Dorothy Sutton believes she knows who killed her mother, but secrets and lies abound in this sleepy English village.
When critical evidence goes missing, local constables are at a loss, but the eccentric detective, Gerald Bunting, refuses to give up until details of his investigation hit the newsstand.
This seems like a Poirot Parody, and not a very good one. You get no sense, other than annoyance, of the character’s personalities. And the mystery plot is as clear as mud. I will not be reading anymore of this series.
Whatever the reason Mr. Rice decided to make his main character (Bunting) to be like Hercules Poirot did nothing for his story. The dialogue from Bunting is annoying to say the least. I'm sure it was all supposed to be amusing but it was anything but. I personally do not recommend this book!
This quick, entertaining muder mystery follows a brilliant detective Gerald Bunting as he solve an interesting, complex case. It was fun and was able to enjoy the mystery and story.
