I‘ve really enjoyed the previous 20 minute series but I felt with this one some of the characters needed more of a storyline.

Another great instalment of my current favourite series. I love all the snippets of drama and mysteries in each characters lives , and love how we meet new characters in each new book and catch up with some that have been there since book 1

Not the strongest book in the series but the relationship development and the subplots of the book were written well. The book was dynamic and we'll characterising each character and I love how the different characters plot enterwine in each of these stories; it's very satisfying to watch it all play out.

Absolutely brilliant

Absolutely brilliant once again, there's not much Nordic can say that not already been said in my reviews of the other 8 books I have read so far in the 20 minutes series. Although I have never in my life come across a series like this before. I truly believe that many years of reading I can say without a doubt that Daniel Hurst the author of these books as written a series of book in a way I have never come across before in my life.like everyone. Taught at school to read ... A lot of children after being taught to read only read when necessary . I seemed to be one of a very few who asked to take book home. I would look around the house for books as my farther was a big reader although my mum did read I know it was never as much as my dad. I would take one of his book and go to my bedroom and read my dad's book. They where much harder than any school book I had taken home.I came across thousands upon thousands of words I had not heard or seen before. I just thought well I will struggle , as it was better than reading nothing. Each word I came across I kept trying to read the word by braking it down until eventually I got it. Obviously I didn't get them all. How pleased was I when I had mastered to read a new word..what I did not expect was to read a chapter of a cowboy book and not it having made sense. I was angry with myself because a chapter and not having a clue what it all ment I read only sis one would think I would have given up. Yet it has the most effect. I could read some of the words but I didn't know what they ment I had a find away to learn how I could understand the words I was reading. I did not give up not as all .... That was 56 years ago now in time I did learn the words. It also helped with my conversational skills anyhow. From those days to now I never stopped reading I have ended up over the years reading more and more..sometimes a book a nigh, others a book and a half others not quite a book. Depending on the length of the book. I often gladly go without sleep in favour of reading. I am definitely not one of those people who doze off by reading. It actually wakes me up. No matter how tired I am I have to literly not pick one up . .... I know as everyone else dose of fatal for me to actually pick a book up especially if I am particularly tired. Because I know it's another night without sleep. So when I say not to my knowledge as a series of book. I have not come round these before. The concept is simple but effective and brilliant. Totally different and addictive .I would advise to start on the series, I would bet my life on those that do the majority will also become addicted. Highly highly recommended

You already know I’m locked into this series like it’s my personal soap opera. But this one? This one gave me everything I needed and then broke my damn heart. Again.

Let’s get into it.

The moment I saw Tiffany’s chapter pop up, I thought she was going to be another filler POV but she ended up being one of the biggest highlights, and now she’s a POV I need to get back to. Shot Valentin in the shoulder after cracking him with her heel?? YES. I wanted her to unload the whole clip. I was so tired of him getting away with murder , literally, and finally, a woman fought back and made him bleed. It gave what it needed to give. Anytime Valentin shows up, I know it’s about to be an unhinged mess and I eat it up. I don’t want him caught just yet… but yeah, he’s gotta die for what he did to Ruth. I’m not letting that go.

Jelena and Bogdan? Chef’s kiss. This series has a million characters, but they are the emotional backbone. Nearly every book starts and ends with them for a reason. Their love story isn’t insta love fluff it’s rooted in pain, survival, and history. Him showing up at her job, confessing everything (well… not the whole truth, lol 😶), and asking if she still loved him? Ugh. I love it. They better make it out of this series alive. I’m still rooting for them.

Will’s storyline continues to be one of my favorites. He’s already gone through so much. losing his sight, losing his mom (RUTH 😭💔), and now finding out Louise is his long lost sister? A little too coincidental, sure. But I don’t even care. I teared up. I needed that little moment of sweetness. Especially after all the loss.

Meanwhile, Diego is still the absolute worst. Proposing to Lindsey while having just hooked up with April? Manipulating her for his law firm clout? Using her to cover up his addiction and past assaults? Trash. And Lindsey just sitting there like “he’s a little pushy but oh well”… GIRL. WAKE UP. Every red flag in existence is waving in your face.

There were a lot of POVs in this one — some that didn’t really need to be here (Patrice, Curtis…), but I get it. Hurst is setting up future chaos. Still, I’m missing some of the characters that should be getting page time. The gays and the black pepper keep disappearing, and I’m not loving that.

But overall, this one was juicy, emotional, and packed with tension. A standout in the series. Between Jelena’s healing, Will’s reveal, Louise stepping into peace, and Valentin finally getting clipped — this book changed the game.

On to the next. I’m ready. I’m suspicious. I’m emotionally fragile. Let’s go.
Next book: 20 Minutes to Change a Life. We shall see.

★★★★★ 4.5 stars (rounded up)

Now six weeks after the events of "20 Minutes Before Christmas" , the festivities of the holiday season have been and gone and now love is in the air for Valentine's Day. And once again, our favourites are back with a few new ones to pepper the pages but will their stories continue? Or were they just here for the day?

>b>Jelena has been our starter in each of the books and she kicks things off once again. Now settled in Belgrade and working as a waitress and though she misses Bogdan, she knows she did the right thing in leaving. But while other couples are celebrating the day of love, how will Jelena's end?

Amongst the Valentine's day revelers are Lindsey and Diego as well as Harry trying his best to impress his secret crush. Newcomer Sam has a plan to win back girlfriend Rachel while Tom receives a surprise at the station. And Will is on a search of his own with Chantelle's help. Meanwhile, a murder investigation is looking into unsolveds and now still missing people for links that could tie them to the spate of killings in the bustling city.

Many of the characters are well established now as they pop up throughout the series while others have been and gone with more popping up along the way.

While this wasn't the strongest of the series (and I see I'm not the first to say that), it was still rather enjoyable as we watch our favourites' stories unfold...some of the spectacularly.

As always, an entertaining read and I look forward for what's in store for our friends in the coming installments.

Another brilliant read in the 20 Minutes series by Daniel Hurst. I finish one and can't wait to start the next to find out what happens with the characters that have previously appeared and to meet the new ones that appear in each book. Recommend that you take a look and give them a go, you'll soon get hooked into them.

I think I will take a break from my 20 Minutes reading marathon and try to catch up with my NetGalley obligations. Truth be told, I get a little tired of feeling like the theme of these is drinking (over indulging, at that) and sex. I do like most of the characters, though, and want to come back to them before I forget who they are, what they have done, etc.

Although this may not have been the strongest book in the series, I still enjoyed it very much. Some of the characters seemed to have stagnated and there wasn’t as much progress as I had hoped. Still, I’m looking forward to reading the next book to see what’s in store for our growing cast of characters.

Like another episode of an intriguing drama

It’s working really well seeing all the 20 minutes series now building up. The characters are familiar and it’s great to see all the sub stories and cross over stories develop. Cannot wait for number 10!

Absolutely love this series. We meet new interesting characters and catch up with familiar favourites. Their lives interwine in a really interesting way and because each chapter covers a 20 minute timeline its to Daniel Hurst's credit that his characters are well rounded and worth investing in.

Felt a bit repetitive at times during some of the chapters. Instead of expanding the storyline of the character it seemed like the author was struggling to find enough to put into the chapter about them. Not one of my favourites but will look forward to the next book anyway.

9th book in the 20-minute series by Hurst kept me enthralled. 20 Characters - some new and some from previous books - have their lives changed be events that intercede with each other…this one in London (until the end) on Valentines Day. Can’t wait to find out what’s going to happen next!

Another great read

Interesting Valentine's day experiences for the various characters. Bogdan and Jelenas story is wonderfully told as is Wills. Can't wait to read the next in the series.

I really enjoyed 20 Minutes Of Valentine's Day by Daniel Hurst a series of interconnected short stories.

Daniel manages to capture true love on Valentine's day. Some of his characters may not be feeling the love and have only bitterness and one in particular more murders on their mind.

Very different type of series

I just love these books!! I love how all the people are connected in some way to another tube passenger. I cannot put these books down. I've been reading at least one book a day. Thank you Mr. Burst for this unique style of writing.

Another great part of the 20 minute series. My only negative is that I wish there was more than one chapter per person - I want to know what happens next!

Short

The story was too short and I feel like there was room for more in depth accounts of each characters story. It's interesting enough to continue to the next book. I can't wait to see what happens next in every ones lives

I can't get any other reading done (my soon-to-be-due library books are glaring at me) as I'm obsessively trying to catch up on this series. Mr. Hurst, you are almost too prolific to keep up with. How you are writing these so fast is beyond me. But thanks!

20 Minute Series #9

Relationship development and some sub-plots make up the theme for this book. The original characters are now well-established. It's not the best book ijn the series so far, but it's still entertaining and enjoyable.

Book 9 of 20

Probably one of the most joyful books so far. I feel good. I feel like the tables are starting to turn for several people.

Valentin- F you dude! I laughed so hard
Harry- His chapter could have been a Disney episode. YAASSS
Lindsay & Diego- She's sooo trusting and he's soo skeevy
April- I have not cared for her since the beginning. I think she's basic and didn't see the value of her having chapters so early on. But I'm starting to see it now. She's collateral damage and it's sad af.
Will - I cheered!!!!
Tom - I am angry on your behalf
Mark- My heart goes out to his family

Almost halfway through this series. There are soo many rotating storylines. I can't wait to see it all play out.
