You and Me #4

Finding Me

Rate this book
Love is...complicated.
Full of hurt and empty promises.
He was the last person I thought I’d develop feelings for.
But during those long nights caring for our friends, things happened.
Things changed.
Neither of us knew what to do.
So we stayed friends. Ignored the feelings. Pretended we were the same.
But you can only pretend for so long.
Until love’s strong grasp pulls you down.
The further I fell, the further I ran.
Too bad I can’t run forever.
Even if I could, he’d never stop chasing me.
He needs me like I need him.
Two broken souls finally mending each other.
But my broken soul? What if it isn’t meant to be whole?

All I want to do is console him by wrapping my arms around him and never letting go. Kiss him, touch him, comfort him.
In so many more ways than we agreed upon.
Just friends? Drew asked me in the dimly lit bar. I can’t give myself to you right now, not in the way you deserve. But I don’t want to lose you.
I agreed because it was better than losing him.
We both knew the decision was for the best but everyday I find myself questioning that decision more and more.
Drew has been there for me when I was literally battered and all alone. Yeah, Raina was there but I couldn’t bother her with my problems when she had her own with Levi.
I keep my scars well hidden, my tears to myself as I cry myself to sleep. Hiding my pain and problems is what I do best.
But Drew...Drew’s different. Special..
How can I keep being friends with him when I want so much more?

Available on all major retailers!

I’ve been looking forward to getting my hands on this book for a while, so when it was announced that Lyssa Cole would be expanding into the series a lot more, I just couldn’t help but be thrilled about it. Mabel and Drew are both huge parts of both Rai and Levi’s lives, so everything that happened between the two of them had a huge impact on both Mabel and Drew. Through the eyes of Levi and Rai you get small glimpses of what’s going on, but you’re unable to read between the lines, yet with this book being centred around the two of them, you get to see everything, nothing is hidden away and you just get to peel back the layers that you never knew were there. Both Mabel and Drew are strong characters, they are always there for their best friends and don’t want to burden them with their own problems, it’s a shame that neither of them have anyone for the other so that they can just turn to them in their time of need… But Lyssa puts both Drew and Mabel through a lot in this book and you can’t help but feel your heart break for the two of them.
It’s clear from the writing alone and the characters that Lyssa loves these characters a hell of a lot, it shines through so much and I can tell that she enjoyed being able to tell their story. I literally loved every minute that I got to read of their story and it’s so beautifully written.
I can’t fault anything in this book as it’s clear to me that Lyssa has thought long and hard about how their story will come about, she did an amazing job and I honestly think that if you’re a crier or an emotional reader, you may need tissues for this book.
If you’ve not read this series yet, I’d highly encourage you to do so, Lyssa’s writing speaks out in volumes and you can’t help but get swept up into the story.

Mable and Drew have both been huge rocks for Levi and Rai, they’re both the type of people to put others before themselves. They both have baggage, but they try their best to ignore it and do what they can to get through school.
Mabel is scared of the demons that are haunting her from her past, so when she gets attacked the night that Levi ends up in hospital she nearly loses her fight because she’s afraid that the demons are after her again. Luckily she gets away but she refuses to come clean to anyone as in her head if she forgets about it, it never happened.
When she realises that she is needed at the hospital because of Levi’s accident she pushes everything to the side so that she can be there for her best friend, but as things don’t look too good for Levi she knows that they are all in for the long haul. What starts off as two people being there for each other, could it turn into something more that neither of them are prepared for or will they just fight the urges they have and just stick to becoming friends???

As soon as I started reading this book I was gripped and I couldn't wait to jump right back into this series. This is book #4 in the You and Me Series and this story will keep you turning the pages faster than ever. I recommend that you read this series in order to truly understand everyone and all that has happened throughout the series. This is a must read book that everyone must get.

This is Mabel and Drew's story and these two people are so sweet and caring and will do anything for the people they love at the drop of a hat. I felt it so deep inside my heart and after Mabel got attacked and just tried to deal with it by herself so she could help everyone else around her it was heartbreaking but I felt it shows how strong willed a person she is. Drew is also dealing with a lot and they both dance around there feeling for a while but its hard for Mabel. The question is will they both take control of there feelings and tell each other what is inside their hearts because I feel that these two are truly meant to be. Two broken souls that need to heal each other and you will not be able to take your eyes of there love story.

The way that this author writes her characters pulls you in so much that you feel everything that they are going through and you will with these two. My heart broke for them at times and this book will have your emotions all over the place as you go the journey with them both. This story flows throughout and it was captivating all the way through and I couldn't put it down at all. I have really enjoyed reading this series and I really enjoy reading this authors book I love her style of writing and I cant wait to see what she writes in the future.

This is Mabel and Drew’s story, two broken souls looking for love. Most of the story is set in and around the hospital Levi is in, and how Mabel closes off her own problems to be there for her best friend Raina and Drew. The two get close but Drew keeps pushing Mabel away, and there is only so much rejection a girl can take before she moves on.

What will it take for these two to realise they are meant to be together? Maybe their two best friends who are fighting for their own happiness can help them see sense.

A great book with so much going on, you won’t want to put it down.

A brilliantly emotional, heart-warming story. I loved reading this so much. I love the characters and the way they were written made me feel like I was part of the story. I enjoyed how the story unfolded also. A perfect story.

What an incredible friends to lovers story filled with so much passion that completely captivated me. I felt Lyssa did such a great job bringing this story to life and made these characters so easy to relate to. This book brings out all the feels and left me so complete at the end. I am so happy she brought their story out and did such a great job in helping me escape.

Finding me is emotional and heartwarming. This story runs simultaneously with parts of Raina and Levi's. Mable and Drew are there for their friends and in doing so, they grow much closer and cross the line. So much push and pull. You feel every emotion joy, heartache, love, friendship, and all the confusion. Drew and Mable are not perfect and have their own issues they are dealing with, but you'll be rooting for their HEA. This was a very captivating romance with genuine characters. Ms. Cole your stories always pull at my heartstrings. Another wonderful romance! I'm looking forward to Dean's story!

Since I started reading the You and Me series I've been captivated by the intense feelings, multifaceted characters, and lyrical narration of these stories set in the rockstar world. In a story of friends to lovers, readers will see the power of love in action to bring together two people meant to be while helping others heal in order to reach their HEA. After being on the periphery throughout the previous books, supportive of friends in their hour of need, this installment finally brings Mable and Drew to center stage. There have been glimpses of the pain these two were going through in previous books but they kept things to themselves, supporting others while needing support too, but doing what needed to be done for their friends. That pain's catching up to them though and in this book that means lots of heartstrings being pulled, lots of tears, and the need for lots of tissues. It's a rocky road to forever for Mable and Drew, an immensely satisfying journey that left me wrung out but happy by The End.

Mable and Drew were an unforgettable pair, easy to relate to and likable, with stories that made my heart ache...particularly Mable. In constantly being there for their friends they never took the time to deal with their own issues, issues ranging from family to self-esteem to sexual assault. It's those issues that are weighing on them and keeping them from giving into their very obvious attraction in a romance full of push/pull and frustrating highs and lows that keep these two apart for way too long. I felt every one of those highs and lows, felt my heart hurt with pain and anger then pump in joy, as time and their demons waged war over their burgeoning connection. It's a powerful journey ultimately, one that ticked every box on my list of favorite book themes and it kept me fully invested from start to finish. By the turn of the final page Ms. Cole has crafted an epic romance, and an unforgettable series, that fans of rockstar romances won't want to miss!

Finding Me (You and Me #4) by Lyssa Cole is a poignant love story of friends turning into lovers who will be fighting obstacles along the way. These two have so much between them but life keeps getting in the way of their true feelings, Thrown together by Levi's accident, her close bond with Raina and Drew will push these two together but both are afraid to take the next step but they soon give in to the passion and desire they are feeling. Through all of drama that is going on, Mable is keeping a secret of the night she was attacked which is tormenting her. School, bonding with Drew, helping Raina and trying to forget her one night of passion with Drew will end up making the friendship between them strained. Drew is dealing with his career, his friendship with Levi and finally family issues will force Drew to reunite and form a bond with his family one that he always wanted. The only thing missing in his life is Mable, he knows he hurt her by telling her he is not able to give her anything more than being friends. Drew knows that he was trying to hide his true feelings and now he knows he has to try and make amends. Will Mable forgive him or will it be too late? When he thinks she went back to her ex- he storms away and blocks her, but through all of this he misses his friend and soon comes to terms that he is in love with her. Can he win her back and confess his true feelings for her? Mable has finally broken down due to her nightmares and missing Drew, she confesses all to Raina about the night she was attacked and agrees to talk to a therapist in order to get her life back. Now a year will go by and Mable will finally have the opportunity to see Drew, will these two finally admit that they have loved each other all this time and look towards a life together? The love between Drew and Mable was well written as these two soulmates look towards a life together. Drew and Levi who has finally turned his life around have a bright future with their music and find they do well working just the two of them and now will have the opportunity to go on the road as all four friends will take this journey together.

Finding Me is a story that will tear the heart out of the hardest heart, and have my eyes leaking (which isn't always easy since I don't do crying), so that alone is worth all the stars & BRAVO Lyssa Cole. Mabel has gone through so much that I'm about to actually have to stop leaky eyes as I think about it since I'm writing this review, and the crazy part is she's so focused on helping everyone she loves, that she doesn't have help to deal with what was done to her. I know the people in her life are good people, but seriously, as much as I loved them (have read this series in order which is what everyone has to do) I still seriously wanted to shake them so they would open their eyes as to what she's hiding. Drew is another friend of hers who's going through his own stuff, and he too is dealing with it all by his lonesome, which is the biggest heartbreak in this story for me. These two broken hearts are starting to heal together, which has feelings being caught but there's a push & pull since she's a flight risk. This story is so emotional that my eyes were actually swollen after I experienced it in full so make sure you have tissue at the ready & anything else which comforts you! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This is the 4th book in this amazing series and is Mable and Drew’s story. Theses two are both broken souls who are looking for love, and they are perfect together to heal each other. Mable and Drew are strong characters and have played a huge part in Rai and Levi’s lives and anything that happened between these two had a huge impact of their own lives, and they put their feelings for each other on the back burner, Mable and Drew are always there for their best friends and do not want to burden them with their own problems. This is a well written emotionally charged story which has heartbreak, friendships, loyalty, and love. I was completely captivated throughout this riveting and addictive storyline, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend for all.

Mable and Drew were acquaintances who become friends when spending time together while Drew's best friend, roommate, and band member is in a coma. Mable is supporting her roomie who is in love with the patient Levi. But Mabel is also stuffing her own nightmares and loneliness after being sexually accosted on a dark street the very night of Levi's wreck. This is the bittersweet story of their last two years of college encompassing the heartbreak of whether Levi will recover, the breakup of their band when Levi does awake, Levi going back to rehab, Mable returning to her user ex, and the death of Drew's father. Through it all, the reader knows these two, Mable and Drew, were meant for each other, no matter how many times they pulled apart or refused to share secrets. I could not put this book down for long it was so well written.

In books that came earlier in the series, the readers were consumed with Levi and Rai's story. This time it is their best friends Drew and Mabel that show the reader just how strong a bond can be. While their friend's lives are imploding Mabel and Drew put their feelings on the back burner in order to be supportive of the tragedy that has surrounded Rai and Levi. But when you spend all day, every day with someone you have feelings for something is bound to break and it is watching these two find love and support with each other that was a joy to read. It is not just re-hashing the other character's story but a love story all on it's own. A fabulous read.

I feel like this is a companion book to the previous ones as a lot of the action takes place in the timeline when Levi was in the hospital. This is the story of two lost souls Drew and Mabel who are slowly drawn together as Levi and Raina are falling apart. I liked seeing the two of them slowly open up to each other but oh Drew did frustrate me when he kept pulling away. I was willing Mabel to open up to someone because she has so much pain inside. This is a quick read but it packs a lot into the pages. An enjoyable and emotional healing love story.

Omg! I loved Drew and Mabel's story so much. They are perfect for each other, both broken is some way yet drawn to each other irresistibly. Drew is barely hanging on while trying to help Levi. Mabel is dealing with some pretty horrific stuff, or should I say not dealing with it but burying it, and trying to be there for Raina. There becomes this pull between Drew and Mabel but both keep fighting it. This part of the series is just as emotional as Levi and Raina's story and just as unputdownable.

This is the fourth book in the You & Me series and it was such a great read, I couldn’t put it down! Mable and Drew are such a big part of Raina and Levi’s lives that it just seems fitting they get their own book!

Both Mable and Drew had a rough experience growing up and learned to stuff their issues on the back burner to be there for others. But who will be there for them when they need it? These two strong and independent people find comfort in each other when they both need it. Their connection is so strong and their chemistry is off the charts.

I loved how well they both fit together and how they both jump at the chance to be there for their friends and each other.

Book 4 in the You and Me series but can be read as a standalone since it does feature a new couple but I recommend you reading the first in this series. Loved this friends to lovers romance. Always one of my favorite tropes and Lyssa has knocked it out of the park. Loved Mabel and Drew. Ms. Cole has created characters that you will fall in love with. The worlds that she creates are perfect to get lost in and I can’t wait to read more. I love that I have found this author and her work.

This book overlaps with book 2 on the series but from Mabel & Drew’s point of view. This time we get to see what is going on with the secrets Mabel is hiding from everyone. From the first chapter we dive into her story. Her suffering, while being a friend to everyone around her. Mabel is definitely a great friend. I love her in this book!

This book!! Mable and Drew - the strong ones, the two who put themselves aside to be rocks for their friends - FINALLY have a story about finding the one who can be strong for them, the one they can be weak with, but in true Lyssa fashion...it's not easily won. It's a whirlwind of angst and suppressed desire. More than once I was 'I did not read what I just read'.... wonderful read!!

Mabel and Drew's story packs a very serious emotional punch. My heart ached so badly for Mabel. Her secrets are so painful and she hides them all to be there for everyone else. I think so many readers will see themselves in her and I include myself here. I liked Drew a lot but admit to getting annoyed by his persistence in pushing Mabel away. I am posting a volitional, forthright review.

I loved that Drew and Mable got their own story. Following Raina and Levi from the side, gave it an extra dimension.
Most of all I’m happy for Mable and Drew that they got their own happy ending, even of there were some bumps on the road. Both of them cared first for everyone else before themselves. It was hard to put it down.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book

I loved that Drew got his own story!!! Drew and Mable are both selfless that they put there pain on the back burner to help those they care about. The pain these two are dealing with is heartbreaking and them finding a deep connection is inevitable, they need someone to help ease the pain without fear.

Good read

After reading the whole You & Me series and then this as the 4th book, it was a little hard to fully fall into. There is a lot of repeat conversations and events from the 3rd book. I was hoping to get more detail to Rai 'a and Drew's past.. It was still a great read though.

wow

Wow, just wow! I have loved Drew and Mabel since the very first book. However I didn’t think Drew would ever pull his head from his backside. He’s such a teddy bear and has such a big heart, but he put his blinders on. Mabel has the same big heart and just wanted to be loved. The end was a little abrupt but nonetheless good.
