You’ve heard the term “old soul” before . . .
But what if some souls simply never die at all?

It couldn’t be a worse time for Everly Beck to find her soulmate—the same day she is diagnosed with terminal cancer. Then again, the timing couldn’t be much better either. At twenty-two, a matter of months is all she has left, and her bucket list includes some epic items that demand a helping hand.

Reeling from an impossible diagnosis, Everly chances upon Easton Green as he’s about to jump off the New River Bridge. Beck persuades him to stick around for just a little while longer, and as possible fate would have it, Easton is exactly what she needs to get through this difficult time.

Yet, there’s something unique about Easton that Beck can’t put her finger on. He’s hiding his past—perhaps for good reason. Could their bond be enough to transcend a lifetime?

I never considered myself a creative person, until a sudden spark of inspiration left me writing my first book. The endless possibilities for creativity and imagination have kept me dedicated to the craft ever since.

I find myself captivated by mixing real life with the unknown, a perspective glimpse on what lies beyond our reality. And driven by deep, unrefined emotions, that are at the heart of life’s beauty and tragedy.

If my work has resonated with you, I would be thrilled to hear about it. Please consider leaving a review, subscribing to my email list, or reaching out to me directly. Thank you for reading and I hope to hear from you soon.

Will she let herself enjoy life for the time she has left ...

Phew, I had a sudden heart stop!
I thought this was the end but then I remembered the opening sentence and that book being the first in a series, so it could not end like this.

« 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑓𝑖𝑟𝑠𝑡 𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑒 𝐼 𝑑𝑖𝑒𝑑 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒 ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑑𝑒𝑠𝑡 ...
𝑆𝑡𝑖𝑙𝑙, 𝑖𝑡 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑚𝑦 𝑓𝑎𝑣𝑜𝑟𝑖𝑡𝑒𝑠 ... 𝑏𝑒𝑐𝑎𝑢𝑠𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡’/ 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑖𝑛 𝑤ℎ𝑖𝑐ℎ 𝐼 𝑚𝑒𝑡 𝐸𝑎𝑠𝑡𝑜𝑛 𝐺𝑟𝑒𝑒𝑛 »

I must say Everly is not the easiest character to like, yet I have never been in her position, so she has every right to be a bit mean, selfish or jealous. Only at the beginning of her life, and already robbed of it.
Why she explores all the sides of a untreatable diagnosis announcement. Anger, despair, fear ...
She is only human, and experience the unfairness of life. Yet in its magnitude, fate offers her one last gift, Easton Green.
He is a mystery, an enigma. A young man full of empathy, one who seems to understand her and sees past the mask she presents to others.

Difficult to say more without throwing away the deliciousness of this sweet story.
Just know this book is the moving tale of two souls who have finally found one another despite fate’s meddling and cynical ways

Now to wait for the sequel, The Second Life of Everly Beck, releasing next June, and to see how they will find their way back to the other.

The first time I read a review of this book I was interested. There was a lot going on right then and I thought it would be too heavy. Someone dying of cancer and all. So I skipped it.

When I came across it again I thought "what the heck, I'll give it a try". A wise decision on my part.

The celebration of life and love is so vivid, the heartbreak bone deep and the story is so passionate be it in joys or sorrow. I read it in a day even with my busy life.

There's a mystery in this story. In the beginning you can tell something's not quite right. Easton is an anomaly, he's marvelous, sweet and so very secretive. It takes a while getting to the answers but the build up is great. This author is good at teasing you just enough to make her book almost impossible to put down.

I'm very impressed. I definitely look forward to her future books in the series.

Very sweet romance about Everly Beck who meets Easton as he is getting ready to jump off a bridge. Everly has just gotten a diagnosis of terminal cancer. The book moves swiftly through their romance. The ending is stunning. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to be an early reader in exchange for my review.

So impressed!
No review will give this book justice. This book was so well written that it was made for the Big Screen! Full of detail and every emotion from smiles and laughter to passion and heartache. This is a timeless love story to last more than just one lifetime. Beck is so easy to relate to and Easton is someone everyone needs and wants in their lifetime. Easton is a “broken soul...a tethered soul” but one I would quickly without hesitation sign up to feel and share life with. I can’t wait for more! Well done!

Tw/// attempted suicide

I did not enjoy this book at all. A lot of that has to do with my own preferences but the writing itself was not that good and i also had a particular issue with how one aspect was handled.

I’ll start with the good things; the beginning. The first line itself was a great opener and the tone of the writing felt like it was leading up to a great plot.

Unfortunately the plot was a copy and paste of MULTIPLE other books from the ya romance genre and had a lot more focus on how besotted the main characters were after just ONE meeting. Yes there was a terrible case of insta love and thats one sure way to make me lose interest in a book in one go. The particular nuance in that trope just had me laughing, someone who’s lived MULTIPLE lives for centuries, meets this person for A WEEK AND SUDDENLY “in all my lives, ive never loved someone like you.” I STARTED LAUGHING INSTANTLY. LIKE HOW????? love doesnt occur in such a small amount of time😭. As for the dialogue, it was downright cringey, and the banter was worse. One of the reasons i felt this way probably is because there was no depth to the characters. If characters had depth, no matter how cringey their dialogue is, I’d appreciate it as part of their personality, but due to the lack of actual depth, the dialogue and banter just felt forced and honestly irrelevant. The scifi element too was barely explored. The concept; while a very frequently used trope, is something i still enjoy to read a lot and I wish we got more backstory with it.

Now with the issue. One of the characters attempted suicide and yes he was talked out of it, but the thought process of the mc regarding this situation was “i thought you were crazy” and “deranged”. And the author actually made it a laughing gig???? It urks me that something so serious was dealt this particular way. Not only did it feel forced, but also it was used for comedic effect?? I don’t think it should have been handled that way.

Overall, i think the author had the potential to make this a truly great story, but execution of the idea was too generic and for me, simply boring.

Note: i Got an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This story is one of the most tragic and beautiful at the same time that I have read.
What would you feel if you knew that you were going to die at 22?
Every has just learned that her cancer is terminal and she is still trying to digest the news when she runs into Easton, a young man who is about to jump off a bridge.
Everly convinces him not to do it and invites him to dinner. They starts chatting and Everly doesn’t know why but Easton makes her feel at peace, he is the only one who knows about her condition.
As the days go by, Easton becomes the perfect friend for Everly, being her support in bad times, her accomplice in their new adventures and the boy for whom her heart wants.
It’s such a beautiful love story ❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍
When I finished the book I keep asking myself, why? Why now? Why so soon? Will they meet again in another life?
❤️❤️❤️the book. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!

“I’m what’s called a Tethered Soul, Beck.” Easton’s gaze dropped down to the dirt before him. He looked as broken as the day I met him. “No matter how many times I die, my soul returns. In all my lives, I’ve never loved someone like you. You’re it for me. And when you pass on to another dimension in time . . . I’ll remain. A new place, a new family, but I will always . . . have the same broken heart, and the same damn tethered soul. Say something! Anything!” Easton pled. “I love you.” It was the one thing I knew to be true.

“Are you afraid of dying?” Easton asked before he looked over the river.
“Of course, I am. Who wouldn’t be?” I said.
“I was too. The first time I died.”

Thanks to the author for sending me the review copy of this marvelous book. The Tethered Soul of Easton Green is one of those books that keeps you up all night, turning the pages frantically to find out what happens next, but at the same time you don’t want the story to end. I was sucked into this book from the very first page and was completely hooked until the very last. The writing is silky smooth, character building flawless. I liked Everly quite a lot. Despite being terminally ill she stayed strong and tried to live her days as normally as she possibly could. Her internal monologues were exceptionally touching and thought provoking. The chemistry between her and Easton was beautiful, their emotions felt very raw and real. I wanted to learn a bit more about Easton’s past lives. Hopefully in the next book there will be more about what he had been up to for the past 300 years.
This first installment ended in a major cliffhanger, which left me eagerly anticipating the sequel. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

Wow, this was such a surprising read. The blurb had me really intrigued, and I was really wondering what this would play out.

Beck is dying and comes across Easton as he is about to end his life. From that moment on they are drawn together and finding solace and happiness with each other. And somehow despite Beck’s time running out quicker than either one of them like, this is such a positive and hopeful story.

I am really curious about how this series will continue, and I loved these two characters so much that I hope there will be more of them and to find out more about the mystery that is Easton Green.

Highly recommend.
(Despite having a very light paranormal element, I would not class this as a paranormal romance)

Wow. I don’t think I have the words to explain exactly what I just read. The storyline was brilliant, something that I’ve definitely never read before.
The love story was both sweet and quick. I liked all of the characters, embraced the lessons along the way, and enjoyed seeing the eye opening experiences for them all.
The writing was a bit juvenile in some places, some of the things the characters thought or said were done in such a way that it pulled me out of the scene a bit.
Overall, I definitely enjoyed this one and am interested in seeing what else this author has to come.

Wow, I am so glad I got to read this book!

I love to discover new authors and books and this book right here is one that I will remember for a long time. It's one of those stories that makes you think differently, look at different perspectives and understand them and just constantly wonder about the story and it's characters.

I am so so glad that there is going to be a second book, I hope there will be more afterwards! I want to see Beck and Easton's love and how it grows and changes with each life they have.

I'd love to see others read this book, and I'm so excited to see the story continue!

Thank you to NetGalley and Laura C. Reden for the earc in return for an honest review!

This was such a good book! And it was so well written! It was captivating and touched my soul!
Laura is an amazing author and has a way to drawing you in, making you feel the characters.

Both of these characters are so in touch with each other and what they are going through. Beck is dying, Easton is about to end his life.... both are drawn together trying to heal the broken parts of one another.

I cannot wait to see how this story goes in the second book.

A beautiful book that made me laugh and cry, its also full of hope and joy, love and commitment. Everly Beck has just been diagnosed with a terminal condition when she comes across Easton Green as he’s about to jump off a bridge. This follows Everly as it becomes harder to keep her diagnosis to herself, trying not to hurt her family and not fall for Easton.

This is an unusual take on dealing with something like this, but one that I’d love to believe is true. The highs and lows are so real, the writing is excellent and although you wouldn’t think it could be, the ending is exactly right. Loved it.

This was a real sweet story.
Full of passion, romance and heart wrenching emotion
Even through the emotion, there was laughter and thats how it should be done. A little bit of everything all mashed up together.
It's very well constructed, written in a way that's so easy to follow and read, leaving you turning the pages until you realise there's no more book left.
The characters are great, relatable and easy to like.
All in all, it was a great read and will definitely pick up again.

I loved this book. I was gripped from the first page and immediately drawn to Everly and Easton. Everly is so easy to like and you’re really hoping she finds happiness in her final days. Easton is the perfect gentleman and is just what Everly needs. I loved the twists and the relationships. The writing is brilliant. And OMG that ending had me gasping in shock and ugly crying. It was so emotional. I need to read the next book in the series.

I didn't really know what I was getting myself into going into this book. I ended up really enjoying it. It was different from my usual reads. A book about accepting one's fate and enjoying the time left, something we should all do. And realizing love can come at any time.

Thanks to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book!

This book was incredible...I was so worried about the cliffhanger ending until I realized there was a second book! It reads like contemporary romance but is really fantasy and I liked how grounded it was with the emotions of the main character expressed perfectly. I highly recommend this book and will definitely look forward to the sequel!!

I loved this book. I’m finding it hard to talk about because it sort of blew my mind. One person dying and the other who can’t die? How is this going to make a love story was what I thought when I chose to read it. Well um I oh help how do I say this without giving things away? Let’s just say that it is very hopeful at the end and I loved it. It touched my heart and got me thinking and that to me is what a good book should do.

As an avid reader it has become such an unusual experience to read a book with an unfamiliar story line. Yes the characters and details change but in general you can almost always guess the ending. This book, the series, the author is amazing! It is a wonderful world, with characters you quickly begin to love, and it follows their stories through all of these twists and turns no one would expect. Please take the time to read this book. It will not be a decision you regret.

The Tethered Soul of Easton Green starts off quick-paced and hooked me right in. I could picture each scene beautifully as if a movie were playing in my head. I just absolutely love the tone that was set in the opening chapter. Frankly, it did a great job of introducing the main characters and showcasing their chilling yet fateful first meeting. It's by far one of my favorite parts of the book.

Unfortunately, I didn't feel the same fascination for the rest of the story up until the main characters took the next step in their relationship. It got a lot more interesting and intriguing after that.

As far as character dynamics go, Everly and Easton had great chemistry together. Although some of the dialogue between them felt a little forced at times, it didn't deter me from enjoying their love story. I also kind of wish their relationship was a bit more of a slow burn since it felt like Everly liked him a bit too quickly without knowing much about him. Their relationship could have been even more beautiful had it developed more naturally.

Main Characters:
Everly -> Initially, I wasn't sure I liked Everly's character that much since she frustrated me with her mood swings, but that was understandable since she was trying to cope with the fact that she was dying. By the end, she grew on me and changed a bit for the better.

Easton -> I really liked Easton, he was sweet, charming and so attentive towards Everly. I just wish we knew more about him than just the surface level, apart from his big secret of course.

Ending and Final Thoughts:
Can I just say the ending came out of nowhere? I did not expect THAT to happen. . . at all. I'm genuinely super curious about the direction the next book will take.

In all this was an interesting romance novel. The supernatural elements could have been expanded on and explored more but ultimately I liked how straightforward the writing was.

I was super excited to read this one and I found it disappointing. The author is not a bad writer, and the story has so much potential, but overall I felt it fell flat of expectations.

There are a few things I felt could have been done better. I felt it odd that the title character is never really fully delved into and neither he nor the love interest (the narrator of the story) felt fully developed. I didn't find the main character particularly likable. I wasn’t super invested in either character which meant that some of the really poignant and sad moments left me feeling unaffected though they could have really made me cry if I had been fully invested. And I finished the book feeling disappointed that the ending felt forced and thus lost a lot of meaning for me.

To be honest, I would have rated this book higher but what killed it for me completely was the subtle misogynistic undertones. There’s a lot of instances where I felt it was unnecessary for the female narrator to make such harsh and sexist statements regarding other female characters, especially because this is rated YA. It’s clearly internalized misogyny to me, but I don’t love the idea of that being passed on to impressionable teen/young women. Statements regarding how women were dressed or how they chose to look were sometimes downright mean and it not only didn’t endear me to the character, but it left me disliking the book when it could have been sometime I felt was ok, even if I didn’t love it.

I really like the premise and if not for the misogynistic language I would have been up for reading the rest of the series, but overall it ends up falling flat and being a book I wouldn’t recommend, which really disappoints me.
