My brother dies, my apartment burns down a week later, and a mysterious letter tells me I'm a "guardian"?
Yeah, sure. I might be blonde, but I'm not stupid.
Because let's get this straight: I don't believe in magic, but I don't believe in coincidence either. So I'm getting to the bottom of this.
Scott basically raised me, and his death just doesn't add up. I'm going to find the truth, even if I have to enrolled at some place called Elysium Academy to do it. Now I'm taking classes like “Protective Magic 101,” playing magical sports, and learning from literal cupids, all to figure out what happened to my brother.
The only thing in my way? Marius, the blazingly hot leader of the mysterious Order of Eden.
Turns out crashing the midnight parties hosted by the elite societies is frowned upon. And for someone who’s supposed to protect humanity, Marius has got a hell of a dangerous edge. He's intense, commanding, and has a violent streak, and I can't seem to stay out of his way--because he's dating my roommate.
I need to find the truth and get out, but the reality is more complicated than I imagined. Scott might not have been who I thought he was, and my presence at Elysium might be because of a huge mistake.
Because I'm not a guardian after all. I'm human.
And as good as dead if the Order finds out.
Elysium Academy is a YA/NA paranormal academy romance series with a slow-burn hate to love romance and a sassy, snarky heroine. Although it is set in a shared universe with Hades Academy, it can be read as a standalone series. It contains mature themes include mention of violence and suicide but is not a reverse harem.
This is a Fab YA/NA paranormal academy romance! Filled with mystery, intrigue and a strong and sassy heroine, we’re off to Elysium Academy. It’s fast paced and has many secrets, surprises and twists and turns as well as a slow-burn hate to love romance. It’s a great read and I am excited to read the next book!
A fun and snarky return to the world of Hades Academy, but this time we're on the side of good! Or, well, the side of the Guardians at least. And they're a lot more human than they'd like to think.
We follow Quinn, 18 years old, orphaned and mourning the death of her amazing techbro older brother. Angry at his funeral being gatecrashed by some weirdo, horrified at the loss of her brother's apartment in a terrible fire and left with nowhere to go, she recieves a letter... But for Hogwarts it ain't. Elysium Academy is calling, and Quinn's starting to think that these mysterious "Gaurdians" have something to do with her brother's death. Despite being preeetty sure she's 100% human, she hops on the unicorn to take her off to school only to find herself dumped in the middle of a major mystery of which her bro was only a small part. Who is the gorgeous Marius, and what's up with this Order of Eden business anywho?
Basically, if you liked Hades, you'll like this. You like snippy snarky heroines and paranormal mysteries set on US campuses where the hot boys play not-your-usual sports and the lessons are crazy? Yup, you'll like this too. And whoever you are, unless you have a heart of stone you'll like Steve (yes, there's an angel in training called Steve).
I personally found some of the mystery a bit confusing at times, and there's not as much teaching/lore time as there was in Hades. It's a lot more US college kids with fratboy parties, sports matches and secret societies. Quinn's also quite an aggressive character to begin with, so I found her a bit confusing at times too, like not always following her logic. I loved her easy friendship with her newfound BFFs though, and the romance angle doesn't override the plot.
Twists, turns, and a little light smouldering leaves plenty open for Quinn's second semester... Providing she survives that long.
-I received an ARC of this e-book from the author. This does not influence my review-
Quinn and her brother lost their parents when she was 8 and he was 18. He raised her and when she was 18, he jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge to his death. Everything was going from bad to worse…weird people showing up trying to get her to take a letter and listen to what is being said. Then, her apartment building was on fire and she lost everything. When she met with a woman, she took her to a unicorn and the unicorn took her to the Academy. There, she will learn what she truly is…maybe! She meets several people and realizes it is about angels and demons and balance. But she is totally human, who brought her there and why? Will she be kicked out? Things are not adding up and it is up to her to find out the problems and solve them…plus throw in an ancient secret order…and you have a real mystery to solve!
I really enjoyed this new book in the Hades/Elysium series of books. The MC Quinn finds herself on her own after the unexplained death of her brother. Through a series of events, she finds herself at Elysium Academy where she knows she doesn't belong but stays to try to figure out why her brother died. As she investigates she learns about the academy, the balance between good and evil and more importantly, about herself and the legacy she realizes her brother gave her. If you loved the Hades series or just love Academy paranormal books, I think you will enjoy this book as much as I did. Happy reading!
When Quinn’s brother died she lost the person in her world she could count on. Raised by Scott since their parents died when she was eight, Quinn has no one to turn to. Then her apartment is burned down and she receives a mysterious message inviting her to Elysium Academy. Seems crazy but she has nowhere else to go and wants to find out what happened to Scott. Quinn tumbles into a world of angels and demons and magic and cupids and even, somehow, friends. The characters are well rounded and the relationships build up interestingly. I received an advance copy of this book and voluntarily left a review.
If have mystery and wanting answers. WE take a different way of Guardians and demons. We need balance. So where does Quinn belong? Her brother is dead and she lost everything. So who are these strange guys showing up? Who is this women bring me to Elysium Academy? What is really going on? Can I make friends? Can I find the truth? What will happen when they find out I'm human? Will Chaos really destroy everything?

This is the second series I’ve read by this author. I loved her Hades Academy series so jumped on board with this one instantly. I’m so glad I did. I absolutely loved it! It’s written wonderfully and flows so well. Couldn’t put it down.
Mystery, twists within twists, one awesome heroine, and gorgeous Marius. Not knowing who she can trust, who Scott really was, rethinking her joining the academy makes for one interesting and fast paced read. I can’t wait to read book two.
Welcome to Elysium Academy, where angels -or guardians as they prefer to call themselves- are trained to help mankind, maintain the Balance and keep Chaos at bay. But then, what is Quinn doing here? She's just a human. Or is she?
A brilliant storyline with plenty of mystery right from page one, with amazing plot twists and excellent world and character building. If you liked the Hades Academy series, then this new series by Abbie Lyons is a must read!!!
I am so happy to go back to the world of Hades and Elysium academies! This is the start of new character Quinn’s journey at Elysium Academy, a place she is sure she does not belong. I loved Quinn, loved the setting and can’t wait for the next one. If you loved Hades Academy, you will not doubt love this one too!
This is a brilliant read. Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building. Can't wait to read what the author brings out next. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
Finally we meet the counter part of Hades Academy, Elysium Academy. And if you think that the demons at Hades were dealing with a lot well so are the guardian angels. Secrets, mistakes, hidden agendas are all a part of the Elysium Academy and it's time for some of this to come in the open.
