Redeeming the Darkness

Rate this book
Ivy Murphy knew everyone thought she was a wild child. She was okay with that.

All she ever wanted was an adventure, and when she moved in with her grandparents, three hours away from home, she thought she was taking her first step toward it.

She had no idea her adventure wouldn't begin until two years later when a man named Zane walked into her life.

She never saw the proposal coming. Agree to a five-year marriage of convenience for one-million dollars? She would be crazy not to accept. Right?

I wish the writing process was as fast as reading because every time I finish one of Whitney Morgan’s books, I want more. Redeeming the Darkness is my favorite book so far because I can’t get enough of Ivy and Zane’s relationship. I love a book that has funny characters and a storyline that keeps you guessing and this one does just that. I definitely recommend this book to everyone and can’t wait for more!

I loved this one! I think I was able to read it in about 4 hours. I didn't realize this was book 2 until I was ready to start reading it but I loved that I could still read it without a problem. Whitney gives enough detail about the first book so you know what happened and the second one isn't confusing. I definitely wish I could read the first one now though, just because of the interesting storyline.
Ivy and Zane have never met until he comes into the mechanic shop she's working in and starts causing problems. The next day he asks her for a marriage of convenience and she actually agrees even though they have only known each other 24 hours. Ivy is the second child out of 7 and wanted some adventure so she moved three hours to live with/near her Aunt and Uncle. Zane is an actor that was in a big movie until he started doing drugs and getting into trouble. Zane was put into rehab and got cleaned up but now he can't get a role. Nobody wants him so his agent comes up with a plan that involves him getting a wife. They think that if he got married and settled down then he could get a role and start acting again. I have read a few marriage of convenience stories before but I still loved this one! It was an interesting storyline; it had suspense and mystery to it. It even had a backstory in the main story that was explained later on. It kept me turning the page and wanting to find out more about these two. Turns out that Zane still has problems he has to deal with and puts Ivy to the test. I loved that she had a friend in Sandro and she stuck by Zane even though she barely knew him. I loved that eventually Ivy's family loves Zane and everyone gets along. I was really happy to read how this book ended even though I wasn't sure what to expect. I am definitely curious as to what happens in the rest of this series. I'm glad I took a chance on a new author and received an early copy for my honest review.

I absolutely loved this book. Ivy is a little spitfire and Zane is a moody guy. Somehow, they work together perfectly.

Ivy is working in her grandparents' shop dreaming about adventure when a scary, huge guy storms in. What begins with a loose gas cap and a flat tire leads to Zane's insane proposal. If Ivy marries him for five years she gets a million dollars. It would be a win-win situation. Ivy gets the adventure she is so desperately seeking and Zane's image improves, saving his acting career. Ivy agrees and thus starts the whirlwind "romance" of their lives.

This book is a fun and quick read. Fate brings together an unlikely couple, Ivy and Zane, in a quirky romance that starts with a flat tire. To be honest, I kept wishing there was more to the book. It was like glaze on a cake - a sweet story touching the surface - but I wanted it to be more filled out with greater character depth, and a more fluid timeline. It was like reading a fun 30 minute tv show that would have been much better as a full 2 hour movie.

This book is excellent. It is a book that you will want to read all in one sitting. You will fall in love with the 2 main characters, Ivy and Zane and you will love the storyline. This book has romance, mystery, suspense and humor all wrapped into one book. Put this on you must read list.

A very easy book to binge through the week. Ivy’s want for freedom was contagious and I loved the character the author portrayed her as. A cute Tom boy that was fearless.
