Difficult times calls for the best of friends in this brand-new novel about starting again, from Amazon #1 bestselling author Hazel Taylor. Jenna, Cara, and Kimmy have been the best of friends since the day they all decided to pledge a sorority together at the University of Miami, more than 20 years ago. They’ve been through it all over the years, a deceased husband, divorce, death in the family, and many other trying times. All were difficult, but none prepared them for what was about to come. The three best friends and mothers were now facing their children leaving the house. They were about to officially become empty nesters. With nothing but work and weekend book clubs to look forward to, the women are excited when an invitation arrives in the mail, informing them of an upcoming anniversary event for their sorority chapter in Miami, Florida. With nothing to lose, the three friends embark on a weekend getaway to ease their emotional hearts, reconnect with old friends, and get a new sense of hope. However, a weekend of reminiscing and reconnecting with old friends may prove more damaging than healing. Secrets are revealed, past betrayals are brought to light, and new romantic prospects enter the picture. With all their children now gone and nothing but time, Jenna, Cara, and Kimmy are now at a crossroads in life and the journey is only beginning. Book 4 of 6
Book 4 was full of characters getting upset with each other, which I enjoyed because it was so surprising. I never thought Jenna, Cara, and Kimmy would get into a fight over their children. I liked that they were quickly able to dismiss their fight and move on. The sorority's dinner was very interesting which I really enjoyed reading. I wonder what will happen in book 5? I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
What is they say? Never fall out over children! Well that’s just what Cara, Kimmy and Jenna did, but, being such good friends for a long time, the fall, out didn’t last long.
The thing I love about this author is she keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what happens next, and this books ending is no exception.
Things start going awry! There was a falling out with the kids in Haiti. Kimmy, Jenna, and Cara got in an argument about whose child was at fault. That didn't last too long, since they had been real good friends for so long. Plans were back on to prove that Denise gave false information about Cara to get her kicked out of the sorority back in college. There was a surprise turn of events.
Hazel Taylor has become the queen of tease but that is okay since I grew up with Saturday morning seriels. A few more secrets are reveals, stress is put on the friendships and now we wait. Hurry up, Book 5.
This is the next installment as Kara, Kimmy and Jenna finally have a real moment like good friends do. I really enjoyed this story as they figure out how to get hold of their kids. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the 4th book in the series about Cara, Kimmy and Jenna. This time Jenna is telling her part of the story. It is definitely important to start with book 1. These are novellas that you can read in an evening.
