A daring debutante, a wicked rogue, and a love to last a lifetime...
Desperate to escape her controlling mother, Prudence Longacre becomes engaged to the first suitable man who will have her. The Earl of Reinhold may be boring as lint, but he is wealthy and titled. By high society’s standards – and Prue’s – that is all that matters. Or is it?
Aiden Donovan is neither wealthy nor titled. But from the first moment he and Prue accidentally bump into one another on a crowded street, she finds herself utterly captivated by his dark charm. Rough and common, Aiden is the complete opposite of Lord Reinhold. She shouldn’t be attracted to him…and she certainly shouldn’t be sneaking out to kiss him in the moonlight!
As the day to her wedding draws closer, Prue is faced with an impossible decision. Will she listen to her head? Or for the first time in her life will she follow her heart?

Jillian Eaton has written over forty historical romances and is known for finding the perfect balance between "intense emotions, sizzling chemistry, and light-hearted humor" (Swept Away by Romance). She grew up in Maine and now lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and their three boys on a 17-acre farm where they rescue and rehabilitate senior horses.
When she isn't writing, working at the barn, or playing a cutthroat game of Harry Potter Monopoly with her family, Jillian enjoys gardening, hiking, and being an adjunct professor at her Alma mater, Delaware Valley University.

Sweet and Swoony Romance: Duke at First Sight Spicy and Mysterious: A Dangerous Seduction All Around: Bewitched by the Bluestocking Bit Darker: The Duchess Takes a Lover
This was a fast pace story that proves you can call in love at first sight! Did found she couldn't be like her mother and Aiden proved that he could be a gentleman!
This was so enjoyable - just a wonderful "love at first sight" meeting with instant sparks, verbal sparring & humor!
Aiden Donovan is a handsome, happy-go-lucky rogue with no title or wealth but he loves his single, man about town life & wouldn't want to be leg shackled to anyone at this point in his life. And then it happened a flaming haired, green eyed beauty ran straight into him while coming out of a shop. They are both thrown off balance but Aiden sets them both to rights & suddenly can think of nothing but kissing this gorgeous woman except her ranting words (which he finds funny), has him speaking back in return.
Lady Prudence Longacre is gorgeous & has know it since she can remember & it has been drilled into her, by her Mother, that she needed to make the best match with a title & wealth. Her mother, a daughter of a duke, married below her status & her family turned their backs on her. She did not want Prudence to make the same mistake as the family was just hanging on to their status in society & also money was running out. She finds herself shopping with a friend & upon leaving a shop the sun blinds her & she slams into something - a very handsome rogue with intense eyes & a rakish sense of humor.
After meeting - neither of them revealed their names but neither can forget the accidental meeting. Aiden wants to forget the beautiful lady who is soon to be married but cannot get her out of his mind. Prue is marry to the boring, wealthy Earl of Reinhold in a few weeks, so why can't she get the stranger out of her mind & the desire she felt for him? They have a sweet, humorous romance that will leave you smiling - it is a short read but so entertaining! I voluntarily read & reviewed an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book; all thoughts & opinions are my own.
I read book 1 of the series and although we have cross over character's, this is a stand alone.
I had a hard time liking the h because she was brash and full of herself. It isn't until near the end of the story when she has it out with her mother (APPLAUDING), that she realizes she is becoming her mean spirted mother and wants a different path.
The h/H have few scenes together so you can't say it is filled with romance because it isn't. It is a clean story with only a few passionate kisses.
I enjoyed their road to HEA and we are treated to an epilogue not far in the future. I can't wait for Rosalind's story and have pre-ordered it. No cheating, no cliffhanger and clean. The story ends at about the 86% mark on my e-reader. (ljb)
Prue and Aiden. I really enjoyed the characters in this book Prudence Longacre or Prue for short decides that marrying a man that really does not appeal is the right thing to do. Then she meets Aiden Donovan by accident and other thoughts come to mind. Prue is spoiled and it shows in the way she acts and thinks it was entertaining seeing her grow to understand what is really important in life. As for Aiden, it was easy to see why Nicola, Merry, and Rosalind adored him! I am happy to recommend this book. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
A very different take on love at first sight in the Regency era. I did not like the h, Prue at all at the beginning of the book but it was good to be able to watch her grow in empathy and maturity as the story progressed. I thought Aiden was wonderful from the get-go primarily since he remained true to his character throughout the entire book. It was a good example of the class distinction during that time and what it meant to fall in love outside of it.

Prudence is marrying the Earl of Reinhold who has money and a title and her mother is pushing it, even though he is old and boring. Prudence literally runs into Aiden and they cannot stop thinking about each other. Her mother wants Prudence to have the title and they needed the money. This is a great story and there was even some twists to the story. This is a short story but it is wonderfully written and it was entertaining and the little plot twists makes it more enjoyable.

A great story about meeting your true love quite by accident. Aiden is such an enjoyable character to read and I can guarantee that he would be your best friend. Pru did not stand a chance against his charisma. Theirs is a sweet story that will having you smiling. I found the little headings at the beginning of each chapter to be hilarious and laughed out loud.
I love Jillian Ratings books! They unfailingly grab your interest from page one and hold it all the way to the end. I have always believed whole heartedly in love and am enamored of the Victorian era. Jillian Eaton always satisfies my craving for each. This is a great series because I think we all secretly adore the figure and rascals in life. I am impatiently awaiting her next book. I know I can't go wrong with anything Jillian writes.
A real page turner that holds you, the reader, captive to it's fast pace, well written drama. This is a romance novella that if you are a romance fan, it's for you. An interesting Book out of a wonderful Series filled with colorful characters of ladies, charming sexy men, some not so charming & all kinds of entanglements the opposite sexes can get into.
Lady Prue was desperate, encouraging her boring titled suitor to propose for financial security and because it was expected of her. She’d rather be with Aiden, the ruffian she ran into, but he’s not of her world. Their story is a case of instant lust that seemed too quick after only three brief encounters to call it love.
The second book in the Love and Rogues series a well written story that held my interest until the end. Prudence Longacre and Aiden Donovan's story had me smiling as I saw her fall in love with a man she should not have, and then to find out what he was, had me smiling as I read. A story that I found was well worth reading.
What a delightful read! The characters and their actions are so believable. It took no time at all for me to feel like I was right there beside them, observing, listening, feeling. Totally loved Aiden’s cocky attitude and Peru’s ‘sassiness’. Can’t wait to read the next “Love and Rogues” book!
This is a very enjoyable quick read, clean book. It is about Aiden and Prue who run into each other in the middle of a street. The attraction between them was there from the beginning. Prue always wanted to marry for money and title, Aiden has no title and he looks like he has no money, but when you fall in love, what can you do. This is the 2nd book in the series, but you do not have to read the first one to enjoy this one. I received an ARC copy of this book from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Fab little quick insta love story set in Regency England. Fab characters in a clean insta love story. as it’s set in regency even so it’s insta love it’s still got it’s twists.

Page after page about exchanging names. Then page after page about a kiss. This "book" may have been a decent very short story and it is only a bit over 90 pages. The hero is arrogant. An earl is going to marry a girl on the street selling flowers??
Prue was looking for wealth and status, not love. Along comes Aiden, who rings her chimes and ruins her plans. The book had humor and romance. Will recommend this book to a friend.
I liked this book and the series. Would recommend! It's nice they are shorter so easy to get into and escape into another time when live was very different.
Jillian has written another sweet romance. I love the characters. It wasn't long and drawn out with enneccessary detail, just a simple love story to enjoy.
