Dark Overlord Trilogy Dark Overlord New Horizon ★ Dark Overlord’s Wife ★Dark Overlord’s Clan
Dark Overlord New Horizon Jacki has two talents that set her apart from the rest of the human race. She has unpredictable glimpses of other people’s futures, and she is immune to mind manipulation. Unfortunately, both talents are pretty useless for finding a job other than the one she had in the government’s paranormal division. It seemed like a sweet deal, until she found out that the director planned on producing super babies by compelling the recruits into pairing up. When an opportunity to escape the program presented itself, she took it, only to find out that humans are not at the top of the food chain. Immortals are real, and at the very top of the hierarchy is Kalugal, the most powerful, arrogant, and sexiest male she has ever met. With one look, he sets her blood on fire, but Jacki is not a fool. A man like him will never think of her as anything more than a tasty snack, while she will never settle for anything less than his heart.
Dark Overlord’s Wife Jacki is still clinging to her all-or-nothing policy, but Kalugal is chipping away at her resistance. Perhaps it’s time to ease up on her convictions. A little less than all is still much better than nothing, and a couple of decades with a demigod is probably worth more than a lifetime with a mere mortal.
Dark Overlord’s Clan As Jacki and Kalugal prepare to celebrate their union, Kian takes every precaution to safeguard his people. Except, Kalugal and his men are not his only potential adversaries, and compulsion is not the only power he should fear.
Jacki is now a "guest" in Kalugal's house. And Kalugal is feeling stirrings of all kinds.
I liked Jacki, even her rule about no sex without commitment which wasn't based in religion and fear of punishment, but, rather fear of being used, objectified. She's intimidated by Kalugal because he is a demigod. Kalugal is intimidated by her because he cares what she thinks. He very much values her intelligent opinion along with her pretty face.
Even though Kalugal is full of himself, I liked him. He lived the kind of life I would plan if I had an unlimited amount of years. I would love to go digging in the dirt for stories from the past.
What I didn't like: When Jin and Kian where talking about the Odus, Kian said their creator made them middle=aged so the creator wouldn't be attracted to them? WTF?
Otherwise, good book and set in Covid times.
I did not expect Edna's story next, but that should be interesting.
Loved these 3 books was more impressive and interesting
These 3 books were by far the best , I love how its finally coming together. I've given all the books a 5 star even though I got bored with some of the reading .Why because they have my interest for the most part and can't wait for the final ending .All the books have been a great read . They do keep you interested with all all the different characters.I like the intrigue parts the best .Once you start you'll not quit reading . Well played by the Arthur!
Jackie was left in Kalugal's complex as a temporary hostage to ensure his tether had been removed but can she resist the offer he makes her to stay when he finds out she is a dormant? Kalugal and Kian warily become acquainted as he speaks to Areana for the first time in decades and meets Lokan again. The paranormal group Jin was rescued from is still tracking them unbeknownst to them.
Sassy Jackie and Kalagul hit it off straight away because Kalagul final met his match wen he fell for immune Jackie. She felt like she's won the lottery because he makes her feel, worthy, treasured, valued & she's never had that before.
Kian and Kalagul come to an understanding of sorts but Kian still doesn't trust the "Doomer" especially when his mother gets involved.
I have read the series from Book One (Dark Stranger) through book 46! This is the best paranormal romance series I have ever read. Even better than the Shade series by B. Forrest! I read them all since the beginning of the summer till Oct 27 2021
It’s a good book and have read from book one but you know who is going to get with who. I think kaluga should of got with areana would of spiced things up
The 'Dark Overlord' trilogy unravels the story of Kalugal and Jacki. As they learn about each other and their abilities, the attraction between them grows. Each harbors concerns over the direction their relationship may head; which comes first intimacy or love? And more important, will either come at all? Other relationships to consider are those between Kalugal and his mother; and he and Lokan. His yet-to-be-formed alliance with Kian also looms. This trilogy navigates new relationships between the clan and former doomers while each placing the safety of their own in the highest regard. Moving forward, will each trust the other enough to form long lasting relationships and thus grow the immortal race?
On page 200, a location error is made. Kalugal states "also, I found it in a dig in Egypt, not Iraq." This implies that Iraq should have been the location. Egypt is correct. There has otherwise been no mention of Iraq.
