They hunted me, caught me, and claimed me. Now they're going to share me.
Barbarians. Just thinking about the shameful things these beasts would do with a human girl like me should have been enough to keep me out of the forest on Hunting Night, but I went anyway.
The moment they caught my scent, my fate was sealed.
I tried to escape, but all my efforts earned me was a spanking that left my cheeks blushing, my bottom burning, and the evidence of my body's helpless surrender glistening on my bare thighs.
Whether I like it or not, I'm theirs now.
Theirs to take. Theirs to keep. Theirs to mark and claim in every way.
Theirs forever.
Publisher's Note: Hunted by the Barbarians includes spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.
If you’re after a headstrong heroine, and 2 alpha barbarians, this is the book. Well written, plenty of action, full on testosterone fuelled males, and a female that can swear worst than a sailor 🤫 I did enjoy the read.
I enjoyed the story and the characters. The female lead was strong and caring, she didn’t simply roll over and give in to her situation, but neither did she rebel thoughtlessly. (On the contrary, her rebellions were well planned and reasoned!) I felt the male leads weren’t quite as well developed in terms of their characters and motivations, but then there were two of them plus a full cast of likeable supporting actors - only so much can take place in one book, I guess. I would also have liked a bit more information about the world, how they came to be in the situation they were in - for example at one point in the story I was thinking it was an alien or fantasy realm, then the heroine was thinking about “Stockholm Syndrome” - so is this a sort of dystopian futuristic..? Left me with a few questions I hope the author will address in future books, because I really hope this isn’t the end of this world and series. I truly did enjoy the story and characters and hope to see more. Well written, I think, especially for what appears to be a first book (though it didn’t read that way).
This was a simply wonderful, captivating read full of action I loved this book from the very beginning it was a wonderful read that had the most amazing characters and the actual storyline was beyond belief, it is filled with action and the characters are so well written that you actually feel as though you in turn begin to know each and every single one of them and the way in which they are important in Alta’s life and her love and her heart.
She lived with six soldiers since she was barely a teenager and they are like six big brother who have cared for her and protected her, taught her to look after herself and to fight and she has in turn helped nurse them, cared for them and as she is the huntress, she also keeps them fed as well.
When her one brother is poisoned and she has to go out into her beloved forest to find the only plant that can possibly provide a cure and whilst she is doing this, she is suddenly caught between two Barbarians who know that she is their Anama, they had been searching for her for a great deal of years and now they have found her cannot allow her to escape them.
As the story continues to open up and the characters grow the threat to Alta’s life becomes even more apparent and her Barbarians and her family of soldiers are the only one that can help her or so she believes, then she realises that the Barbarian tribe have all come to her assistance and they agree that they will do whatever is needed to keep their people safe, they will not allow the humans to infiltrate their village.
This is a wonderful build up and the climax is something that will simply hold your attention from start to the very last work in this wonderful story. I cannot wait to read future books by this prolific author who never fails to surprise me with new and very different titles, characters and storylines.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
I feel that Hunted by the Barbarians' reviews will run the spectrum for interpretations and character analysis due to the author's adeptness at drawing the reader into her book's world and how we, the reader emerge at its end. The Barbarians Clan are a mixture of man and beast (not what you are used to) fiercely loyal to one another and have had to fight ferocious battles to protect their way of life. Every year, for one night, each pair of brothers participate in a hunt, not for food, but for the one female fated to be theirs, raiding the surrounding villages in hopes of catching her scent. Come sunrise, many of these Barbarians return to their clan empty-handed, frustrated and saddened to go another year alone except for this one night, when Clan chiefs Domal and Fiach finally catch their intended's scent. Thinking the hunt will be over quickly, Domal and Fiach are baffled, proud and ticked that their fated, Alta, makes them chase their tales! I thoroughly enjoyed learning about Alta, how her childhood and current living arrangement with the soldiers moulded her fierceness, drive, need for independence and loyalties. I laughed at the household's shenanigans, their dedication or lack thereof to their assigned tasks within this makeshift family, and how proud, protective and respective these soldiers were of Alta, guarding and smothering her as brothers do.
My first read from the author and i like it! I tought this book gonna be all smuth since theres the warning of spanking. But Alta is no where near submissive damsel in distress. She's tough, fierce, smart but also reckless at times. I like her mean spirit doesnt waver even after the twin barbarians got her. Domal and Fiach are Barbarians. The infamous race to the north that ruled conquered territory. A race of nonhumans, they supposedly were half-breed monsters, cursed to share a soul with beasts they utilized with brutal force in battle. They were all male, and it was whispered around the villages that none of their children had been born female for hundreds of years. Because of this, they had to take women from the village to reproduce. And not just any other female. They are their soulmate. Their Anama.
This book isnt all smut, pages after pages of steamy. There's conflict between the villagers and the Barbarians, the Na Daoine clan. There's attemp murder on Alta. There's prejudice and evil people who are more evil than the barbarians they accused of. There's light angst, comedy banters, family, friendship, passion and love in this book.
For my first read from the author, i like it.

Compelling, well written, marvelously done! Highly recommend!
This story just grabs you, pulls you in, and never lets go. I enjoyed it thoroughly for many reasons. The plot is interesting, engaging, and very unpredictable, the characters are full of life, layers, and hidden depths, and the world building is incredible. Even though I appreciate every aspect of this book, what I love most of all is Alta. Her strength, dignity, cunning, and loyalty are unmatched. She is so relatable and I love how she gives as good as she gets. She finds love in the most unlikely place. And there is so much to love about the males as well. I find the concept of the “Hunt” to be a strange tradition but overall one much more effective than mindless dalliances with anyone willing (or unwilling). I think this story touches on some very important concepts especially fear, ignorance, hatred, and corruption. We learn that many humans have a lot to learn about civility and basic human decency. I could go on but I’ll say I loved it and look forward to reading more from this author.
This book is fantastic, the barbarian twin brothers are sexy as hell and have a way of talking that will get any girls panties wet. From the moment they find Al in the forest and they open their mouths you'll understand. Al is a fantastic heroine who's had a bad start to life, but it got better after she found her "brothers ". This is the first time a book i was reading offered me the ending that I loved, so many books just end with nothing, and your left going, well ok then , but I was pleasantly surprised with this book. Im sure you'll love Al's "brothers" the humour from each of them is hilarious and the love they have for Al is amazing. Thanks so much to the author for a brilliant brilliant read
This was an amazing story! I really enjoyed the characters and the emotions between the characters. I thought it was really well done on how the author developed Atla's character and how she grew throughout the book. The twin barbarians that find Atla and find that she is their soulmate, know that they love her immediately, but she does not. It takes time for her to figure herself out and what she truly wants from herself and her twin barbarian soulmates. Atla is a very independent, strong woman and it really amazed me how the author was able to accomplish growth in her character. This is definitely a must read!

This was just painful to get through, and required constant breaks every time the general lack of how biology works made itself known. For a start, the Barbarians themselves should either have died out long ago, or, because they're all male, the inclusion of another humanoid species should have diluted their blood to the point that they should be able to pass as whichever group they steal mates from. Additionally, size incompability should be taken into account, and it's honestly a miracle that any of the mothers survive, if the scale of their children is bigger, because they aren't adapted to handle two larger than average fetuses. Anyway, yes. Hurt my brain and just glad it's over. There's other stuff but that's a long-winded tangent all on its own.
I loved this story far more than I expected. I have read barbarian type romances a few times before and they were fairly short and with little content. This was a longer story with well developed characters, especially the women, who were fierce and put up with nothing. Alta was strong and very protective of her brothers and anyone she felt was nice to her or helped her. She was a warrior and a hunter who lived life as it came. When it came to two barbarians kidnapping her, she escaped and then gave them no end of grief. Wonderful plot with great world building.

Really not bad, it was entertaining, I read it in practically one seating.
MILD SPOILERS AHEAD
The spice is good, I was expecting an epilogue though with maybe a result to the spice.
There's spanking as the author advises but it's not cringy or abusive or anything. Even though she's kidnapped, her males don't try to squash her spirit and I appreciated that. Even though they made mistakes, they're trying to ensure she keeps her skills and spirit.
Her males are supporting and loving.
Didn't feel like stockholm syndrome to me first because they're mates so I suppose the female feels like it and then because she's attracted to them before they even attempt to take her.
I liked the story. The mfc was strong, nut not in the obnoxious stupid way some “strong heroines are written. But that was it, it was just a good story. This book was steamy and descriptive, just so those who might not enjoy that know. I have one pet peeve. Please have the characters bathe every once in awhile. It’s one thing that will snap me out of the story. I’m not talking your out in the woods and there is no where to bath, I’m talking your home and still can’t even say she ran into the wash room. I wonder if it’s just me or are there others out there that get snapped out of the story over thing like that.
The opening chapters of this book are highly misleading. They set it up to be an interesting fantasy romance with a strong willed heroine. Past though chapters though it's just run if the mill smut. I dnf'd at 45%, because the book just goes downhill after the first few chapters. It's just disobedient girl disobeys, guy's spank her, then sex. With a lackluster plot in between. Seriously what exactly is the point? The only positive I would mention is that the actual writing itself and sentence structure is good. Which is rare for a pure smut novel.
This is a good book to read, it has action, suspense, good strong characters and sexual scenes with 2 very dominant males. Alta gets taken and claimed by Fiach and Domal, two very large dominant barbarians, but she gives them the run around and a bit of attitude, which only leads to a spanking. These two males are very possessive and will protect and do anything for the one they claim as theirs. Well written book.

This was a entertaining story to read; what woman wouldn't want a bunch of alpha men at your beck and call?? Alta is a real woman in that time; she brings home the bacon and one of the men fries it up in the pan! I enjoyed her character and her alpha men were story worthy as well. This all in all was a good book; entertaining, suspenseful and of course with a slightly different HEA to keep the suspense going! An worthwhile read for any day.

Loved the book it was great, the story was written well and the characters were interesting. Alta is tough, fierce, smart but also reckless when she goes into the forest at a certain time. She went into the forest and was caught by the twin barbarians, Domal and Fiach are Barbarians, they are supposedly nonhumans, half-breed monsters, cursed to share a soul with beasts they utilized with brutal force in battle. they have to take women from the village to reproduce with only their soulmate.

Absolutely loved it. Fantastic story and definitely loved the different types of men “creature beasts” they were compared to a lot of other stories. Would love a 2nd book perhaps with their brothers finding a love and getting updates in between of the main characters.
Such a great story. The storyline was fantastic, and the characters were hot. This has so much with the action, suspense, alpha males, spankings, domination, and plenty of heat. I hope there is more like this from this author. Great job! I received an ARC copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
- Badass FMC huntress - Secondary characters that I cared about, complete with 6 big burly brothers for the FMC - Highlander-esque adventuring in the woods - Growly, protective warrior shifter twins as the MMCs - Logical rebellions and critical thought
I was in a rut and this kicked me right out of it. I hope there are more books in this world!!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved the characters and storyline. Alta and her soldiers, Domal, Fiach and their brothers and cousins made me lol. Gemma and Bart and Thea, Maccus and Caderyn were great support for Alta. Lots of 🔥🔥🔥. On to my next Viking Story. 🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜
This book was amazing! Loved the character building and the relations between FMC and MMCs. If you love spice and dominant males who would do anything for their female this is the book for you. If you don't love spice with your story you might not love it but it made it so much better. 5 stars😍
It was good, liked the premise, foul mouthed heroine, dominant but not alphahole hereos and I dont know if this would continue on but a series could be fun in this world with a little more plot.
Well written, this fantasy world had similarities to present Earth with twists. The Barbarians are more than what they seem and Alta a strong and intelligent female living life her own way. I appreciated the evolution of the characters as the story unfolded.
I loved this story. Crazy villagers, danger, action and a love story that keeps you smiling. The characters were intense and so wonderfully well written. I wouldn't change a thing about it. Don't know if there is a sequel, but I certainly hope there is.
I liked the characters and the dynamic between them. I didn't really feel like the main conflict was believable but it wasn't annoying and it's a fictional book so its ok. Good job to the author and keep pushing them out!
This was okay. It's likely a lot of world-building. A series might be better than this first one. There was a level of repetitiveness to the story that go boring after a while. It was a breath of fresh air to have a woman who stayed strong after finding her mates.
I so enjoyed this book!!! It kept my attention from start to finish! I hope we get to read stories featuring the side characters too, bc I loved them as well. I will definitely be reading more from this author!
The characters are well defined and actually having a plot is great too. The barbarian brothers don’t give her much of a chance, but they prove their love in every way possible.
