Mitzy and Sheriff Too Hot To Handle, Erick. are taking a weekend getaway on a 1920’s Murder Mystery Train event. Mitzy is looking forward to spending some alone time with with Erick and solving a “fun” murder. Little does Mitzy know but she and Erick will be solving a real murder and must do it before the train returns to the depot.

I love this series. You get humor, mystery, some romance, and great characters. Mitzy is full of snark and sass but she is loyal and caring. Her relationship with Sheriff Erick is going strong. We only get a small dose of her Ghostma or cat, Pyewacket in the book but enough for their fans. The mystery is full of twists and turns and surprises. It moves at a fast pace with no shortage of suspects.

I listened to the audio version of this book. The narrator is wonderful at bringing the characters and story to life. She is a great storyteller. She gives an already great story and extra spark. I recommend this to paranormal cozy mystery fans.

All thoughts and opinions are my own, and I have not been by anyone.

Dames & Deadly Games by Trixie Silvertale is the 13th book in this paranormal cozy mystery series, but the first I’ve read. The main character, Mitzy Moon, owns a bookstore, has daily conversations with her deceased grandmother’s spirit, and also has a cat who can communicate (not talk) on video calls. Mitzy also taps into her psychic powers to help her boyfriend, Sheriff Erick Harper, solve cases. I don’t regularly read paranormal mysteries, but the premise of this book intrigued me. Mitzy and Erick take a free trip aboard a luxury train for a 1920s-themed murder mystery weekend. Before the fictional case can be solved, an actual murder takes place on board which will take all of Mitzy and Erick’s skills and abilitlies to solve.

I enjoyed the train setting and loved the details about the train itself and the 20s attire Mitzy wore for the various events. It really established the atmosphere and allowed me to picture the characters and the train. When MItzy gets into character as a flapper, her intelligence and spunk reminds me of Detective Frankie Drake from the Canadian television show. I was cheering her on as she questioned witnesses, ruled out suspects, and “protected” her boyfriend from predatory females. I loved how well Mitzy and Erick worked together, with some helpful clues supplied by Mitzy’s cat Pye, via video conference.

As someone who usually reads other types of mysteries, I was pleased to see the paranormal aspects of the story are well-done and not too over-the-top. Mitzy is a relatable character who is taking a break from running a business and hoping to solve a fun mystery while having a romantic weekend with her boyfriend. When the real-life murder occurs, Mitzy uses all her skills and available resources to help Erick solve the crime. I think the two have great chemistry and although I was able to enjoy the book without reading the earlier installments, I know fans of the series will especially like the ending. I enjoyed this fast-paced mystery and would definitely read more books in the series to see what happens next for Mitzy and Erick, as well as Mitzy’s beloved “Ghost-Ma.” If you’re unfamiliar with this author, but like Carolyn Haines and Victoria Laurie, I think you’ll also enjoy this book.

Thank you to author Trixie Silvertale for providing a copy of this book. The book was provided to me at no cost, but my review is voluntary and unbiased.

This was another good mystery in the series. Mitzy takes her boyfriend on a train trip. It's one of those murder mystery type of things. Of course someone actually gets murdered. Mitzy gets involved and solves the crime. Now all is well for now.

Mitzi drinks way to much 🙄🙄🙄 and how could she get into trouble on a train? Well because she’s Mitzi. When a real corpse shows up on a murder mystery weekend, it’s up to Eric and Mitzi to solve the crime before the next depot.

Simply the best!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Trixie Silvertale is /the/ best cozy author! 13 books in and I’m still hooked! In fact, I have a countdown on my phone for the release of book 14!

OMG!!!!! This book was amazing! Mitzy and Erick make the perfect team on their murder mystery train ride. Both for the pretend, and the real murder. I love that they finally got their getaway and we got to witness their slow burn romance continue full steam ahead (ha ha train joke). In addition to the romance, there was a whole host of fun new characters to get to know, analyze, and accuse. A few I hope to hear from again! Of course, Silvertale also found a way to include our favorites Pye, Ghostma, and Silas as well, because the books just wouldn't be the same without these loveable characters. It all fit together perfectly. This was another well written addition to the Mitzy Moon series and I cannot wait to read what comes next!

Yes, yes, yes, so much yes! I can't wait for more from this series. I swear it gets better with each book and I proclaim the current one I just read as my favorite.... and I am going to do it again with this book! If you haven't read the series yet, go to the first book and read them in order to get maximum enjoyment. If you like a good audiobook, then this series needs to be on your must listen list as the narrator absolutely brings Mitzy and friends fully to life! This book has the best plot with plenty of potential suspects that are all trapped together on a train! Never fear, Mitzy and Sherrif Harper are on the case! Lots of exciting happenings both with the investigation and with Mitzy's personal life. I so can't wait to see how things go in the next audio!

I don’t know how the author does it but each new Mitzy Moon Mystery tops the one before. I adored this one. Set on a train, with a fake mystery to solve, Ms Silvertale has put one of my dream vacations into a book. Talk about living through a favorite character! I totally was. Now I want to do a Mystery Train vacation more than ever! Of course, I won’t have a Sheriff Too Hot to Handle and, fingers crossed, no real murder to solve but I think it would still be amazing. If you have ever wanted to go on one of those train rides or you have gone and enjoyed it, this book is for you. Ghost-ma, Pyewacket, and Silas all make appearances so even though we are wandering outside of Pin Cherry Harbor some of our favorite characters are still there. The mystery had a train full of suspects and some diversions that kept things interesting. Those who have been wanting more from Mitzy and Erick won’t be disappointed. The secondary story of Ghost-ma continues and I am filled with anxiety regarding it. I can’t wait for the next book, Castaways & Longer Days to come out! It is still cool out here so the warmth of a summer celebration with a sailboat event, (with the lockdown last year oh how I missed ours!), is extremely enticing.
If you just want the mystery and train fun you could read this by itself. However, I would strongly urge you to read these in order. They build on each other and they are so fun to read. This is a paranormal cozy mystery series so if you aren’t interested in the paranormal these might not fit you. If you are interested, I am telling you, you will love these books! I believe they are in the Kindle Unlimited program so there is no reason not to give them a shot.

Mitzy Moon and Erick Harper are on a weekend getaway on a historic train. Part of the weekend includes a 1920's-themed murder mystery. But when a real murder occurs, Mitzy and the sheriff must find the killer before the next stop.

I received a free copy of this book from Hidden Gems and this is my honest, voluntary review. I have really enjoyed this series and this book is one of my favorites. It's well-written with wonderful characters and I love the interaction between Mitzy and Harper. I was drawn into the story from the beginning and the mystery kept me guessing. I'm very eager for the next book in the series. I highly recommend both book and series which is best read in order.

Mysteries within mysteries! Loved it! Mitzy and Erik are the most amazing couple and team. And things are getting so good! Loving the romance building. I hope Silas can find a solution for Ghostma so that she doesn’t cross over when released from the amber. Fingers crossed it happens soon! This is a series I hope never ends!

Finished in a day

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Once I started it, I couldn’t put it down! I feel bereft now waiting 2 months for the next one. Lots of twists and turns. It was nice to have a different setting On a train, but I did miss the usual characters of Pin Cherry. Eagerly awaiting book 14!

Mitzy and Eric finally get a weekend getaway alone together. Eric’s friend gives them first class tickets to a murder mystery train’s inaugural ride. Before they can solve the “fake” murder a real one occurs. It’s Johanne the owner of the train and not a nice person! They don’t have long to solve it and a train car full of suspects who claim not to know each other. As Mitzy uses her gifts to try and solve it they are not reliable especially when champagne is consumed! There is very spotty wifi so she has limited access to Mr. Cuddlekins her caracel.
In the end the very complicated case is solved. There was nonstop action, drama and danger! The story was very originally and well plotted out. My favorites part was that Mitzy and Eric finally got their alone time on the ride back. Mitzy’s outfits were fabulous! Still hoping Silas can safely get ghostma out of the necklace with his brothers help. Who knew he had a brother right? I highly recommend this book and this series! Great job Trixie! Looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

Twins, tunnels and trains..

Mitzy and Erick set off on a first-class 1920's murder mystery train trip, a last minute arrangement that will hopefully make up for their valentine trip being cancelled.

With Gram still locked in the amulet, and Silas continuing his research to try and find a way to release her but prevent her passing beyond the veil there's little she can do beyond providing wardrobe advice.

As the beautifully restored train heads off with a rather odd bunch of characters Mitzy and Erick fail to realise that this journey will stretch them to the end of the line when one guest dies in real life. As they investigate two more attacks are made; one on Mitzy herself.. can they reach their destination without anyone else dying and solve the case to prevent the culprits escape? It's going to be a tough call when it comes but Mitzy has plans for the return journey and she's determined that this time they won't be interrupted.

It is Lucky Number 13 in the Mitzy Moon Mystery Series!
In Dames and Deadly Games, Mitzy and Erick are on a weekend getaway. They have first-class tickets on a restored 1920s railcar for a murder mystery game. What was supposed to be a fun-filled weekend, becomes a real murder mystery.
Mitzy and Erick have only a few hours before the train will be at the next station. Can they solve the mystery before it is too late?
Dames and Deadly Games is a fantastic, fun, and fast-paced mystery with plenty of snark and love.

I chose to read this book after receiving a free e-copy from the author. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.

Mitzy and her sheriff boyfriend, Erick, are going on a scenic train trip that includes a murder mystery party until a real murder occurs. Mitzy and Erick are on the case, and they make a great team. There are many suspects but they’re still able to solve the case before the next depot. There are also a few twists along the way which is always fun.

The characters in the Mitzy Moon Mysteries are unique, flawed, and loveable. Mitzy is smart, hilarious, and determined. Erick is the perfect boyfriend and is almost too good to be true. No matter what mischief Mitzy gets into, he takes it in stride.

Dames & Deadly Games is another fun paranormal mystery with suspense and sweet romance. Even though several of the usual characters have little or no part, it’s still one of my favorites. Although this book stands on its own, I recommend reading all of the books in order to get the most out of the series.

Dames and Deadly Games is lucky number thirteen in the Mitzy Moon Mysteries series.

This book is a fabulous addition to the series. A 1920s-themed train would be so much fun (minus the real body, of course). I loved this story. Each story in this series is new and original and this is no exception. It has wonderful characters, murder, mystery, the paranormal, twists and turns, and a touch of romance. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.

This book was full of action and intrigue. I loved every page from the beginning to the end! Of course the first time Erick and Mitzy go away for a fun and relaxing trip it gets derailed by a murder and a list of suspects a mile long. I loved that we got to see another side of Erick. It was fun to learn a little more from his past and to see him in character as a mobster. I also really loved that Mitzy had a real awakening to how she really feels about Erick. These two together make me so happy! Another great Mitzy Moon adventure! I highly recommend this series. It has a lot of heart and it is full of action and intrigue!

Another fun read!!! Mitzy and the gang are back!! They keep getting better and better! I feel like I am part of the fun and their lives and I become more involved with each book! I was looking forward to Mitzy and her handsome sheriff heading off for a much deserved weekend. But things never quite go as planned for Mitzy! If you’ve read the previous books, you will definitely want to read this one. If you haven’t, you will still enjoy this one! You can’t go wrong with Trixie Silvertale and Mitzy Moon!!

Another great story!

To say I patiently waited for this release is a lie. I went on strike refusing to read another series until this was released and it again did not disappoint! Can I just live in Pin Cherry Harbor and not have to wait ever for the latest release?! Another great story! I enjoy reading how Erick and Mitzy's relationship grows! And hats off to Pye who always knows!

Trixie Silvertale is awesome! Another fun read with the adorable Mitzy Moon and her hunky sheriff/boyfriend Erick. In this installment, Erick takes Mitzy to murder mystery game on a historic train. But by now we all know that wherever Mitzy goes a dead body tends to show up. Mitzy and Erick must find the murderer before they reach the next depot.

Every new book in the series is a treat. They never get stale. Fast-paced. A real page-turner. “Dames and Deadly Games” takes Mitzy and Erick out of Pin Cherry Harbor and away from the core cast of characters. But the story was so good, I only missed them a little bit. Ghost-ma, Pye, and Silas do make an appearance. And, of course, Pye manages to provide Mitzy with the crucial clues to crack this case.

The best part of this series overall is watching Mitzy learn to trust and love those around her. That is a big deal for someone who grew up in the foster care system. I love the sweet romance between Mitzy and Eric as it continues to deepen.

If you are looking for a sweet quick cozy mystery read, I HIGHLY recommend this series. I get excited with each announcement of a new book in the series. The characters have become my friends. Think I can move to Pin Cherry Harbor?

I did receive an Advance Reader Copy of this book. The opinions expressed herein are entirely my own.

Loved it!

This time around, we find Mitzy and Erick aboard a train on a luxury weekend away. The idea is, they are taking part in a whodunnit, mystery murder, which soon turns into a real murder with a mixed bundle of suspects.

Emotions run at fever-pitch height throughout as the couple share sleeping quarters in a setting not too dissimilar to that of the Orient Express. We can picture the scene from the past as everyone falls into their role play as characters. Some are more deceptive than others and are on board the train for different reasons.

Once again, we have a great mystery with a fair share of sleuthing by our talented duo, danger, sexual tension, and assistance with the case, in the form of Pyewacket and Silas.

This book is different as the setting is not centred in Pin Cherry but I think it is my favourite so far. (How many times have I said that during this series?!)

As the author says, you keep reading them and I’ll keep writing them… please do! I found the ending to be very satisfying, as was the main mystery and side mystery. I won’t spoil it.

Another wonderful addition to the Mitzy Moon Mysteries.

Mitzy and Eric go on a romantic 1920's themed murder weekend whilst onboard a train.

Everything is all fun and games until a real murder happens. Mitzy has to put all efforts and powers into good use to solve the mystery before its the end of the line for them!

Trixie has once again excelled herself with Dames and Deadly Games. Buy it and you won't be disappointed.

What a cool adventure! A murder mystery railway trip? Yes, please! And of course, following with Mitzy’s karma, a real murder mystery grips the passengers. I had so much fun reading this! I can’t wait to read the next book! I do hope that Silas has a fruitful visit with his brother and they figure out the resolution to Gram’s predicament!

Mitzi & sheriff “too hot to handle” finally get their Valentines weekend to themselves. They’re given two tickets to a murder mystery train ride. Little did they know aside from the actor who is “dead” they’d be solving more crimes. Pye & Grams help by way of FaceTime. Silas goes on trip to meet a family member who may be able to help ghostma finally leave her amber jail.

I really enjoyed this book and love this series! While I recommend reading the series in order, you could read this book as a stand-alone and still understand where the characters fit perfectly into the story. The author does not add frivolous details that drags the book out. These are fun quick reads that could easily be read in one sitting. I cannot wait for the next book in this series!

Mitzy and Erick have a chance to get away for a weekend alone together but instead of having a fun pretend murder to solve, a real murder takes place and they are once again on the trail of whodunnit!

I enjoyed this mystery as I have all the previous ones and highly recommend it to all who love cozy mysteries! The action is non-stop and the excitement builds as suspects are looked at. However, even tho cell phone reception is spotty at best Mitzy does get to communicate with the one and only Pyewacket who on those two occasions she has a signal imparts crucial information leading to the discovery of the guilty party.

Trixie once again shows us readers a thrilling tale of suspense with humor as Mitzy finds herself in another sticky spot but her knight in shinning armor comes to
her rescue just in time.

These stories are not to be missed and I encourage all who haven’t read the previous books to pick up the first book and read them all to see how Mitzy finds herself in almost Canada from her hometown in Arizona! You will laugh, smile and yes she’d some tears as you read about what happens to her!

Seriously this series shouldn’t be missed! The characters will quickly become your friends and you’ll want to read all about the happenings in Pin Cherry Harbor and it’s surrounding countryside.

See why Trixie has amassed such a large loyal following for yourself. It won’t take you long I can assure you!

Kudos Trixie on another successful book in the series that is hard to put down! I for one can’t wait to see what come next!!

If you like train murder mysteries then you are going to love this book like I did. Mitzy and Erick are going on a weekend "Murder Mystery Weekend" where there is a pretend murder and all the participants on the train try to solve the murder and the first one that does gets a prize. This is a restored 1920s Railway Train and the theme is also 1920s. But when a murder does really happen then Erick, with Mitzy as his deputy need to solve the murder before the next stop or the murderer will walk away scot free. I couldn't put this book down once I started it and I honestly read the entire night to finish it. I thought this was one of the best books yet. I certainly figure out all the clues and get the right person in this one but it was certainly a blast trying to figure it out.
