After obtaining her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Professional Writing from Barry University, K. A. wrote entertainment stories for South Florida Times (one of two Black Community print publications in South Florida) as a freelance writer for over a decade. In addition, she has written 10 feature-length screenplays and wrote and produced two short films; one short film, The Trumpet, won awards during the 2014 Miami 48 Hour Film Project. At the moment, she is working on an urban fantasy book series, titled Order of the Slayers, with twelve books and two novellas completed; and counting.
Adding to her professional portfolio, K. A. Grant has obtained a Master of Science Degree in Marketing from Florida International University. While pursuing her degree, she started a blog about marketing tips and reviews of TV, movies, and books, as well as further developed the K. A. Grant brand.
