This is a suspense romance, and this is the 4th book in the To Serve and Seduce series. I think the suspense part of this book was ok, but it was not great. The romance part I really enjoyed, but this romance was a slow burn one. I loved the characters and the storyline in this book. There was some twists in this book that I did not see coming. I have to say this book started out very slow moving, but the pacing picks up quickly. I was not pulled into this book from the beginning, but it pulled me in by 20% of this book. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Harlequin Romantic Suspense) or author (Deborah Fletcher Mello) via NetGalley, so I can give honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

I think this is one of those instances where I should have read the previous books in the series first, as that may have given me more of a foundation, but I did still enjoy this story. The beginning was pretty slow for my taste but once it got going it was an enjoyable read with some good twists. I would say that the suspense was on the low side of suspense, but the romance portion was good. I did feel like the setting and situations were very realistic and probably true in their depictions, and enjoyed how real that felt. I would definitely read more of this author's writing and may pick up the other books in the series to see if they do lend more to the story.
Stalked by Secrets is entertaining romantic suspense. The pacing keeps things moving along, and the characters are interesting - not necessarily all likable, but certainly interesting. Neema and Davis are likable and they have good chemistry, so it's pretty easy to get in line with the romance. The suspense is also good with plenty of secrets to keep me turning the pages. I didn't realize that this was part of a series until after I picked it up, but it does stand alone, so I didn't have any problem following the story. I will say now that I've met the Black family, I definitely want to go back and check out the earlier books. This is also my first time checking out Deborah Fletcher Mello, and I like what she does with the genre, so I'll be watching to see what she does next.
As I enter the world of the Black family for the fourth time I am thoroughly in awe, this story centers around baby boy Davis Black. Will the secrets destroy him, or just knock him down a peg? Can the secrets demolish his newfound love? Enjoyed revisiting the parents and other siblings. This story had humor and highly emotional moments. A home run for Deborah Fletcher Mello, I look forward to another story in the To Serve and Seduce Series.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review, thank you NetGalley.
I must admit it kinda confusing at first because apparently this is the 4th book from the series, it's like I need to read the previous books, and it's a bit slow at the beginning, but once the suspense kicks in, everything is so good...especially with that twist, I really didn't see it coming, gotta love the book that surprised you.
An enjoyable entertaining suspense romance read, that you should try.
Neema is a journalist who is looking into a Politian Davis for maybe having some ties to come crimals. What she finds out is more then she ever thought she would get.
I enjoyed this book. There was plenty going on to keep me hooked. With the death, romance, and family drama there was plety to keep any readers interested. Highly Recommend!
Sexy, chilling and gripping from beginning to end, romantic suspense fans will not be able to resist Deborah Fletcher Mello’s latest novel, Stalked by Secrets.
Journalist Neema Kamau is willing to do whatever it takes to get to the truth. Nothing and nobody is going to stop Neema from uncovering the secrets people who stalk the corridors of power would go to any lengths to keep hidden. When she hears rumors that politician Davis Black might have links to organized crime, Neema vows to get close to him and to expose all of his shady dealings. Neema does not usually have any problems keeping her personal and professional lives separate, but then again Neema has never met a met a man as intelligent, charismatic and handsome as Davis Black…
Davis Black has got enough on his plate. He certainly does not want or need any further complications, but when fate brings Neema Kamau into his life, all of a sudden the beautiful woman becomes the only thing Davis can think about. Despite knowing that he cannot afford to take his eye off the ball, Davis finds himself intrigued by the smart, intelligent and attractive woman and when temptation proves impossible to say no to, surrendering to the overwhelming desire that sizzles between the two of them quickly proves inevitable. But just how well does Davis know Neema? Is she all that she seems or is Neema keeping a very big secret from him?
Neema never imagined that she would end up falling for Davis, but it’s not just her unexpected feelings that she has to worry about as a dangerous stalker has the two of them in their sights willing to do whatever it takes to tear them apart. Is a future together within Neema and Davis’ reach? Will Neema end up losing Davis if she confesses the truth? Or will their stalker not give her the chance to tell him how she really feels?
Deborah Fletcher Mello’s Stalked by Secrets is everything readers could possibly want from a romantic suspense novel: fabulous characters, intense emotion, red-hot chemistry and nail-biting intrigue which makes it absolutely impossible to put this book down. Neema and Davis are two wonderful characters readers will fall for and their story is guaranteed to keep readers up way past their bedtime.
An immensely enjoyable tale of danger and desire, Deborah Fletcher Mello has written another unmissable novel with Stalked by Secrets.
Romantic and Suspense are not two things I look for when picking out romance novels, but the To Serve and Seduce series has me expanding my palette. Stalked by Secrets grabbed me from page one. I was thinking, "OOh this is about to get good," Davis slamming those dishes has to have consequences. I loved that Neema politely corrected the pronunciation of her name. I love that a "dysfunctional" family can also be supportive of one another even down to mental health. I loved the respect that the children showed their parents. I just appreciated the realism. Because I love romance, I loved Davis going after Neema from the start. Loved it when Davis said "Then it's a good thing we found each other when we did." As far as suspense goes, I did not expect a murder so soon. So of course, I am guessing and thinking of motives throughout the rest of the book. I was surprised who was the murderer. The declaration of why Gaia was killed, I think can still have a twist in a future book. I can't wait to see who and what Ginger really is as I think there is another story going on here. This series will go on my "its worth rereading" book shelf.
Neema Kamau is certain that there is some possible organized crime going on when she spots politician Davis Black and the money exchange with Balducci while both are sitting in her family restaurant having dinner. The thing is what Neema thinks she sees and knows is not what it appears to be, but she is certain there is a story there and she is determined to find out just what is going on even if that means getting close to Davis in order to get what she wants what she doesn't count on is falling in love this relationship is a slow build. I love the Black family and more secrets are revealed. Can't wait for the next book in this series!
The Installment this time had some good things going on, and a slight let down for me. It just seemed as though with all of the smart people in the Black family, someone would have seen the plot twist coming. Don't get me wrong, I loved the story, but I was expecting a Mingus-style event. A few areas in the story I was left wondering what happened. Mingus story was the measure for each of the subsequent books. Overall, it was a good read with a suspenseful component.
Stalked by Secrets is book four in the To Serve and Seduce series, that just keeps on getting better and better. Alderman Davis Black the youngest of the prolific Black family of Chicago is “gifted” with many secrets that could destroy his ang his entire family’s legacy. Prize winning reporter Neema Kamau is determined to uncover those secrets. What she discovers will change her forever. On a personal note being a native Chicagoan Ms Mello mastery of Chicago and Chicago politics makes me fall in love with my city all over again. Bring on Book Five!!
Thank you to @harlequinbooks @harlequinpublicityteam for a copy of this book. This is book 4 of the To Serve and Seduce series and can be read as stand alone. I read this without reading the other books and didn’t feel lost. I don’t read too many romantic suspense and enjoyed the pace the book with the twist I didn’t see coming. I liked seeing the friendship of Neema and Davis develop and also the strong family ties of the Black family. I will need to check out the rest of the series. #asbwbookreview

An enjoyable entertaining suspense romance read, that you should try.
Two very sweet characters get together, Davis and Neema are just young and very much into each other. Even though their relationship started on a lie and even Simone mean ass outed Neema, they found their way back to the friendship and love they had for each other.
This story didn’t have any steamy love scenes like the others and it was a reflection of the two characters both having their own insecurities and their family values especially with Neema’a family being from Kenya.
Excellent read, I enjoyed the characters and storyline. Davis and Neema had instant attraction. But secrets in their relationship, as well as, in his family was weighing heavy on Davis mine. There was suspense and intrigue in this book. The Black family has quite a bit going on, and I look forward to the next installment.
THANK YOU MRS. MELLO FOR WRITING THIS SERIES BECAUSE I'M LOVING THE BLACK FAMILY THE MORE I READ THEIR STORIES. DAVIS AND NEEMA ARE MY FAVORITE SO FAR. I LOVE THEM BECAUSE I KNOW THAT THEY WERE NOT LOOKING FOR A RELATIONSHIP, BUT THE CHEMISTRY WAS INSTANT. I'M GLAD THEY FOUND EACH OTHER.
What an absolutely INCREDIBLE series that I don't want to end! The drama, the secrets, the love, the family bond, and in this story, the dog!! I fell in love with that sweet and protective Rotty, Titus!! Get this book and the entire series. If you love a good crime story mixed with romance, this is for you!!! The Blacks, are a force to be reckoned with!!!
What started as a story for Neema turned to love for a lifetime. Davis and Neema's attraction was immediate and lasting. This story was also filled mystery, danger and manipulation. Eenjoyed it.
3.5 out of 5 Stalked by Secrets was the fourth in this series, I felt this was a good story, kinda of predictable and a lil drugged out. I loved the bond between the brothers and sisters, such a close knit family. Lies and secrets can destroy a family and relationships.
Secrets can get you trouble, even when kept for the best of reasons. Can Davis and Neema overcome a huge secret? IfWhat do you do when family is also involved?
