Welcome to Spellbound, where paranormal is the new normal.

The arrival of the National Spell Championships brings out High Priestess Limpet’s competitive side. The coven is forced to practice like their lives depend on it and—judging from the menacing look in Limpet’s eye—that just might be the case. Unfortunately, Emma is disqualified for not being a witch, but that comes in handy when one of the best casters on a rival team is found dead and Emma is tasked with quietly finding the killer before the whole competition is cancelled.

In the meantime, Emma’a demigod father is back in town and determined to teach Diana the old ways. Emma wants her daughter toppling blocks, not buildings, and lays down the law with dear old dad, which goes over like holy water in a vampire’s bath. With far more than a competition at stake, Spellbound’s favorite sorceress is up to her neck in magical trouble.

Will Emma prevail in her crusade against crime and cataclysm or will she finally fall prey to the forces of darkness?

The end you would want

Reading the last book of Annabel's first series. Sweet because I love her writing, her characters and the mysteries they solve. Bitter because this is the last one that I'll read with these characters. The murderer kept me guessing right to the end and her motive was altruistic if completely bonkers. Throw in a bit of evil demigod and the story hurtled along. Thanks, Annabel, I enjoyed the journey x

Excellent ending to a great series

While I'm sad hat the series in Spellbound has come to an end, I am incredibly grateful that I found the author and came along for the ride. The ending was very satisfying, and while I'll miss Emma and company, I am very glad I made their acquaintance

The Spellbound ever after series was fun to read. Emma and Daniel were put to the test to solve the problems that occurred in their town. Diane, their daughter who had wings and was advanced for her age and Emma's demigod father that came back to teach Diane the old ways kept them on their toes. As usual Emma was involved in the current murder and helping to find the killer.

Nice ending to a fun series

I have enjoyed both Spellbound series since they came out. The stories were cute and fun and each had a very unique aspect to it. It’s the way a formulaic Paranormal Cozy Mystery should be written, because it wasn’t done in a formulaic way. You knew there’d be a murder and finally a capture of the villain, but it never followed a set path.

The fact that the stories also tried to bring out the best of each character and hoped for the best to happen in the world, was so appreciated. Yes there is bad in the world, and evil, but what better way to fight it, then by trying to be the best ‘you’ possible and make a positive difference in the world, when and where you can. It’s something I strive for myself and it’s nice to know that others in the world like to think it’s feasible too and will even write stories applauding such efforts. Including a benediction to the world’s loss of Robin Williams, that was touching and heartfelt message.

I am sorry to see that this was the final story in this series, but I can understand that the author wants to expand other series and hopefully create new stories to entertain us, the reader.

The way the author brought everything to a head in the final chapter was well done. Calix had to be handled, and truthfully was handled incredibly well. To the point that this break is only temporary, but still the break only happened because of his own actions. The only negative I would point out is that he wasn’t given a trial or judged by a ruling body. Emma is a lawyer, in this case she acted as judge, jury and executioner. Maybe fairly and even in self defense or in defense of her daughter, but I think it might have been better to have her go to court and have a sentence ruled against Calix in absentia. Yes, he still wouldn’t have had his voice heard by the court, but I think it would have added a fun twist and be more honest to the characters. There could even have been a law on the books regarding demigods, which Emma could had used as her argument.

I hope that there will be a return to the Spellbound series sometime in the future, if even only as a short story or one off novel. The characters are too diverse and unique not to utilize them again.

Great Final Book! ❤️❤️❤️

This series is a continuation of the “Spellbound” series. It could be read as a standalone series, although I would not recommend it. Many of the characters of the former series are featured here and I believe the reader would find it confusing to relate to the story and its characters without having read the Spellbound series beforehand. The FMC Emma is a remarkable character. She is determined, smart, strong, funny and sarcastic. Emma is a “new” sorceress, having been brought up as a human and only recently finding out she is something else. This series takes place much after her discovery and development as a sorceress and after getting settled in her new home on the paranormal world. Emma works as a defense lawyer, although her true calling is solving the mysteries behind the crimes that are happening in her town. There is mystery, magic, action and plenty of surprises. If you are looking for a fun, light and interesting series, then you will definitely enjoy reading this one. Recommended 🩷🩷🩷

EAT PREY SPELL: A FINE CAP TO THE SPELLBOUND CAULDRON!

EAT PREY SPELL:

A FINE CAP TO THE SPELLBOUND CAULDRON. This book in the Spellbound Series continues Emma's and Daniel's story which includes all of their dear, quirky friends and loved ones.

Once she found herself in SPELLBOUND, Emma was never alone. She plowed through every problem with grace, magic, and love. Her strong heart and her belief in the good in everyone, won over any obstacle thrown at her.

STARRY HOLLOW came into being through her experiences and travels making even more dear friends and allies in maintaining the good in their magical world. We look forward to seeing even more adventures from Annabel Chase. We're not done yet with Spellbound or it's inhabitants and hope there is more to come in the lives of these dear characters. ❤️

Eat Prey Spell

What can I say. Well if you enjoy the paranormal cozey mysteries then you have found one of the best. The array of characters are vibrant, colorful, quirky and bold and of course one schemer that will stop at almost nothing to get what he wants and there comes a time when you will be completely entranced the characters will draw you in from the very beginning, then you will be enticed further through the intrigue while the exciting plot keeps you turning page after page unable to put down until you've reached its unexpected and climatic conclusion. Acquire " Eat Prey Spell " so you yourself can enjoy it but this book is the last in a fabulous series so you might want to check out the full series first You certainly won't be disappointed. ENJOY 😊 Kat

Diana is watching Frozen. (Good choice!) It also turns out that she has wings.

There's a national contest for casting spells and Emma has to compete.

Calix, the evil big-bad, shows up with a stuffed giraffe for Diana.

The murder for this volume? The person most likely to win the spell casting contest.

Things get worse between Emma and Calix. For good reasons Emma suspects Calix has his own agenda for her daughter and she has to figure out a way to stop him. Matters become severe enough that there is going to be some kind of showdown between her and her father. What actually happens is very moving.

She's also been having trouble vomiting. Wonder why?

A good conclusion to this particular series.

My review cozy paranormal series

The first Spellbound series was one on the first series in the cozy paranormal genre that I read and it's still a favorite. I've always loved mysteries and the combination with the lighter side of paranormal and great characters makes for a wonderful series. I've grown attached to these characters over the years as they have grown and the town changed. I hate to see the series end because Spellbound continues to be my favorite setting in any of Annabel Chase's books. This was an unpredictable conclusion yet satisfying. I hope Chase creates a spin-off with some of Spellbound's characters or the town itself.

I have enjoyed every one of the books in the Spellbound and Spellbound Ever After series. I will miss Emma, Daniel, Diana, Garreth, Sedgwick and Magpie as well as all of the other characters in the series. I appreciate Annabel Chase finding a way to honor each character in this final book, whether it be in one of Emma's dreams, as a memory or in passing in the story. All of these have been entertaining and brought me so many hours of enjoyment. I've loved my visits to Spellbound and hope to see some of the characters crossover to other series in the future. Goodbye for now to Emma and crew.

Best series I've read yet.

Absolutely loved all of Spellbound, I can say I secretly hope Annabel picks the story back up again in the little town of Spellbound and we get to meet a grown up Diana and the other surprise at the end would be great to see developments! I Absolutely loved all of the characters. Dr. Hall and Agnes as my true favorites. I hope to see more of spellbound one way or another! Give us a spinoff!
I have bounced back and forth accordingly with Starry Hallow and hope to see some other characters from Spellbound pop back up.
Thank you for the amazing adventure!

Superb!

I fabulous ending to Spellbound Ever After! I am sure Spellbound Legacy eventually will be even better with all the children grown.

The mystery and ending on this one were amazing and worth the reading of the series! Absolutely love this authors writing style and the flare of her characters. Found her through the Crossroads Queen and have read almost all her series written for which I am sure Kindle Unlimited is very thankful. I have two more series two read and whatever updates happen in between.

Crying and happy over here!

Didn't notice that this was the last book of the series and I'm sad I we won't get to go on adventures with Emma anymore. But this was a very good book and I absolutely loved how all the characters came out to help! This is definitely a series that will be read multiple times!! When you find an author that's made many series and you buy them all you know that you've found a winner!!

Parents, Grandparents and heas friends

Emma and Daniel struggle as all new parents do. But Calix is a two- faced grandparent and Emma knows he is trouble
The witches near and far have come to Spellbound for a competition of Spells, but a murder and efforts to kidnap Diana play havoc with Emma.
The final, sadly in this series.
It has been a fabulous journey and Thank You Annabel for your talent as a No. 1 writter of all things magical.

If it had to end,...

That was a good ending. I suppose we don't want the author getting bored. Better to end than get stale. I look forward to seeing guest appearances in other books. I'd like to know more about Emma's mother. I'd really love to see that map of Spellbound she mentioned!

Spellbound Ever After series

I enjoyed all of the books in this series and the series before it. I enjoyed the characters and all of the different paranormal beings that were in the town. There were some easily overlooked typos. Should be checked and corrected. Thoroughly enjoyed it all.

Least favorite of the series

I am sad it's over since they've been fun, mindless reads. But this was my least favorite. The Callix plotline just didn't sit well with me. It was too forced. He never seemed villainous to me until the final showdown. Still it was nice to see Emma's found family come together once again for the greater good.

I'll miss Agnes the most

this series was ok, liked the characters but the way it was written sometimes irritated me. it was a bit too over the top, a bit too mushy and preachy. the author was obviously trying to get across positive messages of behaviour but it was too in your dace for me.
much preferred her other series - fury

Amazing

I really enjoyed this series. Daniel and Diane and Emma make a great family. The cat. Vampire and owl all add to the family dynamic.
I wish the series could continue. Hopefully we will see the crew in other stories.

Perfect ending to a series!

The Spellbound Ever After series was my introduction to Annabel Chase. Since the first book, I was hooked on a new author.

This series has made me laugh, cry and terrified for my favorite characters. They are…family!

A fitting conclusion

I admit I had a love hate relationship with this series, in part because I've loved the setting and mysteries, but the main character annoyed me. That said, she did grow a little and I thought it was wrapped up well

Daddy issues.

Emma is up to her eyeballs between the national spell competitions, a new murder to solve, and dear old Daddy. Calix is up to something, and Emma knows it won't turn out well for her family.

What a great finale

I will miss reading this series. All the characters are like our family and friends. We are invested in their lives. This is a final murder mystery while some family issues emerge and need addressing. At the end it all wraps up nicely.

It’s so hard to say goodbye

Wow! I can’t believe we’re finished with Spellbound. What a ride. What characters, locations, stories that I’ll go back to and of course the love story that is Emma and Daniel’s. I can’t wait to see what Annabel does next.
