Red’s not cut out for love. Despite yearning for a happy ending of his own, the fox shifter knows he’s not worth the effort. No man will want someone with such a shady history and a laundry list of past mistakes.
Especially when he’s hiding a deep secret.
But Red’s not a whiner. He’s content with being the beloved babysitter for his pack—until a thunderstorm drops a black bird out of the sky and changes his life forever.
A raven who won't fall in love.
Alpha Orpheus is a raven shifter and a free spirit who hates being tied down. He’s also a bad boy—or so he likes to think, even though the sight of babies secretly makes his heart melt.
When Orpheus injures his wing, he makes a crash landing into the arms of his savior, a stunning and wily fox shifter named Red. But Orpheus never stays in one place for long and he intends to leave as soon as he’s healed.
So why is it impossible to stop thinking about his foxy angel?
Fated: Fox and the Raven is a 45,000 word book with plenty of fluffy and steamy scenes, mpreg, low angst, no cliffhangers and a HEA as usual! It is the fifth book in the Pack of Brothers series and best read in order.
Hawke is a M/M author who loves the world of MPREG and shifters. In his spare time he enjoys hiking with his dog, hanging out with his boyfriend, and playing video games.
This is my new favorite of the series. I just absolutely ADORED Red and Orpheus's story. This whole series is over the top incredible and I can't wait till March for the next installment! Red has been a favorite of mine from the begining and getting to see him get his HEA was beyond fabulous!
I've been looking forward to Red's story and his mysterious past / secret as I had Sage's hilarious tale. I had thought that Remington's story was poignant, amusing but the Fox's was even more so. As much as he loved being the pack's babysitter it was a poor substitute to having a family of his own that included a loving mate and children. But that dream was so far out of reach he settled for contentment in being the best Uncle the various shifter babies could imagine. And it made his heart less heavy to see how much the young ones wanted to be with him and genuinely missed him when the Fox was gone.
His rocky start with the pack that he made up on several different occasions earning the gratitude, and forgiveness, respect, and welcome to the pack. An angry loner the pack realigned his world. Still he never felt he'd truly fit in other than being the Babysitting Bachelor Uncle. While he was happy each time a pack member found their fated mate, he was also jealous, and displayed it in annoying manners. Yet he was always there to relieve the parents when they needed to hunt, rest, or time alone together. He was their Go to Guy.
No one seemed to appreciate his prankish mature. So playing with the kids gave him a chance to allow his mischievous Foxy nature out. As he sometimes was full of hidden melancholy continued on with his life and place in the pack, he never imagined he'd save a black angel falling from heaven.
A lightening blinded, rain soaked, wind buffeted Raven with injured wings. It turns out they save each other. It was really enlightening learning about Raven lore, I down to what a group of them was referred to as a treachery.
Talk about an apropos name. Orpheus seems all wrong for Red. Each had different future goals, the closeness, protectiveness, strong mutual attraction that grew as Red nursed Orpheus back to health only boded well for one outcome - HEA
Your fated mate fell from the sky. Will your secret be safe?
I love the Pack of Brothers series! I have been waiting for this book. It does not disappoint. My old friends welcomed me back into their lives. This story follows fox Red & his fated mate Orpheus, a raven, who literally fell from the sky into Red's arms. Each man harbors a secret. They must learn to trust, in each other, and in the rest of this diverse pack. I won't repeat the blurb. Just let me say this book has it all: adorable kids, fated mates galore, a touch of danger, secrets revealed, and a love that is as intense as it is inevitable. This is a continuation of the saga. Please, read the previous books in order. You will be glad you did. I can't wait for the next story. Ooh, you are gonna love this book! This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.
Honestly this book was to sweet for words.. y'all are in for a delightful Surprise. Fox and the raven was full of wit and love, mischievous kids and delightful love that was more radiant than the sun. Hawke has a habit of dragging you in. Red is one of my favorite Pack of brothers characters and so is Orpheus. I can wait to read the next book. If you are a fan of mpreg I recommend reading some Hawke books.
Good story. A bit more complex. It seems the author is trying to up the complexity with each installment.
Red is an ....omega? alpha? beta? fox shifter who doesn't think they'll ever find an accepting mate with their big secret. Orpheus is an alpha raven shifter flying away from a bad situation. A calamity brings them together and its up to Orpheus to prove to Red he can handle whatever secret Red is hiding. It was a smidge angsty, for about 2.2 seconds. I liked the storyline. My biggest beef was a huge continuity error. There is a human doctor (Nero and Nishiki's mother) who is referred to in all the books up until now as Dr. Pine. In this book, she's Dr. Pyne. Small error, yes. Unfortunately one that I find really annoying and distracting each time I read it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I love that Red finally got his happily ever after, and that they couldn’t be more perfect for each other, which is understandable as they’re fated mates. I love how sweet Red is towards Orpheus while he’s helping care for him as he recovers from his fall from the sky & crash landing into Red during a freak storm. Man, Orpheus’s reaction to the silver cutlery completely cracked me up and it was really cute reading about Quinn’s reaction to them as well and that he definitely takes after his Raven daddy in that regard. I loved how Orpheus could tell when Red identified as an Alpha or as an Omega, even with his very limited sense of smell he could still smell the difference in Red’s scents. I also loved how that Orpheus had never been with another alpha before he just accepts that it’s the way that Red was born and runs with it, which shows the type of person he is. I’d recommend this book, series & author to everyone
I loved this one so much. I have wanted to know the mystery surrounding Red since the first book. I was so happy at what was revealed. It was a wonderful surprise for sure.
Red meets Orpheus during a storm saving him. It brings crash landing to a new meaning. Red takes care of him as he heals from happened. They get to know each other and after they revealed things from their past come together.
There is something really special about Red all I say is Hawke did an excellent job in how they can have a baby. They take a vacation since Red has earned one all the babysitting he does.
Like the other books they have confrontation with Orpheus ex before going back home. I loved that they went on their own for a little before going back. Red found out what I knew would be true in that the pack accepts him as he is.
I can't wait to read the next book in the series to see the last couple of the series. Red is my second favorite shifter in the series with Len being first. The rest pack and the kids are there as well. So wonderful seeing them grow up.
Gah! It is so sweet! I'm absolutely in love with this story of Red, the fox shifter, finding his fated mate in Orpheus, the raven shifter. Red is one of my favorite characters in this series and I'm so happy he finds his HEA. I'm not going to spoil the secret he's been keeping but it totally threw me for a loop and I love it. This series has been about acceptance and overcoming preconceived biases and ideas, as much as it's been great shifter adventures, and I absolutely love that. Orpheus is a very engaging character and I love the bird shifter angle. I haven't read a lot of shifter books that feature birds, so it's very refreshing. I love how our little pack keeps growing and I look forward to seeing where the future takes them. The believe the companion series features the kids growing up and finding their fated mates. I'm so ready! 😁
This series is a great, easy read when you want to be entertained with some shifter romance without big plots or angst. I live that the babysitter in the pack, Red finally finds his own fated mate and that Orpheus doesn't mind when he hears what Red has hidden.
I love the way that Red's fated mate (Orpheus) literally fell out of the sky and landed on him due to a storm while Orpheus was flying (raven shifter). They were the perfect match and I just adore the way they were included into the pack as family. This was sweet and full of love along with some humor. Overall, this was a very beautiful romance.
I loved that we finally got Red's story as even though he had quite a rocky start with the pax he had quickly become one of my favorite side characters to read about in the books. The dialogue was hilarious with the mutual sass and I do really like when their animal habits are emphasized as cute quirks that carry over even in their human form.
I was looking forward to finding out about Red, our mysterious fox. This whole series was amazing and I loved Reds story, I really hope this series gets continued somehow, maybe with more people joining the pack or the mate stories of all their kids, I just hope it doesn't have to end!
A wonderful read full of love and acceptance, and shows that it doesn't take blood to be a part of a true family. I loved Rex and Orpheus as a couple. They truly belonged together.
I've enjoyed all the books in the Pack of Brothers series but this one was my favorite. The mystery that is Red is finally solved. I love all the feels in this one and the importance if found family.
I actually liked this book a lot. I loved Red and Orpheus. Their stories were great. I just felt like I wanted more conflict. Maybe I’m just a drama queen but it fell a little flat for me. Also I wasn’t a fan of reds secret.
Waskinda hope quinn could fly with his daddy yet still very beautiful. And brilliant Love each character in the unquestionably love in loyalty, for each other.
Love this book just like the others,I always like Red from all the other books and he finally finds his fated mate in a raven Opheus and they had their baby Quinn
