Cupid in a Bottle
Climbing the corporate ladder in a pair of fabulous stilettos isn’t easy, not even for a witch.
Anastasia Winters is on a mission to become the supernatural world’s go-to event coordinator. With a high-profile wedding in the final stretch, she needs everything to go just right. Her next promotion depends on it.
But when the groom gets dosed with an experimental potion and professes his undying love for the maid of honor, Anastasia’s shot at the wedding-planner big leagues goes up in flames.
Can she get the wedding back on track, or is she destined to be demoted back to wrangling baby dragons at birthday parties and filling the guest list for the Tooth Fairy’s Halloween bash?
Newly Wed and Slightly Dead
When a vampire marries a human, things are bound to get messy…
Couture and Curses
When sparks and curses fly, more than just high-profile weddings are thrown into danger.
Wedding Bells and Deadly Spells
A drop of poison is all it takes to bring the biggest wedding of the season to its knees.
This is such a wonderfully written and enjoyable collection of novellas. Each story follows Anastasia Winters, wedding planner extraordinaire, as she tries to wrangle brides down the aisle, while solving mysteries along the way. Each novella is unique but they do follow the same characters so it’s great to have this box set collection so you can just go from one book to the next.
Danielle Garrett's Touch of Magic Mystery Series Cupid in a Bottle This is the novella introduction to Anna's story. It's a fun little opening to give you a great taste of what story you're in for. I also love seeing Harmony as she's starting out trying to get her feet back under her, this story made me laugh more than I probably should have! Newly Wed and Slightly Dead One of the best things about Garrett's books is that she incorporates so many fantastical elements: vampires, shifters, witches, wizards, ghosts, you name it. However, there's so many real world elements included too that it feels actually possible! To me, these are smaller cozy novels that gave me the same sensation as a teenager reading Harry Potter with a fantastical world that felt like it could be real because so much was also associated with our world. This story is a vampire marrying a human girl but of course mommy dearest doesn't approve of her son not marrying his own kind so demands he change his bride. Anna is trying to keep the peace as the wedding planner, but things go awry at the rehearsal dinner and she's racing the clock to find the culprit so she also doesn't lose her job. Couture and Curses Anna has the worst luck because she's back in the thick of things simply because she was in the wrong place at the wrong time, a time her boss demanded and now holds against her. She's determined to keep this job of her dreams while working to solve the case, even though her co-worker and boss do everything they can to pressure her and try to get her to quit. Wedding Bells and Deadly Spells As if it's not bad enough that this bride and groom have been a nightmare, someone has sabotaged the wedding! However, it's so satisfying to have Anna put her boss in her place and show her what she's made of by the end of the story. Danielle's narrator is amazing! I love how I can tell which character so easily, no matter which series I'm listening to. It's skillfully written and narrated
Danielle Garrett is a new-to-me author. I haven’t read her other cosy mystery series set in this magical world. However, my lack of knowledge didn’t diminish my enjoyment of these stories.
The characters Danielle created appealed to me. Our protagonist, Anastasia – Ana to her friends – exhibited personality traits that I like. She’s intelligent, resilient, self-reliant and has oodles of gumption. The supporting cast in this story was a diverse group, showcasing lots of different characteristics. The only reason that this collection didn’t rate higher, was that I felt our protagonist didn’t actively solve the cases. I want my amateur sleuths to be on a par with an Agatha Christie creation. Sadly, I wasn’t impressed with the sleuthing skills in these cosies – clues and culprits landed easily in Ana’s lap, she was just in the right place at the right time!
I’ve only listened to one other audiobook narrated by Amanda Ronconi. I really enjoyed the pace at which Amanda read these stories. The emotions and inflections she used for the different scenes felt natural and brought them to life. The voices she created for the various characters were different enough that I was never confused during the numerous conversations.
Witchy Weddings is a good audiobook. I enjoyed putting my buds in and listening to the stories. Each one had a nice mix of humour, mystery, and a sprinkling of romance. Plus, there are no perilous cliffhangers and every crime is solved by the end of each story! WoopWoop!
This story is adjacent to the Beechwood Harbor series starring witchy wonder Holly Bolt. It takes place in the Seattle Haven and is the story of two witch sisters - both of whom appear in the Beechwood Harbor series. This is Anastasia and Harmony's story.
I struggled to get into the stories, but once I did, they were great! It's nice to learn more about Anastasia and see where Harmony came from.
Witchy good stories - Anastasia somehow finds herself involved in multiple murder capers while trying to give her clients their happiest day ever. From the MOG to the groom to the dressmaker, murder and mischief are afoot. With a witch for a boss and a dragon for a teammate (not literally but they are awful), she's trying to hold on to her job and find a little time for romance. A great collection of stories and listening to them was a pleasure.
A light-hearted and quick cozy magical mystery series surrounding a wedding planner. Anastasia enjoys the finer things in life, from designer furniture, to clothes, to shoes, to food. It was fun to read about her over-the-top wedding planner preparations, along with the murder mysteries that were surrounding them. The trilogy was completed with a nice, satisfying ending to the overall story arc, and I'm sure we'll see more of Anastasia and her sister Harmony in the main Beechwood Harbor series.
You will enjoy the adventure of Anastasia as she navigates her way through weddings, her sister, back-stabbers. You will get lost in each story until you are done. You will enjoy the ride each story tells. I highly recommend reading this, you won't regret it. I didn't want to go into details as I don't want to ruin it for anyone.
I'd already listened to one book in the series, and then I saw the entire collection on Audible Plus, so I decided to try the rest.
The entire series features Anastasia and her wedding planning career. It's a trio (with a prequel short story) of paranormal fun, and I enjoyed it. The characters were funny, and the stories were adorable, with the cozy mystery trope thrown in.
Absolutely loved this set! So glad to have the first 3 in the series together so I could just keep reading. This series has it all - paranormal, romance, mystery, laughter and love!! The dynamic of the characters all fliw together perfectly. I can't wait to contine this series!!
Was looking for quick reads, enjoyed another one of her series I stumbled across(Beechwood Manor) and thought I’d try this Witch Wedding series. Definitely did not disappoint.
Super fun and light reads, looking forward to discovering more about Anastasia and Caleb’s love story.
4.5 Fun series. Now I have a better idea of how I should have read this series. The book that Harper joined Holly was the end of this series. Still fun and nice to see from another character. Also now I know who the SPA agent is in Beechwood Harbor!

A fun series of paranormal mystery, the culprit is never the immediately obvious one which makes for a nice read. It's the first set I've read by this author and I will probably try some of the other series.
