13-YEAR-OLD ELLE AND 28-YEAR-OLD FINN ARE THE ONLY SURVIVORS when their yacht is attacked, leaving them to spend four years marooned on an Eastern Pacific island. Thirst and hunger are minor obstacles compared to the emotional toll of loneliness and despair. Age, personality and background point to their enormous differences in discovering survival is no reality show. Give up and die or get on with life. Even if living follows none of the rules of before…even if it means facing a line in the sand he refuses to cross.
David and Cheryl Monahan live in a small town in the White Mountains of northern New Hampshire and a remote fishing village on the western tip of the island of Curaçao.
There is no way to give a definition of this story without it sounding wrong. It is an adventure of surprising turns, intricate characters, and authentically described environments. It is a book that kept me up late!! The ending was brief, and came too soon, but it works. I completely enjoyed this tale. Thank you!!
This was an amazing story. I typically don’t read books like this type but I’m so glad I did. It was well written and full of adventure and love. It wasn’t what I was expecting but again it was so good. It’s definitely one of the best books I’ve read.
