After a life-changing incident, Mary-Anne has led a difficult life. Will an excursion in the Forest, one autumn day give her an escape from her lonely existence..
Forest Magic is a charming short story that was a pleasure to read.
Mary-Anne had suffered a traumatic event in her life. It happened on bonfire night when she saved an animal from certain death. She had not hesitated because it was the right thing to do. The result of her heroic act had left a horrible disfigurement to her face, neck, and to one side of her body.
Settle down, as author Carrie O’Leary, leads you on an enchanting journey into a land where Mother Nature nurtures and cares for all creatures. There are beings that live there, hiding watching, and searching for the compassion in human beings.
Imaginative, dreamy, and thought-provoking. The book had a good vibe going for it. There were some lovely visual descriptive passages—a satisfying story with a message.
I especially enjoyed the ending of this enchanting well written story.
This is a short but beautiful tale. Mary-Ann had lived a life of self-imposed solitude after the death of her grandmother. A prank that had gone horribly wrong had left her scarred and disfigured for life. The school bully totally destroyed the tiny bit of confidence Mary-Ann had. Ten years after leaving school Ann-Marie's only friend is her dog Jax. But a walk-in in the forest was to change her life forever, and she got her happy ever after. Highly recommended!
A tale of doing the right thing leading to its own reward. Great depiction of Tir Na Nog and the Fair Folk, and the heroine, Mary Anne, overcoming adversity. A quick read, ideal for a break or half an hour over coffee. Nice to see a happy ending as per the classic tales for once!!
