No Secret Like Nantucket: Sweet Island Inn Book 5 is by Grace Palmer. All families have secrets and sometimes those secrets are good and sometimes bad. The Bensons have their own.
Brent is cleaning out his Dad’s workshop when he finds the mobiles his Dad carved for the four children. Then he is stumped to finally find a fifth one. This one was made for Christopher. Who is Christopher?
Holly and Pete have a houseguest for an unspecified time and Holly is not happy. The guest is Pete’s cousin Rob who has been in prison. What influence will he have on ten-year-old Grady?
Sara just found out an employee is stealing from her. When she confronts him, he denies it was him. With no hard proof, she has to believe him. It will take a catastrophe to get him to admit the thefts.
Eliza goes to the doctor for her regular appointment but finds it is anything but regular. Worst of all, she forgot her phone at home and with the medication they gave her to calm down, she can’t call Oliver. No one knows where she is!
The book is really good and keeps you on your toes to find out what each family member is up to. Again, it needs some more proofing for spelling mistakes or usage.

The mystery in this story has to do with a mobile no one most of the family doesn't know about. This is the secret in the title. It's a minor part of the story, but it's quite sad. The rest of the story involves a film being made on the island, an early delivery, an unwanted houseguest, and theft from the restaurant. There is also a fire at the restaurant and some drama involving various relationships and the film adaptation of Dominic's book. It all comes together in the end, and it ends with a surprise announcement.

I give up. I paid for this book and read the first four but this one is off to a depressing start and the sixth doesn’t sound any better. I’ve read other authors who evoke Nantucket much better.

I can't believe we are book 5 of this series and these characters still stress me out. There is never a dull moment on the little island let alone at the Sweet Island Inn. And well now we have nosey Hollywood types in town. People who aren't only bringing an influx of cash to the island but are also inflating the egos of its residents, especially the reason they are all there for, Dominic.
Meanwhile, Mae's three daughters have their individual drama.
And the thing that was meant to stay buried, has been drug into the light of day, further stirring things up.
This series continues to be clean women's fiction. Clean, but not without affection. As always, with great woman's literature, you developed sympathy, empathy, and nostalgia for all of the characters along the way.

A great, refreshing story with amazing characters. You will love everything about this story, the characters, the story line and so much more. Your interest is grabbed and held until you read the last words and you can't stop turning the pages. You may find the characters are frustrating at times yet you still can't help but love them as you get to know them. A great read for a little escape from every day life.

A Cohesive Family
Once again Ms. Palmer has written a book about the Benson family: Mae, the matriarch with her significant other Dominic, Holly married to Pete with children Alice & Grady, Eliza married to Oliver with 2 daughters, Sara with boyfriend Joey, & Brent with girlfriend & her daughter Susanna. This book has numerous scenarios including: a new baby, a movie taking over the inn for 2 weeks, a felon cousin & a fire. I promise if you like books with family cohesiveness, this book is one you would love!

I was a volunteer ARC for this book for an honest review. The Benson family saga continues. I love that this book continues with the trials and tribulations of the Benson family. This book can be a stand alone also. There is just enough suspense to keep you reading. The storyline is great and is very true to life. The author is descriptive of the setting and you feel as if you are there in Nantucket.

Grace Palmer is an exception. Her characters are beautifully created. Slowly. Secrets kept are partial to the plot line. No fluff. Heart-wrenching failures and well-earned redemption. Each of the three daughters and the son have diverse lives in careers, some bad decisions, some astonishing success. Mae, a benchmark for motherhood, yet faces more challenges than is fair to be truthful. Book 5 shadows the beloved family further and with insightful surprises.

The fifth book in the A Sweet Island Inn series another great story as we see the Benson family and friends handle what is happening in their lifes at this time. The Nantucket Families
The story flowed nicely! I enjoyed learning more about each family member and how their lives were maturing. They make small town living in a resort town sound fun!

Wonderful, wholesome book. I loved the fact that each new chapter began with a different person until they were all brought together. It all made sense in the end.

Very sweet! Number 5 in the series and the first one I've read. Very much readable as a stand alone, but at the end I really want to know what happens next in this wonderful family's lives.

Like all the books in this series, this was a very good read. However, there were some continuity issues between books 3 and 5, which were somewhat disconcerting.
