It was good at first, but it has thrown me off since the beginning because I knew the moment Estelle chose Emel as her guard that there would be a romance between them. Estelle was only like 11 years old at the time, and Emel was... adult enough to be a guard! It creeps me out every time those two are in the same scene, especially when Estelle confesses to him and blushes whenever he is mentioned or appears, but I endure it because I'm curious about the Castielo family. To be honest, I've disliked Emel since he first appeared.
Actually, I also don't like Estelle that much. For a person who lived and remembers her past life (a 24-year-old in a child's body), she's still stupid, selfish, and pathetic. You don't know how much I have to stop reading because it's cringy and gives me secondhand embarrassment. She was told this and that, like not telling everyone about her being an elementalist or about how she should not trust anyone, but then she goes around telling everyone in the house about her gift, basically right after being told not to. She goes around doing something she shouldn't have done, then leaves it to her father and brother to clean up her mess.
This story has so many cliche moments that the more you read it, the more it sucks. The storyline progressed like a roller coaster; it would give you some suspense, and then the next thing you knew, you were reading about a child whining and crying about her bodyguard.

Estelle is sold by her prostitute mom to her father who immediately recognizes that her pink eyes means she's his daughter. After enduring years of abuse, Estelle is timid and underweight from malnutrition. I loved the exquisite artwork and the plot kept me in binge mode. Estelle was so cute as a child, I understood why everyone including her brother kept poking her plump cheeks. Loved her relationship with her dad developed from hiding things to keep her safe to letting her make her own choices. There was a scene when Estelle stopped caring about pleasing others and did whatever she wanted. I LIVED for that scene, especially her pants suit. I liked how her relationship developed with Emel who was super protective. Their kisses were so swoony. I'm grateful for the epilogue chapters into the future with the kids. The brother was so similar to the dad that I had trouble telling them apart sometimes. I'm disappointed a bit over how things turned out with Riddell since I found him cute. The side characters, Anne, Roy and the others were really likeable and funny.

The romance was completely unnecessary and actually destroyed the whole story.
The story was super cute, I loved the found family trope and the friendly dynamic between her and other characters. BUT
BEWARE SPOILERS BELOW*** (Not hiding review because I do think people should be warned before they invest too much time)
The romance was forced in for no reason. The art style makes it look like she's 7 and he's 20-30, and it's only because I googled it that I found out he's closer to 18. She's eleven. He is literally with her while she's growing up, and nothing is even remotely romantic between them, there is no reason to turn the relationship romantic at all. She turns 15 and its like out of nowhere we're going the romance route? There were other options for love interests, but honestly the story didn't need a romance at all. If you were so hell bent on making him the ML, he could've been younger.
And it's just downhill from there. I liked his character but they just started forcing conflict, it was very contrived and I couldn't do it anymore, I had to abandon it after a certain point.

This one starts pretty strong. It introduces familiar world elements like a cursed demon clan with power that rivals the imperial family, a reincarnated child with special abilities, and quirky side characters. Despite the trauma in the backstories the tone is mostly cheerful and determined. As the story progresses the characterizations become a bit more inconsistent. I will probably leave it unfinished but season one is enjoyable.
