Some fun interactions and cool concepts and panels. Aquarius' inclusion was absolutely the highlight of this volume; her interactions with Lucy are both nostalgic and touching in their own way (and, quite honestly, something I've really missed). A lot of good content for fans to chew on, it offers laughs, action, and character moments, but still feels like it's missing that special Fairy Tail ingredient.
One sitting - done. Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Volume 9 continues our journey with the main crew of Fairy Tail. Without going into too much detail, because spoilers of main series as well as this one, I’m so glad we got to see a beloved character once again. It was so good to have them present in this book. Overall, a super fast nostalgic-based 5 star read for the series.
After a sound defeat by the disciples of Selene the Moon Dragon (of course that is also the name of the moon goddess in Greek mythology) Fairy Tail experiences a few more surprises as ray and Natsu are the center of a little moon viewing party then cast against their friends who have been transformed through the yokai spirit arts. When all else seems to go for the worse an old ally makes a return to the team and she is going to bring her own party while Yoko tries to get an ever degrading situation from getting out of control.
Honestly even with all of the pervertedness that shows up in the books now and there I can always count on Wendy to pull out the cute card and her yokai form is all adorable even if Carla and Happy get a much more viscous form that do her bidding. With all of the cat-pun words and motions even up to her falling back into her kind personality she continues to be a shining example of the best of the guild. As for Lucy for every bit of cute we get of Wendy we get a wet and wild Lucy as she takes on the form a snake like yokoi attuned to water and none the shier for her exposed though generally censored breast and thankfully for all involved with trial and error the team gets to face Erza the spider lady with less damage than needed.
In the mean time there is a lone swordsman now wandering the lands after being summoned to face against Selene and like the other members of his guild he is no weakling. With a dangerous foe to face her Selene is deciding not to hold back for the moment in hopes this man can provide her with a challenge worthy of alleviating her boredom. :)
The new arc gets more intense as our heroes are transported in an entirely new world, with its own set of rules and new enemies to fight. And how fun it is! I love how each arc feels so original and totally manages to make the story progress without being boring. Selene and her goons are so fun (this is the kind of girl power I love to see!), and Suzaku seems like an incredible new character. To see someone defeat the two strongest Fairy Tail members in one strike is absolutely terrifying, and I’m equally scared and excited to see him get serious during a fight. This arc promises to be good!
And of course, I couldn't help but cry at the sight of an old friend. This is the kind of emotions that only Fairy Tail can bring me, and moments like this remind me why I love this series so much.
Another new volume in the long-running shonen manga series. Distinct characters and humor mixed with quick-paced action and the occasional touch of romance.
In this volume, the Fairy Tail gang face off against some unexpected demons drawn from Japanese mythology—kasa-obake (umbrella monster), nure-onna (body of a snake and head of a woman), bake-neko (cat yokai or monster), suiko (water tiger), and kappa (Japanese river spirit). The translation notes give quick explanations of these. One of the reasons I like manga is this cultural insight.
Still good, but I have similar feelings about this one as I did about the last. The pacing is just off for me and I feel like too little happens.
There are good moments, and I will say Aquarius carries this volume for me. The ending is good and leaves me very interested in the next one, cause it does a great job of raising the stakes.
Also, the mini chapter at the end with Grey and Juvia was adorable and hilarious. I very much enjoy those extra bits.
Me gusta mucho el rumbo que va tomando la historia y que cada vez les cueste más derrotar a los dragones. La aparición de cierto personaje me ha encantado y la escena extra igual, necesito mas Gruvia.

Some amazing fights in this one! Loved that Aquarius came back to save the day. Also does anyone else think that the new bad guy kind of looks like Erza?
