FROM THE MOMENT HE SAW HER, HE WANTED HER. THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS, SO DID SOMEONE ELSE. NOAH WILDE I've spent the last eight years working hard for the position I hold in our company, leaving little time to focus on play, but all of that is about to change.
Wearing a tray full of spilled coffee isn't how I imagined I'd ever run into someone like Hazel and now, she's all I think about. She has a quick wit and an innocent heart and I'm instantly intrigued.
She thinks I'm playing around but I'm going for keeps and I'm not the only one. Something isn't right and every step we take forward is met with a step back.
Someone is trying to sabotage our connection and I need to get to the bottom of it before I lose her forever.
HAZEL MASTERS After high school, my life went on without me while I lost almost everything I held dear.
I put my future on hold to help my mother care for my dying father and watched, helplessly, as he lost his business then his home to those with deeper pockets than his, before he lost his life.
Now, I am working hard to get back on track and help my mom build ourselves up to a comfortable life when I bump into a mysterious stranger—literally. Our first meeting is a disaster and he ends up leaving me with more questions than answers when he only offers me his first initial—N.
I should focus on my classes. I should search for stability. I can't afford to play games with my second shot at having a life. The lessons of my past are screaming at me to walk away.
So why can't I?
* Run Wilde is the second book in the RAVENOUS series (following Step Darkly). It is not necessary to read the first in order to enjoy Noah & Hazel's story.
Luna Kayne is a multi-genre romance author located in Canada. She writes dark romantic suspense with a hint of humor and a heaping dose of angst. Her men are dominant and often stubborn, and her women are often underestimated.
Luna enjoys gardening, dislikes long winters, and she doesn’t understand how commas work (thankfully, her editor does).
Romance. Heat. Suspense. Run Wilde is the perfect combination of all of that.
Hazel Masters is a student who got a late start of school while taking care of her parents. She is working hard to earn money and get her degree to help her and her mom out when she runs into N. Noah Wilde is a businessman and working his is primary focus. Until he literally runs into Hazel. From the moment Noah and Hazel meet there is a connection. The two of them are both drawn to each other. They balance each other out. Noah brings a sense of calm to Hazel that she never knew she needed and gives her a way to release herself and truly discover who she is. Noah is protective and caring and Hazel brings all that out in him.
There is some suspense and drama mixed into the story with one of Hazel friends who may have some ulterior motives, especially when it comes to Hazel. He will do anything to get Hazel and isn’t afraid to take action.
I loved Hazel and Noah’s relationship. I loved getting more of Josh and Emilia throughout the story and getting to see more of their relationship and see it grow even more. Run Wilde hooked me from the start and I couldn’t put it down.
If you’re looking for a steamy romance with some suspense this is one to check out.
Hilarious. Steamy. Provocative. Addicting. There aren't enough words to explain how amazing this story is. At times, I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. The creativity of certain scenes, along with the endless banter between the main characters is captivating. At other times, my heart was beating out of my chest with anxiety and worry. This story is packed full of steamy scenes that jump to life and make the temperature rise 20 degrees in the room. This book has it all. The characters develop flawlessly from the very beginning of the book, making it difficult to put down! A MUST READ!!
The second book in the Ravenous series and while Run Wilde can easily be read as a standalone I’d recommend reading Step Darkly first as events and characters from that book are mentioned here. Hazel is a mature college student who put off her education to look after her dying father. She’s working part-time in a coffee shop where she literally bumps into Noah Wilde spilling an entire tray of coffee over him. He instantly spots something in her that calls to his dominant nature but realises that although Hazel seems attracted to him, she might not be aware of exactly what it is that she desires so he slowly begins to entice her into learning more. But Hazel has attracted more than Noah’s attention.
I loved that Noah took the time to ease Hazel into his lifestyle. She had been used to being the responsible one in her family so to start with she couldn’t see that she needed someone to take control from her. It is a bit of a slow burner but I preferred that to Hazel becoming an instant convert to the Dom/sub life. It also added to the build up of sexual tension between them. The suspense element of the story was a bit predictable but it was still well written and I enjoyed it. It also added to the character of Marcus who is the hero of the next book in this series.
I did prefer Run Wilde to the previous book in this series where I struggled a bit with the characters especially Josh but after reading more from him here, I’m seeing a whole new man. Obviously the love of a good woman has been a good influence on him.
I love Luna Kayne, I think this is my sixth book of hers that I have read and this is the first I didn’t love. I really liked the plot of the book, I just had a hard time connecting with the characters.
The suspense of the book was great and I was anxiously awaiting the tipping point as Hazel’s stalker became more and more unhinged wondering what extreme lengths he would go to next.
I loved that Hazel was a slightly holder FMC. I was looking forward to the maturity that a 26 year old university student would have after delaying her education to care for her ailing father. Unfortunately all that time caring for her father meant she didn’t get out much and she was incredibly trusting and naive. So much so that it got her into trouble a few times. I loved that she was such a kind and caring person who always wanted to see the best in people, but there were several times when I wanted to yell at her for being so trusting. I did however enjoy her road to self discovery and watching her become a more confident person who learned the value of true friends.
I really wanted to like Noah, I liked him a lot in Step Darkly and was so excited for his book. But I just didn’t like how strongly he came onto Hazel in the beginning. Treating her like his sub when he knew she was completely ignorant to his lifestyle. He was all about communication and consent which was great. I just wish he had eased her in a little slower.
It was great getting to see more of Joshua and Emilia and I can’t wait for Marcus’ book.
After having read Step Darkly, i started looking forward to this second installment! I picked it up and got right back into the Ravenous world! I enjoyed this second book!
Hazel and Noah's journey captured my attention! Hazel is hard working and trying to get through school. As she's trying to serve coffee and collides with N aka Noah. It's then that both Noah and Hazel's worlds get shaken up. As their paths keep crossing, will they take a chance on their attraction? and can they handle everything thrown their way?
I really liked how quickly Hazel and Noah got me into their story and their memorable first meeting. I didn't know how these two would tackle things in their lives and their feelings which got me even more into their story. Just like with the first installment, these two had me feeling many things all throughout. I admired Hazel and Noah had me blushing. I enjoyed the chemistry between these two.
With Run Wilde, Ms.Kayne has created a good and dark read that had me on edge! I am looking forward to getting into the third installment, Cry Wolfe next!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Grey's Promotions / the author*
I really loved Noah and Hazel's story. Noah is into bondage which I absolutely love reading about, especially the art form of shibari. Hazel is really naive and innocent, which I found really endearing for the most part. A few times had me laughing in disbelief a bit, but overall I loved her. And the main storyline was really great and full of suspense.
It's hard to say a whole lot about this one without giving anything away. But I really loved the villain in this book. They were conniving, scary and ruthless in their pursuit for Hazel's affection. The things we discovered about them in the end probably shouldn't have surprised me, but my jaw dropped a bit... It ended so well too.
I really loved Hazel and Emilia's relationship in this story. It was nice to see Emilia gain a friend who she could confide her secrets too and the same for Hazel. I know Marcus and Elle are next, but I'm really hoping that we get to see more of Nina in the future. I absolutely loved her character and meeting Luca at the end had me screaming a little inside.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "RUN WILDE" I thoroughly enjoyed this interesting, intriguing, suspense filled drama, humor, steam, angst, twists that has you turning the pages. Hazel Masters puts her future on hold to help her mother after father died losing his business to those with deeper pockets, now she's back at work helping her mom rebuild themselves up to a comfortable life when she bumps into a complete stranger their first meet a total disaster. Noah Wilde spent the last 8yrs working hard for the position he holds in the company no time for play but he can't get Hazel Masters the girl he bumped into off his mind he wants her but he's not the only one who does. I definitely recommend to get this well written story someone is sabotaging the connection between Noah & Hazel he wants to figure out who it is before he loses her forever, will they get a HEA, will he find out who causing the problems for them, its a must read to see what happens you won't be disappointed.
“You may be fine for a while, but eventually those pieces of us that aren't properly healed turn into jagged shards, and they begin slicing away at us from the inside out.”
I want to preface this with saying I loved the plot of this book and I absolutely love Luna’s writing–I’ve been on a kick lately reading all of her books and I absolutely won’t be stopping now. I had a really difficult time relating to Hazel, though. She was a bit too naive for me and I just wanted more development a touch quicker.
I really enjoyed the underlying plot in this one–the villain was so well written and ruthless in his desires and pursuit of Hazel’s affection. He became more and more unhinged and dangerous as the story progressed and I was gasping as each new detail was revealed.
Right after the plot, Noah was the saving grace of this story. I am obsessed with his dominating energy and the lengths to which he would go to protect Hazel. Watching him introduce Hazel to his lifestyle and helping her to accept her desires and darkest thoughts was everything. It was also such a bonus to get to meet Marcus through Noah and I really enjoyed their relationship. I’m so excited to dive into his story next and see what unfolds.
It's a great read if you're not into really dark reads.
This is a nice book to kick back and read. I've been reading a lot of very very dark romance books lately. Some so dark, which I thoroughly love, that I wanted something in the gray area. It's not Vanilla but it's more of an introduction to soft BDSM. Which fits because Hazel is knew to it all! Noah and his friends are just great people and I enjoyed seeing their romance bloom. There's a bad dude in it and of course he's met his match with Hazel! Push a very nice girl to far well lets just say her inner bad ass comes out. Everyone has their HEA's , except for the bad dude! It's a perfect rainy day read! The writing is excellent and I will read more of her book.
After reading Joshua's and Emilia's book, I was super happy to see Noah get a story as I loved his friendship with Joshua. Seeing that extended to this book was amazing. Especially seeing the roles reversed for once. It was also amazing to see how comfortable Noah was with Emilia. Hazel and Noah were so perfect for each other and I loved watching their dynamic and the progression on both sides come through. I also loved the friendship that bloomed between Hazel and Emilia. This book held up to the first one in the same way. Steam, spice, suspense, angst, heartbreak and action. This book had it all. So good!
I started it and was interested in the dynamic between N and Hazel, but it quickly went down hill for me. I like a good Dom/sub dynamic, but not to the point where the sub loses all sense of self. Hazel went from being the independent woman with drive to succeed to a puppet with a severe case of Body Betrayal Syndrome. And still, I pushed on because I wanted to see if she finally grew a pair of brass tits...then...the author began hinting at public sex--and I was OUT. Not. My. Kink. I DNFed it as soon as BBS-ridden Hazel, with a case of sex pheromone loopies, started thinking that 'yeah, I just might like being boned in front of an audience'.
I wasn't sure where this was going in the beginning but it took off quick. Hazel has been shouldering life all on her own for quite a while. Along comes Noah to help her and he's just what she needs. He's the right mix of supportive and stern and really wants to help her not just control her. His guidance allows her to see what she likes in the BDSM world in a safe and consensual way. Too bad she's got a stalker that has to be dealt with but that works out well. Well-written with great characters.
Hazel and Noah are a really good coupling. They have complimenting emotional & physical needs that fit into the BDSM kink. The story is well written with a lot of complex character development, along with the suspense of Frenemy/Stalker Paul. It's filled with drama, intense sexual heat, and a bit of mystery.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is Noah and Hazel's story. I fell in love with Noah in the first book (Step Darkly) because he is one of the side characters. He's caring and gentle but there is a dominant side to him that makes him even sexier in this book.
Hazel knows deep down she has a darker side but doesn't think it's "normal". She meets Noah and he shows her it's okay and guides her through it.
BDSM 101 hot scenes with a narcissistic jerk in the mix
If you enjoy anything about BDSM this you will enjoy. The leading female is learning about herself and kinks she knew nothing about.mix that with her leading man who is teaching her about it all plus falling in love.now bring in an obsessed loser with anger issues and a cool driver /bodyguard and fun roommate. Perfect book.
Not even going to give this one star because I barely finished chapter 2. I got the insta creeps from this guy. He introduces himself as N. WTF? 🤣🤣🤣 then he starts going all dom on her and treating her like she’s already his sub before knowing anything about her or hardly speaking to her. Nope, no thanks. Lol!
I didn’t read the first book, just thought this sounded interesting from Facebook or something. 🫣
I really enjoyed this book. About people finding each other and giving themselves a chance even though it could be risky. Absolutely love Noah and Hazel and their journey together and also bringing in Joshua and Emelia. I cannot wait for the next in this series. A wonderful read x
I have read this story before and when this happens I usually stop ,well not this time and has be for I enjoyed it again.Noah is good for Hazel,he keeps her grounded and helps explore new things. Hazel blossoms under Noah, unlike she would with Paul who is sick and deranged. Lots of action.
This book is exciting from the first chapter. I loved the dynamic between Hazel and Noah. Their chemistry was intoxicating!! I also loved that the characters chose each other at every opportunity. The adversity in the book made them stronger rather than tear them apart.
OMG!!! Noah is my new bookboyfriend. Holy cow, this man is good at reading people. As soon as he met Hazel, he knew she needed him as he did her. This book had some ups and downs in emotional, hot scences, and funny ones. Amazing second entry to the Ravenous series.
I liked this story, it kept me interested and man was it wild 😜. I love Noah 🥰 man he is just the right amount of commanding, caring and punisher to satisfy his and her needs.
The only downside is that it ended kind of abruptly. Yes the story ended and they are happy together but I feel like the ending needed more?
Hazel is working hard going to school, making money and taking care of her mom. Hazel runs into Noah and sparks fly. This is a fast-paced read with loads of drama, fun and steam. Great characters with lots of depth and hot. I liked it.
I loved Hazel and Noah they are a great and fun couple. The storyline is well written and developed with plenty of twists throughout the pages. I received a copy and am voluntary leaving my honest review.
This was really good continuation of the series. The main part is the story with the girl, now that I think about it, there isn't much information about Noah's past. I'd say it's almost more of a romantic suspense book with elements of BDSM. Already waiting for the next in His series.
Came across this author and had to give it a chance. Definitely did not disappoint. Loved the characters and their story. Heat, sexiness and well written.
This was an ok read, I didn’t like the fact that it was so similar to another popular read. It didn’t really grab my attention had its more lows than highs and I found myself distracted but it wasn’t bad.
I could only make it to chapter 11, I'm sorry I found this book totally boring. If a book can't suck me into the story by this time, I don't want to waste my time. I did sadly waste 99 cents. I say this book should be a hard no! Shirley
I knew I was going to like Noah from the first few pages I read. I disliked Paul because he gave off bad vibes. All in all I found this book very interesting and I truly enjoyed it.
