The men I must fall in love with to save the word... wait, what?
Imagine my excitement when I find out there's more to my dreary life and that I'm powerful beyond my wildest belief. In fact, I'm apparently the key to to kicking Venom's ass. But then I learn that I'll only be able to reach my full potential once I fall in love with all my protectors. Basically, my destiny is that I get to end up with three sizzling hot guys. It almost to good to be true, right?
Here's the problem:
-Zane is a sweetheart but has a bit of an addiction problem. -Daniel is hot as sin but also a self-obsessed narcissist. -Blaze hates the world and everyone in it. And let's not even talk about my issues.
In a nutshell, my powers are dependent on four broken people that should probably never be together. Yeah, I don't see that happening...
* Princess Taken is a medium burn paranormal RH romance, with a careful selection of angst, witty comebacks, and steamy build ups within the harem. Warning: This book contains MM scenes, and references to abuse and addiction, which may trigger some readers. Heat levels also increase over the course of the series. *
Tyler Parker is a Romance author with a wild imagination. When he's not writing, he's probably binging on a series or gone out for a jog. Also, he's a Scorpio —Enough said :)
I had been anticipating this book for awhile, reading Tyler's thoughts about and hopes for the story and watching his tikt toks. I was really hoping I'd like it because from what I'd read and seen I liked Tyler. The book did not disappoint, great characters, great build up, and very nicely written. I swore long and loud when I reached the end because I wanted more and I have to wait. Congrats Tyler Parker on a wonderful first novel
Wow! I was really really looking forward to reading this book, especially a RH written by a man. Just as I thought it was fantastic! From start to finish, Tyler Parker’s debut novel was enticing, well written, captivating, edge of the seat making you want to know more and well it’s just a great read.
We have Zoe our FMC, she’s had a rough life and is still in her own personal hell but throughout the book we see her strength, determination and that the bad people unfortunately in her life haven’t got the best of her. She’s destined for greatness. Then we meet Zane loyal, fierce, sexy protector. Zane is not without his own demons and heartbreak struggling to get through this thing called life. Next we have Daniel, rich, arrogant, heartbroken Daniel. Although seemingly perfect on the outside not all is as it seems. Last but not least we have Blaze, Blaze who again has his own story and broken past. All a little broken you can’t help but feel and love them all.
Each character has been through their own ordeals and have lived to see another day but it is enough for what’s to come? You’ll have to read it to know! I tried to take my time reading it but devoured it. I can’t wait for the second book and the author should be incredibly proud of this 10 ⭐️ book!!!!
“If we all sleep together, we connect in the most intimate way possible. After that, Zoe should be able to access her powers. She kicks Venom’s arse and we can all go our separate ways.”
Oh man! I was not expecting how amazing this book is. The plot and world building are 🙌🏻🙌🏻 A+.
Zoe is seemingly a mere human. Sure a few weird things have happened in her life but who hasn’t had a few unexplainable scenarios happen growing up? One night and literally everything is changed. Her pet dog is now a guy. A hot guy. Who is telling her she needs to go with him ASAP. He’s a shifter. A hot shifter.
Venom has waited for 22 years to get revenge on Zoe and she has no idea what that hell is gong on. She’s being told she’s got these protectors and she needs to leave her home. Now.
Zane. Daniel. Blaze. And Zoe. Not just a fae, but also the future Queen of the Paranormal.
We have these protectors that are linked to Zoe to escape Venom till here powers come into full force. Meaning, she needs to have sex with all her protectors. Next subplot- There’s… history between these protectors. And it’s raw and angsty and spicey. This series is an RH paranormal romance with hilarious characters, hot sex scenes, hotter men, and fantastic world buildup.I’m looking forward to the next book!
I was so excited to read a paranormal RH written by a man and I was definitely not disappointed. From the first page meeting Zoe I was hooked, she's such a great MC. Fierce , brave and bada** despite her broken parts.
The guys! Jesus the guys! Zane, Daniel and Blaze * fans self* The scene in the bedroom with them all was perfection, gave us enough without spoiling us yet left us wanting more. The guys are all broken too but those broken pieces can be fixed with other broken pieces. They'll all come together like the pieces of a jigsaw, I'm sure.
Willow...hmm what is the deal with Willow and Venom?!?!! I NEED to know. There's a connection there that I'm sure everyone that reads can't wait to discover.
This book will make you laugh, cry and sigh in relief but have you craving more. I for one cannot wait for the second book!
As a debut novel I think the author has done a fantastic job with the characters, description and storyline. He's going to do amazing things, watch this space.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Let me tell you! I am generally not one to read fantasy but decided this would be a great way to start my journey. Especially given that this is Tyler’s first book!
I absolutely looooved it. I couldn’t put it down... seeing my favorite trope (RH) from the perspective of a male author definitely makes a big difference. I also really enjoyed the relatable characters, and their very human problems.
The plot was well written, definitely kept my attention throughout the entirety of the book, it had me questioning everyone at any given point. Also, although the plot surrounded a mission the FMC and her guys had to do, I still managed to laugh all throughout the book with their witty remarks and the references to other things.
I’m excited for the second book!! To see where their journey goes and how the dynamic between the group changes!!
What a brilliant beginning, to what will undoubtedly continue to be an exciting adventure for all of Tyler Parker’s readers!
Meeting Zoe, and her protectors, along with the evil cast of characters, bent on destroying the world, we find snippets of compassion, peeks of fear, and moments of the possibility of love.
This is a paranormal reverse harem story, but it takes its time, working through each characters’ misgivings, needs, wants, and true desires. There is action and agony. There are emotions running amuck, as each of these beautifully created people start to, possibly, find their way.
I am so very excited to now include Tyler in my ‘Must Read’ category!! Well Done!
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
I found Tyler on TikTok and I’m glad I did. Princess Taken has a very interesting story line and I like that the guys have flaws and are not all the “perfect” hero. I also like that it’s not insta-love. The action starts from the very beginning and keeps the reader wanting more, I know I did. I can’t wait to see how they all come together and get out of the situation they are in. Lots of drama, steam, and angst.
This is Tyler Parker's debut story. I really liked this! Loved the character development and world building. There were some parts where it was a bit slow, but definitely made up in action, angst, and steam. I also would love to know more about the other guys. I'm totally loving Blaze!!
I received an ARC and voluntarily gave my honest opinion and review
I had really high hopes for this book. According to everyone’s reviews this book was supposed to be the new be-all end-all in PRN and RH genres. People heard this author was writing this series and stalked his twitter just to be closer to this potential amazing piece of literary work…
Unfortunately, I found none of the above to be true. I greatly disliked this book…and I had such high hopes! It’s a sad day in book fiction when my least hated male main character is the pathetic drug addict.
I don’t like any of these characters. If I was Zoe, the FMC, I would leave San Francisco to rot. I would leave those men in the dirt. Screw the quest to save the world. Screw those guys. Screw Willow and her shady ‘help’. I would get the eff out of dodge.
Let me introduce to our male main characters. Zane is a wolf shifter, chosen to be Zoe’s protector at a young age. When his twin sister died Zane lost all will to live and turned into a drug addict. When he’s sober he’s pretty nice, unfortunately he’s also a drug addict so he can’t be relied upon to protect anyone. He’s off getting high when Zoe needs help most.
Next we meet Daniel. Daniel is a demon, an incubus. He appears to be a self absorbed narcissist. He is bitter towards Zoe and treats her like trash. He treats all women like trash, in fact. His actions feel a whole lot like rape when he’s forcing women to his will with his sex mojo. The only people he’s ever cared about are his foster parents and Zane. He and Zane used to be in love, but when Zane turned to drugs their love fell apart. Now Daniel wants to use Zoe as a weapon to hurt Zane.
Finally, we have Blaze. Blaze had the potential to be a really awesome hero, unfortunately he hates everyone…most especially the other protectors and Zoe. Blaze, like the rest of the guys, was chosen for Zoe from a young age. He knew he was supposed to grow up to love her, but he didn’t care. He met a woman and fell in love with her and they had a kid together. Then tragedy strikes and Blaze’s fire elemental power kills his beloved Rosalie. Now he’s a single dad who hates his fate even more than he did before. He hates Zoe because this is all her fault. He hates them all for forcing him to leave his kid for this ‘save the world’ mission. He is downright cruel to Zoe, just like the other guys.
Zoe has been abused, mistreated, raped, and used as like a slave her entire life. She finally finds out she’s a Fae princess, she has three protectors whom she’s supposed to love, and are supposed to love her back. And what happens? They turn out to be abusive assholes too. At this point I’d say screw the world, you guys can burn! I don’t want to read this. These men hate her and treat her like crap but they still manipulate her and treat her like a useless blow up doll. It hurts to read this. The sex wasn’t hot, it was cruel and manipulative.
There is literally nothing to redeem this book. Watching a woman being abused and treated like a slut by cruel men is not my idea of a good time.
I can already tell what you're probably thinking, "A man writing a reverse harem novel?! *gasps* The HORROR!"
Calm down Karen and quit clutching your pearls.
Now that that is settled let's get into the nitty gritty. This is Tyler Parker's debut novel and it is fantastic! The world building is great and the characters are easy to connect with. Zoe has constantly struggled and you see the balance between her being vulnerable but also snarky and standing her ground. Zane, oh Zane, he's the broken one that is battling his own demons and who you can't help but love. Daniel is the epitome of the arrogant, rich ass that you love to hate. Then there is Blaze, who has the broody alphahole personality down. The sexual tension is through the roof. There were twists and turns that I didn't see coming. I'm not so patiently waiting for book two. I can wait to see how the characters grow and come into their own.
Princess Taken was Tyler Parker’s debut novel and I have soooo been looking forward to getting my hands on it and let me tell you he did not disappoint it was great. To top it off this is a RH story written by a man that’s right and it was done to perfection. Zoe is our strong FMC who hasn’t had it easy in her life and yet she doesn’t put up with anyone’s crap and has a heart of gold. She is feisty, mouthy and not afraid to give as good as she gets and I am here for it. Then we have Zane, Daniel and Blaze all of them are alpha a-holes and honestly are all broken boys that seriously need some love in their lives. Each of these characters has so much to their stories that I really think we are barely scratching the service and I can’t wait until we dive deeper. This was a slow burn that I absolutely love. I like watching each relationship go through all the motions with Zoe. Fantastic debut and I cant wait for the next book
If you are looking for a PNR book filled with wit, action, and steam, then this is your book! There was so much hype surrounding this new author and his book, and it did not disappoint! The characters are fabulously raw, and the storyline is intriguing. The villains are deliciously evil, and the good guys are not always so good. ;) The mystery of how Zoe and her fellas fit together drives readers crazy as she faces both her foes and her so-called mates. Nothing comes easy for Zoe, especially not relationships, and she scrambles to find her power in order to save herself and those she starts to care for. The author has a knack for one liners, and my favorite references Tom Cruise and the famous couch. Read it yourself to find out!
Omg! Where to start. First off. I don't normally read or like PNR. But when I read the blurb, excerpts provided via tic tok and author's reader group I could not resist. The premise is amazing. I will not give spoilers however the characters are relateble real world issues, plots twists, and on point and fire sexy scenes!I mean a demon, fae and wolf shifter together?? Put this in your TBR or read it next but please do indulge in this book. You will not be disappointed!!!
I loved this book start to finish. Each guy has their own personalities, each and every time you think you've got them pegged they grow and expand what you thought they were! It is a true medium burn, but the scenes are very well written and leaves you craving more !! This book was so well written, no editing errors. For his debut book colored me impressed and so excited to see what else he comes up with.
When I first heard of Tyler his book was straight on my tbr simply because I've never heard of an RH from a male author and wanted to see how it was going to read. The book honestly did not disappoint, the storyline was fantastic, the characters were great and loved the whole relationship between everyone. I loved the fact that it went straight into the action but it also went back to the past. Honestly was gutted when it ended, I cannot wait to read the next book!
Tyler nailed it! Such a good book. I dont think I've ever read a book where the characters have such tortured backstories and have to come together to resolve them all, each in their own way. Zoe is a great fmc. I love the sarcasm and wit Tyler expresses through these characters right throughout the book. Looking forward to book two.
Was so excited to receive this ARC and was not disappointed! Well written, descriptive, and characters that I'm dying to learn more about! Can't wait to see what else happens with Zoe and her drool worthy protectors!🤤😍👍
I was pleasantly surprised with this book! We meet Zoe, as she currently lives with her foster family who doesn’t care for her. Soon, the whole world comes crashing down on her, and her life as she knows it is changed. She soon meets Zane, then Daniel, and Blaze. She finds out they are to protect her, but they also have to fall in love with her, and she with them, in order to survive this threat. However, the stress on these people isn’t allowing their personalities to open up to her, or make her open up to them. It’s all sketchy at best.
I really enjoyed the realism of the situation. They weren’t instantly falling in love; the struggle was real. The individual relationships were complex, and the interaction was tense at times. The last conflict with the villain is absolutely page-turning, however I feel the ending was slightly anticlimactic. I definitely plan on reading the next book though!
Thoroughly enjoyable read. There's a lot to be said about this book regarding its unique storyline and the wit Tyler weaves through the story. The similies and comparisons make it easy to envision his descriptions and keep you laughing as you go. There are definitely some darker themes, as we expect from a book dealing with an evil villain and a rag-tag bunch who have to team up to defeat the bad guy(s). I loved the depth of the characters. They each have their own shortcomings, as do we all, and I see amazing potential for their story arcs. I can't wait to see what webs Tyler weaves as we continue through the series and watch as they overcome their failings and grow together as a unit. The adversaries are gripping, the heroes, broken and yet loveable. By the end of the book, I was sending predictions to poor Tyler because I needed to know more. Looking forward to book two!
Princess Taken was simply amazing. I love how much character development went into the story, that you get a glimpse into each characters past, why they became the people they are at the time of the book and what goes on behind the stoic facades they have.
It has a great plot that definitely keeps you on your toes. As soon as you start thinking you know what's going to happen, it takes a sharp turn and piques your interest all over again.
Tyler did a phenomenal job with this book and I'm excited to continue reading the series! It's not often you get a male author who writes an RH book so well, which makes it all the more impressive. Princess Taken is definitely worth reading!
I came across this author and having never read a PNR RH by a guy I thought why not.
I could NOT put this book down! I loved it! I love the characters and how they are developing through out the book. These issues they are having to work out through seperately is a nice changed but hoping the FMC gets involved with that more in the second book.
I've never read a RH or even an adult romance book by a male author before. It's not that I have anything against male authors, I just didn't know they existed. I originally found Tyler on TikTok and I'm so glad I did. I joined his Facebook group and was given the chance to read his debut novel, Princess Taken as an advanced copy. Please note: I was given a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Ahh, where to start with Princess Taken. You're kind of just thrown into the plot. But that wasn't a bad thing as it normally could have been. The author makes it a point to do flashbacks and give a clear explanation of what is happening and why it's happening, even if we're not explicitly there when it happened.
The FMC, Zoe, had 3 very different relationships with each of the guys - which I really liked. Sometimes authors give them all of the same types of relationship with one another and it just doesn't read well. This book did fantastic at character development.
Zane - the broken shifter addict Daniel - the playboy incubi demon out for revenge Blaze - a fire elemental with a traumatic romantic past
The M/M scenes were really good. Even though it was more of a revenge-type relationship, the emotional connection was still there. It was my first time reading actual M/M scenes and I was pleasantly surprised with how well it flowed with the plotline and group romance.
Overall, it was a great read and I cannot wait to read book two, which I hope is soon since I finished this book in like 5 hours!
I want to start by saying; Tyler, you are wonderful. As a new author in the RH community, you have wowed us with your talent. The storyline keeps you glued to the book and when you have to stop for the night, you get this desperate feeling to start where you left off when you wake up the next morning. It been a while since a book has caught my attention like your did. I was feeling everything Zoe felt, from the fear to the happiness and the heartbreak. The guys are wonderful as well. They are so unique and troubled that you can't help but be drawn to them. Zane and his drug abuse story makes you love him from the start. Daniel, although at times, insufferable, makes you feel attracted to him. He has that charisma that can rub you the right way and the wrong way at the same time. I really can't explain him without giving to much information. And finally, Blaze. Blaze can be tough and sometimes even cold but that's just his way of protecting himself. This bunch of broken people have to find a way to grow their relationship, when most of the time can't stand each other, to defeat their enemy. I could go on and on, but will just be going in circles trying not to give spoilers for those who haven't read it yet. So if you are looking for something unpredictable, action filled and steam, this is your book.
I am fairly certain this is the first book published by the author and it was great. This was also the first time I’ve read a RH/romance written by a male author so to be honest, I was a little leery but he did an amazing job. There wasn’t any moments where I said to myself “oop, this was definitely written by a guy”. The story itself was interesting and full of drama.
The character development was amazing. They are all incredibly broken characters who all bring plenty of baggage into this new dynamic between the 4 of them. It’s angsty, emotionally charge, and drama filled when all of them have to be in each other’s presence. I think the author did a great job of setting up the series to allow these 4 characters to truly grow together and overcome their own personal demons as one unit. As of right now, some of them can barely stand to be in the other’s presence but I can see that changing as the series progresses.
Tyler, you did an amazing job for your debut book. You have created an intricate world with a fascinating plot and even more fascinating and complex characters. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters and how they came together. I can't wait to see what will happen next for them and what Zoe will decide on next.
Zoe's life is about to change forever, starting when Zane bursts into her home, telling her they need to leave as her life is in danger. To then finding out she isn't actually human. Oh and then there are her 3 hot protectors that she is supposed to fall in love with to harness her full powers. There is actually a pretty intricate storyline running through this book and a lot of scope for character growth. There are also some dark and interesting back stories to the 3 protectors that I'm looking forward to finding more about. Zane, a werewolf is struggling with addiction and him and Daniel, a demon, have a sexually and damaged intimate past. Blaze is dealing with the fallout of a devastating loss. This is this authors first book and what a good job. Its full of action, sexual heat and some really funny one liners and inner monologue. Zoe, our main female character is likeable, funny and is on her way to being totally badass. All in all a rollicking good read and I can't wait for book 2.
This book grabs you and keeps pulling you deeper into the rabbit hole of heart ache and magic. Zoe lives with a foster family and suffers daily through some deep physical and emotional trauma. (Side note this books delves into some darker themes, trigger warning) Her world gets thrown into chaos when an event causes a bright light to flash out of her and knock back a man who is trying to rape her. Next thing she knows she’s learning about fae, shifters, elementals and demons! I really cannot praise Tyler enough, writing reverse harem as a man he knocked it out of the park! The guys are downright drool worthy and had me swooning! The story has angst, heat, romance, danger, and magic around every turn! Highly recommend! 9/10
