Kouhei meets a vampire girl named Hazuki at an old German castle, and she follows him home to Japan in order to look for her mother, but the two are constantly at battle over her unethical use of her vampire powers and embroiled in mysterious adventures.
The manga makes a sudden two year jump. We are told that Grandpa and Elfriede are gone and Kouhei is training to better protect Hazuki. There is a whole host of new characters here including a fiance, grandmother and master. We get a run through of how things work on the mountain. I wasn't thrilled with the two year jump or missing out on what happened to two of my favorite characters; particularly since they completely disappeared from the book. I think if they had shown us what happened to Grandpa and Elfriede I would have been less annoyed about the jump since training scenes can get repetitive and I get that.
