Now this is what I call a book that feels like a movie! This was AMAZING! From the moment I started the first chapter I was hooked on the story. Every time I thought I knew where this book was going Ms. Lakia was like NO! The time in Bali was a time had!!! I loved looking up the places that they too were going to throughout the book because it just made the book feel even more like a movie. Kane Carter needs at least 10 awards for his character!! Kane had my heart from the first time we met his character in the elevator. We love a man that buys the woman that he loves any and everything! Everything he spent money on wasn’t just because but it all mattered to Talia. THE MAN BOUGHT HER A PANDORA BRACELET THAT SAID “ALWAYS AND FOREVER”
The plot twist of this book had me hitting my kindle against my bed because WHAT IN THE WORLD DO YOU MEAN!!! I will forever hate Sergio Black! The amount of times I was ready to jump into this book and fight this man should be studied.
Talia showed out in the best way at that dang mall with Mya. I was like YOU GO GIRL!!! This woman had been through so freaking much and she totally deserved to win a fight this time.
Now RAQUEL you are one dirty woman!!! I expected some shady stuff like that from Sergio but not from you! When she made that phone call I was like — “That stuff doesn’t make any sense” but I still say here and trusted her!!! Randy also deserves a reward for his efforts because I thought she was about to get herself a happy ending after what she did.
Chapter 25 which takes place 1 year later did everything it was supposed to do to give me closure from some of my favorite characters.
This book was my first ever urban romance book and I'm so happy it was my first because it was AMAZING!!!!

There was a lot going on in this book in just the first few chapters that kind of took me for a loop but I suppose it set the scene for how she winded up meeting Kane. I enjoyed watching her and Kane together and him showing how her a man is supposed to treat a woman that he is with or wants to be with and I was curious to see how they would be together after the week was over. However, I was a little surprised that even with all the information he gave her about himself she didn't divulge what was happening with her life and what brought her where they were sooner than she did as he probably could have tried to help her earlier on. I did think that while they were together there was some drama that occurred after their first date which I thought was unnecessary in the book because it didn't add to the story in any way and went nowhere.
After the week they shared together, that seemed to be the only peaceful time for Talia in the book because just like the book started with a lot, it ended with a lot too and it seemed like it just kept adding on. While I was happy with the way it came together at the end, for me it was a little too much mess overall and I felt there were some loose ends with her friend and what happened to her.

Chilleeeee this book had a little too much going on and dragged on unnecessarily so. Like there were points where I straight up forgot what happened in the beginning of the book because the plot just kept going. Also Talia letting her mom dote on Sergio knowing the bullshit she caused just because she didnt want to tell her mom what was going on is CRAZY

O M G amazing book love the story line Sergio was a real bitch side bitches always get jealous of the main bitch Talia simply went out for food and side bitch acts up causing her to lose her babies while Sergio out getting his ass beat for side bitch actions which he deserved he still couldn’t be there for his family due to the same side bitch He did give Jack some good advice but it was to late for him those divorce papers fucked him up and he got in his mind the of his we vows then talking till death due us part not till side bitch really his side bitch caused the death of his kids did he really think Talia was going to stay married to him got bitches showing up at the house because he setting people up on some Jack boy shit and not slipping the profits going on a drinking spree after getting divorce papers and go home attacking Talia which put her on the wrong how you running around killing women to cover up your dirt and keep the gun at your house dumb fuck best think that could happen to Talia sent her on the run to Bali where she meet a real nigga who at first she thought was going to rob her in a elevator Kane turned out to be her savor in more then one way he had to rock Brad Pit look a like to sleep in the hotel which started a week of falling in love leaving the hotel Talia kicked Braid Pit look a look and Kane said he already let him be lol Look a like told her she could pay him for her rejection that was a good one poor Mya got forgot about and left because she decided she didn’t want to play her position after Kane and Talia told their truths it was on from there to get back home and Talia and all Kans crew get arrested was a wow factor I knew Raquel was setting her up Sergio with the fuck nigga he was gave the police a hell of a story to pin all those murders on Talia Talia fucking with a king pin fixed that problem real quick Kans crew was a trip told him he meet the female version of him when they thought she killed all those women giving him a warning he never been in a relationship and he was to try with her may have been the wrong move overall an amazing book and I highly suggest this read 🔥🔥🔥🔥☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️story

Great read
Omg I could stand Sergio from the beginning when talia told him about his side piece and he think killing her was gonna handle everything and his son died because of her! It was no way he just thought things was gonna work! Then the daughter passes and she couldn’t even get in touch with you not one time! Like did he have her blocked because it was no way he couldn’t reach her at all! A divorce was only rite! It’s true a man can’t take the hurt that he puts a woman through! If he could he would of left the marriage peacefully but he just had to go home starting things and get himself shot! But hunnie how come her best friend had to do her like that? When she lied and said her mama had died and she got her crying and everything! I’m so glad she ran into a man like Kane! From day one Kane was there and only wanted to see her smile everyday! I hate that I took him to get to Tampa to find out the real truth and then get locked up! But hey he had a team behind him and he made sure his woman came home! Even though she was on a ankle monitor she went home and never had to go back! When he made Sergio confess everything I could t help but laugh! Then Sergio really goes and gets himself killed well dang! And her bestie got herself killed for being a snitch! After the week they been through you would of thought that would be Kane time to leave once she was cleared of everything but he dropped to that knee and made her his and plus made her something she wanted more than anything a mommie! With Friends Like Raquel Who Needs Enemies?
Boy starting off I was like why is she overlooking this dumb man? Why is is that some men not all do their dirt and still think it's okay to continue if their woman or wife forgives them? Sergio, was such a dog, he was so selfish, Talia thought his love was genuine for her because she was so loyal to their entire relationship, she allowed things she knew about Sergio to stay between them even when she knew that what he was doing was wrong. Sergio only loved himself until all hell broke loose and he couldn't lie anymore to Talia after he was the cause of a horrific accident involved Talia.
Talia, had a best friend Raquel that knew all her mess she had going on with Sergio, Talia mom lived in network and she didn't know all the hell her daughter was going through. Sergio thought he could get her mom on his side but Talia wasn't changing her mind, she was finally fed up. When Sergio got served he tried to make Talia change her mind and she had to defend herself
Defending herself ended up being the best thing that happened to her. She met a true king that didn't even realize that was what he needed when he met her. Kane showed Talia how to accept being loved correctly. Raquel was supposed to have her back but she proved only to have her own, she help Talia get in a trap, Kane was right there to make all troubles go away. True love comes when you least expect it. Karma comes to those that at deserve it. Good Read

Baaabyyyy!!! Anotha dope 5 🌟 read. Talia was a young 'impressionable' woman blinded by feelings of the heart for her first everything, her husband Sergio. I have no doubt that at some point he loved Talia but his actions definitely proved that something in him just didn't care. He messed up and made apologies with jewelry, smooth talk and anything else he could think of. One final run in with another one of his side chicks proves to be too much for Talia to take when this woman attacks her and causes a drastic loss, further pushing her away from Sergio. His last act forces Talia to flee for her life, sanity, and freedom. Enter Kane, the slick mouthed stranger that ends up helping Talia more than he would realize. The way their relationship grows during the week they're together is enough to make Kane realize just how much he wants and needs Talia in his life. The knight stops at nothing to make his thoughts a permanent thing. Betrayal, deceit, grief, and a drunk guy 🤣 landed these two together but love, kindness, and realness keeps them together 💛

That’s How You Come Up
Talia was loyal to Sergio just for him to put her life along with their kids life at risk. I left for Talia in loosing both her twins. Sergio thought getting rid of the lady who caused the deaths would help BUT it back fired on him big time. I was sad that Talia had to leave so fast after the incident with Sergio. BUT then in walk Kane, Talia’s saving grace. He was respectful of Talia, didn’t pry at what she was going through. My favorite part was when he told all 5 of ladies he was dealing with it was over and blocked them. That’s when I knew he was serious about Talia being his forever. NOW the set-up Talia’s bf put her in was wrong. BUT as always Kane came through for his lady even as people in his crew asked him multiple times was he sure. He didn’t sleep until Talia was completely free of the charges. As Kane told Talia in Bali that she was going to be his wife, he kept his word. They wasted no time with the marriage let alone having kids (back to back literally). Love that Talia got her forever FAITHFUL partner and still was blessed to have kids.

I knew Sergio was sucker a**, community🍆 having bit** boy, but dayyyuuummm. That ni**a pulled the ultimate bit**move on Talia. I'm glad she shot his bit** a**🤷🏽.
It's fuc*ed up that it took Talia losing her babies in order for her to realize Sergio was gonna always be a selfish motherfu**er😔😢. Her and Kane first encounter wasn't so pleasant, but after he came to her aid things took a turn for the better. Despite the petty disagreements, it was like they had been together for years. He really came through for her on those charges. I had a feeling Raquel was setting her up, but I was really hoping she wouldn't be the one to turn on her. Randy handled that🤷🏽. That damn Mya is gonna be trouble in the future, I could be wrong. I was happy that despite all the heartache and pain Talia endured she was able to get her HEA💕

This book was so unserious omg 😂😂
I went to school in Tampa so I definitely appreciated the familiarity with the setting! Very nostalgic. Now back to the book, you mean to tell me in a matter of about 7 weeks, there was a twin birth, death of said twins, murder of a mistress, kidnapping of husband , attempted murder of husband , escape to Bali, meeting a rich kingpin, assisted suicide and an engagement with said kingpin ?! Let’s be so for real 😭
Then HOW did she fall for the lie that her mother, who she JUST saw the week prior was dying from stage 4 breast cancer?! Girl….
When Kane got down on one knee after SEVEN days of knowing her, I screamed! All they did was hunch all over Bali, yes, they had some conversations but it seems like he fell in love with her because she “had blood” on her hands. Nothing more, nothing less.
I’m giving this a generous 4 stars because I was entertained throughout but the plot could’ve used some work.

This book was a quick ok read. I think I read a Christmas book by this author so she’s still new to me and give me new author vibes. The story seemed a little fast paced and rushed. Maybe because it was based on spending a week with someone. Even still the build up before that took up most of the book. Talia was a young woman trying desperately to cut ties with her cheating husband Sergio. After giving him more chances than she card to count the last straw was when they took a tragic loss. I think the author could have done a better job at letting us feel the hurt between the couple when things went south for both of them. Especially when she met Kane in Bali. Her emotions just seemed to disappear after the tragedy she left behind and my emotional connection with her disappeared with it.
P.S. I was rooting for the bad guy this time. I felt more connected to him than Talia. I think the author did a wonderful job showing us exactly who he was and she could’ve went deep with his storyline and explained his background more and gave us some reasons on why he was so messed up when it came to loving Talia correctly. I wanted him to get it together for her....for himself.

Love and loyalty from a real one
Kane. Kane. Kane. He is the man. I love how he catered to Talia and she to him. They gave each other what they had been missing in life... love and loyalty from a real one. Sergio is the definition of a phuck boy because he definitely wasn't no man. He couldn't handle when his wife had enough with his fuk'd up ways and behavior. Going to Bali proves to be the best thing that happens to Talia, despite the reason why she's there. And Raquel... baby, baby, baby... that is totally fuk'd up. She wanted to play dirty and got dirty in the end. I wished that Talia could have had a few words or hands to say to her. I enjoyed reading this book and hope to hear from them again in the future.

Most definitely a must read you want be disappointed.
I loved every minute of this book but I don't have one question what really ended up happening to Raquel? I really thought she was a genuine friend. Shiiiddd fooled me. Kane character I loved him as soon as he Stepped on the scene. The way he stepped up and showed the amount affection he showed Talia without even knowing her that long made me love his character even more and the amount of pettiness he had and showed Sergio had me laughing like crazy. Sergio 🙄 dudes like him. You have a good woman that's willing to walk threw the mud with you and you still sh!t on them. That's all I have to say about his character.

Not the plot I was thinking but it was good nonetheless...a little bit long and boring but good still!
This was not what I thought and albeit a little bit too long it was still good.
This story is on two people who at the end of the day ended up hating each other to the point of hurting them.
Talia, was very mellow and outspoken became a somewhat different person with a different agenda. Then you have Sergio who Chan’s from zero to a ten, and finally Kane who was just too good too be true.
Raquel deserved everything that was bought to her as well as Sergio. Kane and Talia got their perfect ending ....

Awesome Book !🔥
I hate I kept putting this book off. Seem like every time I started to read it something would come up but I finally got the chance to read it and I must say it was awesome. I love the chemistry between Kane and Talia they had that love st first sight thing going on. Kane never let her down and stand by her through it all. I can't believe that Raquel was that dumb and to let that cop use her like that to snitch on her friend she got her karma. I wish Sergio could've suffer a little more he got off to easy . I can't wait to read the next book. Keep up the great work.

Outstanding
FIVE STAR READ hands down. Kane is the man. After only a week of knowing Talia he treated her like the queen she is, even tho his mouth just reckless. I thought I was gonna die when he called Mya throat goat. He went above and beyond to secure Talia's freedom. Yeah she shot her husband but it wasn't because of his infidelities or the fact that his actions was the reason their children didn't make it. His bitter self tried to pin all that crap on her. Then I thought Raquel was such a good friend. Snakes get they heads cut off. 💝💝

Great Standalone
This standalone was so good from beginning to end. Held my attention and I couldn't put it down.....a page-turner. Enjoyed the storyline and these characters and it flowed really well at a steady pace. There's definitely not set time on falling in love. Circumstances in life lead Talia to Bali and changed her forever. After a chance meeting with Kane alters a week into always and forever. So loved how everything turned out. Highly recommend this standalone. Great job Lakia.

Oooo Talia was out through it. Sergio ugly but got his just desserts. Just out here killing women that he cheated on his wife with. My heart broke for Talia when she lost the twins. However, love found her and she got her happiness back. Raquel took me by surprise. I was not expecting her to snitch on Talia like that and then tell her that her mom died! What?? I was confused as heck. I was like the author just threw that in there huh lol, but it was all a lie. Enjoyed the story.

It’s alright.
I was struggling with whether to give this story 3 or 2 stars, but landed on 3 because it was alright. Here’s why; this book dragged on but was too fast all at the same time. Then there were inconsistencies and subplots that were not tied up so the scenes where pointless and did not help move the story forward. The beginning was slow and then I’m at page 200 thinking there must be a part two when I remembered this is a standalone. I skimmed through all the flashbacks. The story was cute and I finished it in a few hours but nothing stellar!

Sergio is trash, he deserved way worst than what he got! Ugh, what a bastard.

GREAT BOOK
This book was good from beginning to the end!!! I like Talia. Poor thing went through entirely too much with Sergio. He just couldn’t be faithful for nothing. I loved Ms. Marcia. She did not play about her daughter at all. And Kane is definitely Bae!!! He was a real boss! I love the way he stepped in and took care of Talia just like he said he would. The ending was GREAT!!!! 🔥🔥🔥

Yes, this book was everything! I’m sad to see it end honestly. Talia was a strong individual but when she got a real one in her life she was able to be vulnerable. I’m happy she met Kane Carter. Sergio was def a fuck nigga and her best friend smh I didn’t see that coming but hey good riddance. All the people she has in life want her happy and that’s all that matters after the tragic events she faced. Awesome read!!!

I have been trying to wrap my mind around why I should really like this story and I can't. The writer sets the stage for an epic fallout between two people who have meant everything to one another. I get the the wrongs going on in this story but what I don't get is that at some point I wanted just a little common sense to kick in.I think the writer misses some opportunities and the story is wrapped up a little too nice and neat.

Sergio was a straight fu*k boy and her suppose to be bf wasn’t dookey squat either. I would have never thought she would do her like that and especially lying saying her mom was sick and she knew that was the only person she had left in the world. I am so glad Talía met Kane and he was every thing she needed. This was an excellent read. Big ups to Lakia!! Very enjoyable
I was very pleased with this story. It just goes to show that there is no set time limit on falling in love. An unexpected trip to Bali turned out to be a life changing experience for Talia. She runs into the one and only Kane from NYC. A week together they fall in love and lets just say after loose ends were tied up, they lived happily ever after.👍🏿
