The Lost Coven #2

Aurora's Betrayal

Rate this book

In helping someone I love, I lost my life. Or did I?

Cut off from my body, I live in the home of a god who’s willing to train me, to help me fully embrace my powers, both as a witch and as a reaper. But while I lay in a coma, the men I left behind suffer, desperate to find a way to bring me back.

I want to return to them, but our family is not complete. One is missing, a member of the coven who was lost before they found me. And I must go on a quest to Purgatory and bring him back, or we’ll forever be incomplete.

I’m coming home to my men, to my family, but will my return bring relief or doom us all?

Fuuunnnn!

Too bad I wasn't paying attention when I started this series and didn't see that there are no more books out yet (that's annoying).

I definitely wanna continue with the series, it seems like the kind of read that keeps getting better and better. The attraction grows, the plot thickens, and we get some answers and, of course, more questions. What's not to like!

Holy fuck*ng sh*t!!!! The author definitely turned up the heat to smouldering in this book. That's one pair of panties destroyed.

This book was worth the wait. I can't reveal all the fabulous things that happens and new characters introduced. Seriously, it was much better than expected and I already expected a lot from this author!

Hurry up an one-click this amazing book and all the authors other books. You won't be disappointed.

Aurora is dead. Or she's in a coma. Or she's sleeping. Or?? While her men are working frantically to find a way to waken her, Aurora is in the in-between. She's being instructed and trained by a god to use her witch and reaper powers. Witches were given their powers by the gods but they have turned their backs on their creators. Once grateful for their gifts, they are now tainted. Aurora will save them all with the help of her men and a few special allies. But before she can go back to her men, she needs to make a stop by Purgatory and pick up their lost brother because, without him, they are not whole. And she thought hiding from the Council was dangerous!

Loved this! It's the perfect balance of information and entertainment; of sexy times and sweetness; of angst and giggles. It's so well-written. Aurora's journey to the in-between, her time with the god, the story of Hekate and the witches, hidden glimpses of Aurora's childhood, the inclusion of her new magical allies, her trip to Purgatory, her friendship with Lane, the deepening bonds with her men, and the ultimate betrayal make for an incredible read. So much happens! And this is only skimming the surface. There are dozens upon dozens of important little tidbits thrown in. It's all handled so effortlessly that it's never forced, never overwhelming. It's fantastic. I love Aurora's powers. I love her times, both sexy and conversational with her men. Whether they are getting dirty or telling corny jokes each moment spent with one another comes across as real. I love her gentle giant and her control freak. I love her joker, her scholar, and her shy boy. I love the asshat. I love her gremlin and Nev. I love her sisterhood with Lane. These two women together set the standard for friendship. I love the role that I believe Lane and the shifters will have going forward. I love so much about this series. I even loved when it all went bad. Not the secrets or the deceptions but the suspense and tension. The complete uncertainty of the ending has me greatly anticipating the next book. I have so many theories, so many things I want to see happen and so many things I need to see happen. Until then, I will just imagine Aurora eating her weight in cookies with Nev by her side and a little pop-in goblin yelling 'silly witch'!

So I love the last book, I even named my dog after a harry potter character in honor of this series. I love how Aurora is a bad ass and has true vulnerability at the same time. I also love the mystery of this series. Just when you think it's all a cliche plot a major twist happens that you weren't thinking of.
This story takes off right from the last book and follows Aurora as she tries to save one of her destined . As she explores her powers and learns of her past she grows stronger as an individual and in turn learns to trust those around her. Just in time to be betrayed but those very same witches. We get lost of view points in this one which really helps the reader (i.e. me). So worth the wait and the ending will have you fist punching the air while screaming YESSS. lol but seriously get me book three like yesterday.

Slowly some of her males begin to fall for her charms.
Unresolved Ending: Leaves major plot points, including the central romance, without a clear resolution. There may not be an immediate sequel planned, leaving the story indefinitely open-ended.
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ 4/5: Romance with several explicit sex scenes that use all the naughty words.
Tropes: Reverse Harem, Soulmates, Heroine on the Run, The One (Lost to history & immense power), White Knights
Setting: Small town UK, Other planes of existence
Subplots beyond the main & romantic plotlines: Lore and history of the universe is explored and additional characters from various factions introduced.
Character Aurora:Feisty, Guarded, Powerful, Witch Hybrid
Character Male Sixsome: Protective, Gentle, Angry(Darius), Shy(Jason), Vulnerable(Ezra), Leader(Alex), Humourous(Ben), Irreverent(Mikael)
Best Clothing Observation: “Also, gods wear skinny jeans?”

Note: I provide full star ratings for books I complete, aiming to accentuate their strengths while refraining from negative critiques.

Great start but unfinished

First off, let me start by saying that this book is unfinished, I started it because it indicated that this was a completed duology (2/2), the story is nowhere near finished for Aurora and her bonds, while potentially setting the scene for a spin off series at the end. That being said, I really liked this story and am excited to see what happens next. Things were just starting to get going in the last third of the book before it came to an abrupt end. Spice is mild for a K.A Knight RH book but that's because I would class this as a slow burn fantasy romance that's only book 2 of a possibly 4 or 5 book series (maybe even more). Solid 4* rating for series potential and 2.5 spice meter.

- first of all, that ending has me reeling and I’m still not completely sure what happened
- I’m hoping we get another book soon
- love the complex relationships between Aurora and her witches (reverse harem done right)
- wow, the smut is amazing and I need more
- if you need a witchy read for October, give this one a go

I don't understand why K. A. Knight has to do this to me😵. This ending? That cliffhanger? My babies!
Please, please be a 3rd book ready for me to devour!

Now plain, human Lane is going to be a supe too!? I'm calling it for book 3. And, and those dudes she danced with are the 3 Aurora needs!

I loved this duology, hopefully it's a trilogy 🤞🏾.

This book did not disappoint. The journey of Aurora is one you can not put down.

Will she be able to forgive the men in her life for their ultimate betrayal to her?

Can’t wait for the next instalment

Wow what an amazing book this was! When this author goes epic, hide your heart cause she will stab you right through it. I am not even sure if I love her because of it or in spite of it. But I really loved this book. From the bottom of my heart.
And I have to warn you that the author outdid herself this time because this book not only has one shocking heartbreaking cliffhanger, but two! I didn't even know that was possible, but leave it to this author and she will make anything happen.
Aurora is finally finding the truth about herself, while the guys are loosing their minds, and when they reunite again, then the minds are being lost for other reasons. There is a lot more heat in this book than previously, and the chemistry between the characters is off the charts.
There are some very interesting additions to the characters and I absolutely love them. They also caused some really funny scenes. There is so much love in this book, it's super heavy and emotional. And then there are secrets and betrayal, oh so many secrets, and so many misguided decisions, it was almost painful to watch. This is a great insight into what happens when you don't come clean in time.
The plot is great, complex, answers so many questions while opens new interesting avenues of more mysteries. And I have no clue where the story might go, just like I had no idea what to expect here, but the ride was amazing. I can't wait for the next book!!!
This is book 2 and it continues right where Aurora's Coven (The Lost Coven Book 1) ends.

I’ve been waiting to read these books for awhile now and I’m so glad I did! I can’t believe I’ve waited so long to read this series it’s AMAZING! And in my opinion a very underrated RH, this series is so good! I couldn’t put the book down!

I loved the characters and the storyline it flowed well and was a slow/medium burn romance which is very different to some of Katie’s other books that tend to burn a lot hotter and faster! However I seriously enjoyed this slower pace, the steam definitely began to pick up in book two and it felt right! Book two’s pace did slow down a little through the first half however I felt that it was needed for the story so that Aurora reaches her full potential and I enjoyed meeting the new characters especially Darius 😉.

If you love PNR reverse harems with witches/mages, reaper’s, gods and a hybrid thrown in to the mix then I definitely recommend this book!

Wow, what a tonal shift from the first book!

Aurora and her witches face a variety of tests and moral dilemmas in Aurora's Betrayal, with dire and optimistic results. As such, the novel is almost entirely tinted with the unsettling feeling that the other shoe is going to drop.

The complexity of the writing is almost seamless, with only a few minor bumps disrupting the smooth and immersive read.

I thought I was impatient for the second of the series to be released, but I think I'm going to lose my mind waiting for the third!

Holy crap

Gosh dang it, another cliffhanger ending and I’m going crazy wanting more. Aurora and Lane are freaking badasses, and I love it.
Lots of twists and turns in this one, and it will hit you right in the feels plenty of times. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book. I mean, I guess I don’t have a choice but to wait, but it’s going to be an impatient kind of waiting.
There’s just so much to love about this book and all it’s complex characters. You definitely have to read it.

I enjoyed the second book in this series. The beginning bounces around a bit as you get the different characters and their perspectives of what is going on. The storyline took some interesting turns throughout the book. We got some answers but were definitely left with more questions. Of course that ending has me very intrigued about what will happen next!

I just want more!

What a heart soaring and sexy but gut wrenching story. I fell in love along with Aurora and had my heart torn out with Aurora. I got so emotionally invested that I couldn't put this book down and hated the cliff hanger and epilogue because I just wanted to see what happens next.
