About the author

Born in the North of England at the tail end of the baby boom, Jeanette was brought up by her mum, stepdad, grandparents and the local library. She stayed in North West England for her degrees (in environment and pollution related subjects) before spending a brief stint in London. She came back to Lancashire as the Berlin Wall fell, bringing with her a Yorkshireman who she later married.
She's spent the last thirty years in a variety of jobs and volunteer roles, and is the author of the Ransomed Hearts series about a family of shapeshifters in Lancashire.

I enjoyed reading this book, which is the first in a series. Two young musicians arrive at a small village in Lancashire called Bardale. Whilst settling into village life and getting to know the local girls, the lads are on a secret mission relating to their past. Just when life couldn't be more perfect, a terrible incident forces the lads to leave everything they have worked for behind and come face to face with a gang of werewolves, intent on their destruction. The story ends with one heck of a cliffhanger.

Placeholder for review. They are handing out loads of bookmarks for this series at a few of my local libraries and when I asked, they are expecting to get this series, all of it, in soon. So obviously when they do, your boy is going to read it because what else do I do with my life and time? If I'm not reading, I'm working or sleeping. Hopefully its as cool as the bookmarks look, I got one with what appears to be some dude shredding a guitar up with @ Rel's Werewolves for the facebook page wrote on it. So. BRB and will update when we get the books in and I've read them :3

Great read

I have read some of Jeanette Greave's short stories and have enjoyed those although I don't normally like short stories. I enjoyed this book, it is a unique take on the werewolf theme and I''m looking forward to Book 2. It wasn't obvious where the story was going to go and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens to not just the main character but to others as well.

Great first book in this exciting new series, ready for the second book already.

Werewolves are back and prowling the streets and farms of Lancashire. With lashings of Dandelion and Burdock pop, chips with scraps and open mic nights this book left me longing for the ideallic Northern England of old.

No spoilers here but you are in for a great read with just the right amount of spice to make it a real page turner. Enjoy as I did!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.
Jeanette Greaves really handles point of view well and we get very close to the protagonist and even the antagonist in some scenes. It is easy to empathise with the characters.
Greaves has created a whole world with a sound theology and is very disciplined in controlling this world.
Add to all of that a fabulous story that ends in a satisfying way but also leaves us hungry for more.
I can’t wait to read the next two volumes.

I don't normally write a review, however I just wanted to say I bought this in a charity shop for 50p and didnt expect much as hadn't heard anything about it, I bought as I'm from Lancashire and its set there. It gripped me from the start and I am curious to know how the story ends so I shall continue to read as ive noticed its on kindle unlimited. Well worth a read!

A good read!

Strong characters, and an engaging storyline. I will need to continue to find out what happens to Anthony. I’m reading in Cancún and it was perfect for sitting in the sun and sipping a Miami Vice.

An enjoyable bit of escapism

Fantastic storyline, easy to read throughly enjoyed this book. Also having met Jeanette at a craft fayre and my wife buying me the series as a present I can't wait to start the second book
