care of him,” I said quietly. Neo nodded.
“He has cuts on his feet. Please—”
“Ethan?”
His timid voice gave me tunnel vision as everyone else in the room faded away. Turning back, my heart thumped unevenly at the sight of his eyes staring at me from the back of the couch. “What, puppy?”
“Can I come home?”

Can’t get enough of these sweet quotes. #sorrynotsorry

I’m not sure if this was supposed to be a little kinky or not (well I loved that Ethan called him puppy as a pet name and there were some D/s vibes) but when I hear the term good boy one more time in the next few days I’m going to scream! That one was def overused *lmaooo Well, at least these two knew how to use condoms, despite one being clean and the other being a virgin. That def gets some extra credit after the first book in the series *lol

With the prologue, the blurb and knowing Tangled the storyline itself was very predictable but it absolutely didn’t spoil my joy reading it and I loved their HEA. And I loooooved Cambria's Afterword so so much. -To get peak into her head while she was developing this series and esp writing this book.

*the audio was free with my audible subscription (but it wasn’t for me, so I chose reading it instead)

It was probably my fault that I had so many high expectations for this book. I mean it's Camvria Hebert and she qrote #Junkie and I pove that series.

But this book felt like it was written by someone else entirely. Kind of amateurish and no well thought out. From the dialogue to the events and everything in between.

Fletcher being bisexual/pansexual wasn't really fleshed out. He didn't really read like that.

Also... the puppy nickname got on my last nerve. And then the daddy nickname that came out of nowhere literally in the epilogue! WTH? I'm all for daddy kink but this didn't fit AT ALL.

As for the romance... So much sap. Too much sap and it's sayong something for me to say tgis because I love sap. But this was just plain weird.

The "mystery" of this book was very predictable and again... too much sap. The suspense angle was very unbelievable. Did I mention the sap? It was like Aladdin meets The Sleeping Beauty...only sappier 🤦‍♀️

The only highlight of this entire book was Joel Leslie's narration. I think he alone made me finish this audio. The 2 star ratimg is mostly for him. John Solo was ok.
The guest female narrator was good btw.
Oh and the sex scenes were hot, so there’s that.

4.5 stars!

I loved this modern twist and take on Sleeping Beauty. It's also fun and interesting to read a new M/M story outside of this author's #GearkShark series. I really hope she writes more M/M because overall, I've found her books to be so enjoyable. I'm sure her M/F books are good as well, I'm just so totally immersed in M/M that I'm not really interested in reading M/F at this point in time.

Anyway, back to this wonderful book. It's the second in this series which seems to be standalones with retellings of classic Disney fairytale stories. I didn't read the first book, and I think there was a few things I missed with these two by not reading the first, but it wasn't so big or egregious that I was totally lost, and this story does mention it so we can get caught up. These two just met briefly once before in the first book, and that's it.

In this, Fletcher is our Sleeping Beauty, so to speak, and Ethan is his prince. In a modern-day New York that's just tad different than the real worlds (the poorer parts are called "the Grimms"), when Fletcher is just a baby, the villain (aka Millicent), steals him away and into the Grimms. And for 22 years, she's successful at hiding who he is and who she is, and she is verbally, emotionally and sometimes physically abusive to Fletcher.

Instead of Fletcher being protected by three fairy godmothers, he's snatched by the villain herself and raised in poverty and abuse.

But still, Fletcher is one of the sweetest, kindest, most pure-hearted souls despite it all. His scenes with her in this....he just tries to be so kind to her and she's so horrible to him, and reading it is heartbreaking. Especially a flashback he has of when he was a kid and made her something, and she tore it to shreds.

Fletcher has always been able to keep his fresh outlook on life, his sweetness and his heart, but the abuse still touched him, and he still thinks he's unworthy of love. Even though he has the other misfits, his "brothers" and Ivory, who he considers a sister as well, he doesn't believe anyone loves him.

Then along comes Ethan, his prince. Not a real prince, but he's probably the richest person in New York, maybe even the country, except for Ivory. He's an heir to a family fortune and business. A lot is expected of him - like marrying a woman - but Ethan is gay, and he has no interest in any woman. He was betrothed to Ivory for a long time, but they both weren't interested in each other. And now that it has dissolved, Ethan's father is hammering home that Ethan needs to marry another woman. Not for love, but for business.

But Ethan, on a walk in Central Park, comes across Fletcher playing his violin, and he is absolutely captivated. And when they truly talk for the first time, Ethan is enamored. He finds Fletcher absolutely adorable, sweet, kind, and very attractive.

Their love is strong and comes on fast, but it's believable. The way Ethan just becomes consumed by his love for Fletcher, and how Fletcher, while a little more cautious, falls head over heels in love for Ethan. Because Ethan takes care of Fletcher, he wants to protect him, and he's kind to Fletcher and sweet with him. He's not perfect, neither of them are, but he's a Prince Charming for Fletcher.

Fletcher is still also scared. Because abuse isn't something that you can ignore and that doesn't affect you. He's still scared it will all be taken away, or that Ethan will get tired of him and leave him. Ethan has to work to prove his is worthy of Fletcher's heart, and that he won't leave.

So I guess it does makes sense, Fletcher's reaction to the drama around the 60% mark. But this one area is where I take .5 stars off, because I felt it was a tad contrived. I understood Fletcher's reaction, but the way it played out made it more dramatic just for drama's sake, and I don't think it needed it.

It was already dramatic enough, and Fletch would have still made that scene plenty dramatic, without making melodramatic. It was like...of course he , of course he didn't get all the facts, of course. It just seemed silly. Especially when there was plenty of realistic and non-melodramatic ways that this drama unfolded later on anyway.

Like this story had plenty of material for drama without having to resort to melodramatics. For drama for drama's sake. So that's why the .5 for that. It was an unnecessary, imo, wrench thrown in. It could have still been dramatic and angst-y without going to those levels.

But other than that, I loved this. Fletch and Ethan worked so well together, and I'm such a sucker for the sweet, kind, sensitive one and the kind but alpha-dominant type ready to protect what is theirs. Their chemistry was amazing and once we get to sex scenes, they were top notch. Their was real passion and love between these two.

I also love how the author included a few elements from the movie in this, in modern ways. Like Ivory and Marco, her personal designer (or...whatever they call people who help dress you, I'm totally blanking on the name right now lol), fighting over a pink or blue tie for Fletch, or him getting knocked out for reasons I won't say, and Ethan "waking him up" with true love's kiss ;).

This was a wonderful ride, and seeing these two get their happy ending at the end is worth it. And even though this was over 500 pages, I was actually left wanting even more between these two. I just wanted to see more of them being together, and them settling more into their life together, with their found family and not found family as well.

This was a gem, I hope there are more fairytale retellings in this series that are M/M - *wink wink* *nudge nudge* - or just M/M in general in the future with this author. This was such a delight.

Two big thumbs up from me, and I HIGHLY recommend. One of the better M/M fairytale retellings I've come across.

‘Incredulously endeared’

This was a lot darker than her other books. I read the entire #junkie series and fell head over heels in love but this is NOTHING like that. It’s not light hearted or the type of book you re read all the time.

Honestly I don’t think this book is for everyone. Halfway through it did feel like a Wattpad story, in terms of writing and dialogue.

But the story is about Ethan, billionaire-eligible bachelor type who meets Fletcher, amateur violinist who plays on the street, shy-insecure-skittish-I’m not worth it type. They stumble into eachother and form an INSTANT connection/relationship. This could be categorised under insta love from Ethans pov.

He noticed I was cold.

So there were too many moments in the book where I was waiting for a daddy kink to come up. I just got that vibe from their relationship and it was NOT was i was expecting. I knew Fletcher was more on the shy spectrum but his soft side was a lot more childish most probably due to his loss of his childhood.

Too much was happening in this book and there was a predictable twist in the end that didn’t do much for me.

Plot alone. This book was pretty solid. A good flow and I liked the secondary characters a lot probably a little too much. But uhm. Okay. I haven’t read the first book but that didn’t affect my read so. THIS CAN BE READ AS A STAND-ALONE.

Overall this was just an okay read. Which is disappointing because I absolutely LOVE junkie.

There once was a reader who shied away from M/M romances. Unless they were part of a series, I did not seek them out. I admit, I read a couple with a not so great storyline and judged all M/M stories by that. But then along came Cambria Hebert and changed my entire view.
Cambria has an amazing ability to write about love in its truest and most pure form. I will never not read a book written by Cambria Hebert, but her M/M books have become some of my favorites. I honestly didn’t think there could be a better couple than Trent & Drew, but again she proved me wrong! Fletcher and Ethan have stolen the top spot for sure.

Prince was a perfectly crafted love story between Ethan and Fletcher. It was a fairytale retelling like no other! I fell in love with Fletcher in Ivory White. He was so sweet and loving. In Prince, we learn that Fletcher is a man who should have been hardened by the cruel hand he was dealt, but instead was the most pure and loving soul. He was sweet, funny, and just adorable. He will steal your heart just like he did Ethan’s. Ethan was fantastic. I love that he wanted to protect Fletcher and spoil him with all the love, praise and affection there was. The way their story unfolds is fantastic. Your emotions will be all over the place. Fletcher endured such a terrible upbringing but the love and acceptance he finds from Ethan and his misfit brothers will warm your heart, and the ending will leave you a big gooey mess! I loved this book and I can’t wait for more in the House of Misfits Series.

This was a cute modern fairytale about an insanely naive twenty-one year old who grew up in the hood (the aka “the Grimms”) and meets his insanely overprotective “Prince” - kinda like a gay Fifty Shades (minus the soft core BDSM) meets Disney’s Tangled.

Like any fairy tale, you have to suspend disbelief (like how does a kid who lived such a hardened life remain as ridiculously naive at his age), but hey you go with it!

This is book 2 in the Misfit series. Although I haven’t read book one, Ivory White, I did not feel lost or like I was missing anything. I am definitely going to go back and read it though.

This book didn’t hook me right away, but once it did, I couldn’t stop reading. Fletcher and Ethan come from two different worlds, but they are perfectly suited for each other. Fletcher is adorable and very childlike. Ethan has protective alpha tendencies, but also shows vulnerability at times. Their relationship is not easy for many reasons. Though I found it a bit predictable, there is some mystery. This book did get my heart racing. I really enjoyed this story and am looking forward to reading more from this world.

This one did not capture me as much as I had hoped. The author says in the last section that the characters took the plot in their hands and did with it whatever they wanted, and I think maybe that’s why to me it felt rushed in places and not dense enough with ‘moments’ to really make the relationship grow.
It felt a bit too insta-love and although both Fletcher and Ethan are endearing, their dynamics... they just made me a bit nervous at times.

Let me explain. I love how caring Ethan is, so that is great, but Fletcher was portrayed being beyond naive and innocent and puppy-like, that he ended up sounding a lot like a child. Now, coupled with Ethan’s strong will and assertion, it seemed like there was an imbalance and it almost felt like Fletcher was too young to even be in a relationship.

Of course he is in his early twenties and that is just his personality, but it just brought me out of the narration a lot while I was reading. I enjoyed the last part the most, because it’s when we see most things happening, but I had wished the prologue hadn’t already basically told us the plot twist from the very beginning.

Overall, it was an okay read, but I didn’t connect with the characters’ romance as much as I usually do with this author’s character, and the plot per se felt quite rushed. The entire thing spans a matter of... days? Maybe a couple weeks? And besides the final ball, there didn’t seem to be many significant milestones that deepened their connection as it seemed to have been present for the very start.

I’m going to do something a little different for me and give this 3.75/5. I’m introducing decimals other than .5 because giving it a 3.5 seems a little low, but it didn’t quite reach a solid 4 for me.

I really enjoyed this book. Fletcher and Ethan are delightful characters to read from, and I definitely enjoyed the premise of a modern-day fairytale retelling. And that dedication? Love it.

I think that what I struggled with was a mix of the length, the difference in Fletcher’s character is his chapters vs Ethan’s chapters, and also how much his insecurities were brought forward.

Generally I love long romances, but I did feel as though this dragged a little. I found myself checking the page numbers a bit more frequently toward the end.

As for Fletcher’s character, reading from his own point of view, we get to see his strength and his intelligence, but I felt as though he always seemed rather childish and incredibly naive when reading from Ethan’s perspective, and something about that transition didn’t quite work for me throughout this book.

The last thing I mentioned were how much Fletcher’s insecurities were played on. Of course, I understand why there were brought forward so much, but every single issue that Ethan and Fletcher’s relationship faced was founded on Fletcher’s insecurities, and it just seemed a tad overused by the end of the book.

Overall, definitely enjoyed the story!! I adored the characters, I loved reading about them, I loved the dual POV and how we also got to read from ‘Villain’’s POV - I thought that was rather refreshing! There were just some things in this book that didn’t do it for me, but I’ve read other reader’s reviews and know that so many people love this book!!

10 STARS!!!

I can’t remember the last time I loved a book this much!

This is exactly everything I wanted when I picked up a book the other day.

Fairytale retelling, touches of Sleeping Beauty, Tangled and Cinderella but it’s two men. This book made my heart so full! Fletcher is the most innocent hopeful soul even though life has been ugly and cruel to him. Ethan falls for him so fast and is drawn to his unyielding heart and his joy at every turn.

There is so much hurt/comfort in this book, which I LOVE. If I could sum up the book in one word it would be SOFT. Oh it is so SOFT - heart melts into puddle - Ethan is soft for Fletcher, Fletcher is just soft at heart and his whole innocence and purity - it’s just best ray of sunshine. GAH. I absolutely love these characters in this book more than anything else I’ve read in recent memory. I could probably read an entire second novel about these two. Give me all the soft feels for these boys!!!!

Thank you Cambria for writing this beautiful book and listening to you characters!

“To me, it wouldn’t matter if it was a girl or a boy if they made me feel that way because love isn’t specific and a heart goes by feelings… not by gender.”

Cambria Hebert was one of the first authors I read when it comes to M/M romance and her #Hashtag series is one of my favorite and most memorable series that I've read.

I haven't read the first book in this series but I wasn't lost at all when I read Prince. Although, quite predictable it was a quite cute read. I loved the protective side of Ethan and his relationship was with Fletcher. I'm excited and hopeful that the rest of the friends (more like brothers) get their own book!

I love Drew and Trent. I re-read their books over and over again.
I like Cambria Hebert's writing style.
So, picking this book was a no brainer, even though I hesitated because of the fairy tale-vibe.
But I did start reading it and did not like it actually.

I don't like those alpha/submissive stories. It does not feel natural to me. Fletcher felt like a 13 year old boy and Ethan his daddy, no thank you.
You can be a bit clumsy, but it felt like every time Fletcher stood up, he fell down again and Ethan had to safe him.
They also fell in love within the first chapter or so to speak, so that was a bit surprising.

I quit reading halfway through the book and that's actually a first.

Better next time!

This is a real shame, because I very much enjoyed the GearShark series. I know it's supposed to be a fairytale, but the whole thing made me cringe. It actually made me feel quite sick at times too. See, the way Fletcher is portrayed is so naive and childish, it is in fact childlike or dim-witted. There's even a part where Ethan calls him simple. That word has two meanings, but we don't know which Ethan means, or which Fletcher understands. This is in no way a sexy dynamic, and I'm surprised more ppl haven't picked up on the ick-factor..

OMG this book drove me insane. I hated this m/m romance ( which I usually love). The relationship felt icky. The older male constantly referred to the other male as puppy and come here. Ugh! And the younger man was just like his pet, I feel bad writing this review. But this was sadly a disappointment for me.

🎻 the mc (prince) reminded me SO FUCKING MUCH of my Lazzie boo bear, it's traumatizing because WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF?! anyways, Prince isn't 'Melt you with my Glare' Lazarus, but he's more like: what would Lazzie boo be like if he was the ultra of maximum of soft y'know
🖤 The jail scene is just FUCKING ICONIC. my jaw had hit the floor in awe and I literally stood up and clapped for him.
🖤 Zaddy Prince is the best fucking thing I've ever heard and he is an icon and a legend.
🖤 Just the fucking WAY he loved Puppy was so enchanting. If there is one way to be loved, it is the way to be treasured, to be fucking owned by Ethan.

💎 Can we just talk about E's name for Fletcher is PUPPY?????!! *SOBBING, DONT TALK TO NY SLEEP DEPRIVED MIND*

💎I have no idea who the hell Sleeping Beauty is (my childhood was one tree hill, tyvm) but I'm guessing it's the Maleficent movie and aurora being the beauty?? Well, I thought this was a Tangled retelling and thought tangled and sleeping beauty were the same so 🤡🤡🤡 also, HOW is this a sleeping beauty retelling??? It SCREAMS TANGLED! Like the Plot??? Helloooooooo

💎 2 WORDS. fucking K-DRAMA VIBES!!!!!! If you watch kdrama, you'll fucking know what I mean by THOSE SWOONY MOMENTS and this book is one whole collection of ALL OF THOSE MOMENTS. like the JACKET SCENES??? HELLO???! EXCUSE ME, have MERCY on my soul!
Did it really matter if someone bothered to notice I was cold?
It matters to me.
Especially now. Today. Sometimes it felt like people looked through me and not at me, so when someone noticed something as trivial as being cold, it meant something.
Not only did Ethan notice, but he did something about it.

💎 Their communication is next level even when I wanted to die sometimes cus I feel second hand embarrassment from simply WALKING.
“To me, it wouldn’t matter if it was a girl or a boy if they made me feel that way because love isn’t specific and a heart goes by feelings… not by gender.”

🫶 Truly, this book was a jem, I'm sorry for my SORRY ASS review, I wish I could give a better deserving review for this book, But I simply cannot find the time to squeeze shit in my schedules (don't ask me how I read a 600 page book in less than 12 hours) and speaking of pages, this book is 560 Pages, and let me tell you, every SECOND was worth it. Every detail, every word, every scene was fucking treasured. Don't let long books fear you, the magic of a long book is something to treasure

🚫What I didn't like🚫

🛑 I'm not surprised this book did it, it's a series, DUH, but I just HATE how the MC's met in the first book. I didn't get to their first interaction and meeting and just general assumptions of one another. I hate it when series does it (but is a bias hypocrite when my Nephilim warriors slay at it) and this wouldn't be an issue.... If book 1 wasn't a MF... 🤡🤡🤡🤡 WHY CAN'T CAMBRIA JUST STRICTLY WRITE MM BOOKS 🤧😭🤧

🛑 just some nitpicky thingy majigs that pierce me like a fucking thorn to not be able to like the 5 stars so don't mind my dumbassery

Initial reactions
The author's note of this book is truly ethereal 👏👏👏👏 I forgot how such a kind soul Cambria is.

Very cute but I wish the praise kink had hit a little harder👀 I wanted that to be better and I agree that this one did drag for me but Fletcher and Ethan were adorable and I love them!!!

This might have been five stars if I hadn't read Red first😂 or a more enthusiastic four if I hadn't read that epilogue😭 but I enjoyed the little misfit family either way💖

I was so excited when Cambria announced she was writing a new MM romance. Trent and Drew are some of my fav characters of hers and ever so I was excited to meet her new MM couple and you guys!! These two are right up there with Trew! My heart, they are so precious.

I fell in love with Fletcher in Ivory White. There is no doubt he was my favorite character and reading his book only solidified that for me. He is the sweetest, purest creature. His heart is so big and so pure. There is no way you won’t love him.
It was such a delight to read his book. He’s so sweet and funny. He is like a little kid experiencing things for the first time, his excitement and appreciation for simple things he was deprived of experiencing. My heart hurt for him but was also a puddle of goo (just like Ethan’s).

I loved Ethan a lot too! He didn’t get to see him a whole lot in Ivory White but from the little we did, I knew there would be so much to him and boy there was. I loved his protective side. The way he just would do anything for Fletcher and always tried to make him feel safe. Gah, these two!! And then his alpha side, damn!! These two were hawt!!

Things happened fast for these two but their connection, the way they just fit so well even though they were from two completely different worlds/life styles. The way Fletcher’s music connected them as well. Gah it was all so beautiful and kismet-like. It was definitely an insta-love story but so well done!

And the plot of the whole book was pretty incredible too! Fletcher’s story will definitely play with your emotions. He’s been through so much in life and yet he is so pure, so kindhearted, so forgiving. The way the story ended really warmed my heart. He deserved all the love in the world and I’m so glad he got what he had been missing all his life.

Already can’t way for the next one. I’m loving this series so much.

A fairytale retelling like no other! Fletcher was such a beautiful soul that had been kicked around all his life but no matter how hard he was kicked he bounced right back. The streets may have taught him how unfair life truly is but he always had a small amount of hope that he carried within himself. He was mistreated from an early age by the one person who was supposed to love him unconditionally so always hearing how much he was hated really messed with him, but in this he found his own family in the Misfits. My heart shattered every time he felt like he wasn’t enough or was so unlovable, but when he found Ethan, he seemed to gain some peace. Ethan was the epitome of Prince Charming, he had the looks, the money, and grew up wanting for nothing but he always felt so empty on the inside. Ethan knew he was expected to be the absolute best and live up to his prestigious family name, but he wanted more, and he found that in Fletcher. When these two finally caught each other’s eye again it was like their souls recognized each other in that moment and things would never be the same. They had a lot of obstacles to overcome with insecurities, dreadful parents, media, rich vs. poor but they had a love that was undeniable. This was such a fantastic story of finding one’s self, that there is always hope, love is love and it can conquer it all. Beautifully and Perfectly done!!

“I’ve never really thought about it in terms of boy and girl. To me, It’s just love.”
“I’d met him in the hospital. He charmed me. I’d stumbled upon him in the forest. He enchanted me.”
“He loved an unlovable. He made a misfit feel like he belonged. He claimed me in front of my family and in front of his.”
“ Even now when I run, it’s in your direction I turn.”
“Fletcher was the flower that impossibly grew from a crack in the concrete. He was the tree that did not suffocate in a raging forest fire. He was the rainbow that stretched over the sky in the center of a rainstorm."

Prince is the second book in the "House of misfits" series. It's loosely inspired by sleeping beauty. We met our main leads, Ethan and Fletcher, in the previous book.

I had a great time following Ethan and Fletcher. They were so damm cute and had me giggling so much throughout the book. Sometimes they were a bit too sweet for my liking, but overall I was into it. It's a bit less over the top drama than the first book, but there aren't many things happening besides the characters'relationships and struggles. This wasn't too heavily influenced by the fairytale, but it felt a bit like tangled to me, with the whole kidnapping a child thing. I loved the first half of the story, I had so much fun reading them, developing their relationship. It did get a bit slow after the 60% mark, but it picked up at the end. The big kiss scene at the ball had me screaming at the end.

Yes,Fletcher is a cinnamon bun type character. Shy, loving, sweet, naive, but he also has some struggles. He feels unworthy/unlovable, scared and has some trauma going on. I thought he was very cute. Yes, he was childish at times, he could be really naive, too forgiving, but he also reminded me so much of a Disney princess. And I just found him so damm cute and I really liked that he didn't hide his feelings and just showed them. Ethan is really different, he has the whole prince feel to him, rich, protective, everyone likes him. I'm not sure how to describe him, without making him sound boring tbh. There is just something different about him that really made me enjoy his character. I loved how he fell in love with Fletcher, how he protected him, called him puppy, how patient he was with his trauma and, of course, how Ethan spoiled Fletcher.

These two had great chemistry. I loved their relationship, how they talked to each other and got over their struggles. I do feel that they were having a bit too many smutty scenes in the middle, every conversation was ending with them in bed, which slowed the enjoyment for me a bit. The other characters were so fun. I laughed a lot about Neo and Earth's reaction to Ethan. They felt like overbearing parents. The "suspense" plot isn't really there, we just focus more on the emotional parts. The ending was interesting though. I loved how everything was wrapped up with the parents.

I really adored this story between them. But it was sometimes a bit to sappy for me, the smutty scenes were to much at one point and I wanted a bit more mistery/suspense at the end. Overall i had a great time, i laughed/giggled and swooned a lot. And i'm really excite to see Earth's story next!

Rating: 4,0 stars.

This story kind of reminds me of Enchanted, the movie, with "true love's kiss" and the evil villain at the ball. Fletcher was really hopelessly optimistic and endearingly cute.

I'm looking forward to reading, but by the synopsis I already know that it will be worth it.

prince is the second in a series of 5 standalones but now i need to read all of the others because i loved the world @cambriahebert created. all 5 are based on classic fairytales too so i’m pumped!

there are a few trigger warnings like physical and emotional abuse from a parent and explicit sex. so keep that in mind.
