Highlander’s Bride is the seventh book in Mariah Stone’s epic Called by a Highlander time-travel romance series. If you like dramatic historical romances, marriages of convenience, and dark alpha heroes, you’ll swoon over this fated-for-love romance!
When time travel romance writer Mariah Stone isn't busy writing strong modern women falling back through time into the arms of hot Vikings, Highlanders, and pirates, she chases after her toddler and spends romantic nights on North Sea with her husband. Mariah speaks six languages, loves Outlander, sushi and Thai food, and runs a local writer's group. Subscribe to Mariah's newsletter for a free time travel book today!
The story as a whole was very intriguing and interesting. I loved how the MFC'S diabetes's journey influenced the story and seemed as a realistic view. But, the romance was not very conveniencing (?) Also, I would love to have a glimpse of the medieval scottish culture. However, there were so many scenes similar to outlander, including some puns, which made it "weird".
Once again, Mariah Stone has written a time travel romance that will go straight to your heart, this one more than the other books she's written in this series. Imagine, it would be bad enough being thrown 700 years into the past but add being diabetic, needing insulin, into the mix and you'd be facing death for sure!!
Bryanna has always dreamed of being an independent woman, going on adventures and doing what she really wants but being diabetic and with a controlling mother, she's always had to be "careful". When she finds herself travelling back in time to the Highlands in the 1700's, she finally feels free but then reality sets in, knowing she will need insulin to survive! Raghnall's heart is encased in ice and carries the weight of darkness in his soul and the last thing he expects is to find himself married to a lass from the future and one that has the "sugar sickness". She is the light to his darkness and although their love for each other is strong, he needs to let her go back to her time so that she can survive. My heart ached so much for them!!!
Very well written and it was also lovely to see characters from the past books in this series make an appearance.

Highlander's Bride Called by a Highlander #7 Mariah Stone ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Bryanna Fitzpatrick is a diabetic. She goes to Scotland in 2021 with her Mother and sister. She feels light headed so looking for a place to take care of her diabetic needs she stumbles through Eilean Donan Castle. But when she wanders into an underground cavern, a Highland faerie sends her back in time to the Middle Ages.
Scotland, 1310. Highlander Raghnall Mackenzie swore to raise raise his dying betrothed's 4 year old son when she died. But now years later he must marry another to reclaim his lands and fulfill his promise. Until his would be bride becomes a no show leaving him sitting on top of the very wedding dress he had made for her.
Bryanna thinks she's in a pleasant dream one where she is not sick and a totally different person, so after coming across Raghnall sitting in front of the church she agrees to marry Raghnall. When she realizes that it isn't a dream and she's really in Medieval Scotland, she tries to escape, but there is no way that Raghnall is going to let his beautiful new bride run off. Bryanna doesn't exactly enjoy being manhandled with his rough ways but, his tortured soul and beautiful music speak to her in a special way. She only has a few doses of insulin left, and she is literally out of options. No matter what, her life depends on returning back to 2021. But can she leave the husband who's captured her heart and soul, even if that means staying costs her, her very life.
Mariah Stone is absolutely fabulous. This is my favorite book of the series that I've read so far. I was pulled into this book hook line and sinker and there was absolutely no way I was coming up for air until it was finished. This story pulled at my heart strings in a way I haven't felt them pulled in a while. I could totally relate to Bryanna. She was a strong character who could hold her own. Raghnall was the strong, wounded type who you couldn't help but like. All in all this was a fantastic time travel novel and I enjoyed it immensely.
Raghnall is a man who has always felt like he was out of place everywhere he went. He felt like he was never truly wanted by his own clan. Bryanna is a music teacher who always felt over protective from her family due to her health.
To get the land back that was supposed to go to Raghnall and to hopefully get back into his families good grace's he decides the best way to prove he has changed is to get married. After Bryanna married Raghnall she has a very serious health scare that almost breaks Raghnall.

Mariah has written another hit! This story is an amazing time travel love story with wonderful real life like characters. I love the story line with Sineag, a faerie, sending Bryanna traveling back to the early 1300's via the Pictish stone in Eilean Donan Castle. Initially she thinks she is in a dream and therefore she is happily going with the dream including marrying Raghnall Mackenzie. To gain lands that were rightfully his, Raghnall must marry. He has a wedding planned for the day Bryanna travels back to his time, but his bride to be is a no show and he spots Bryanna and asks her to marry him. His older brother Angus witnesses the marriage and then lets Raghnall take over his lands with the new wife. Raghnall has sworn to never give his heart to another woman after having lost his first love when she was murdered by an enemy of Raghnall's. But Raghnall realizes that something isn't right with the beautiful Bryanna and learns she has the sugar sickness (diabetes). He is slowly falling in love with the feisty beautiful time traveler and realizes that she has to go back to her time to live, especially once she suddenly is out of insulin pens! This story has so much going on in it and it totally draws you in and keeps you flipping the pages until you have finished it. There is a ton of action and many adventures that the Hero and heroine go through. Their story is so wonderful and heartwarming. A true delight to the reader!
Another wild adventure back to the Highlands. I love that we finally are getting to see Ragnall’s story and hear more about his troubles and painful past. I absolutely love his heroine Bryanna, she is also one that is going on a self discover journey through out this book. One that lived a semi sheltered life due to her illness an overprotective parents and now finally gets to live and experience life the way that she is supposed to. Ragnall and Bryanna are meant to be together they were just born in the wrong time, I love seeing her break through his wall that he is built around his heart and open up and live in the world again. Getting to see her learn new things an experience life in Middle Ages that she would never get to do is amazing and freeing I love that we get to go on that journey with her. I love the entire epic time traveling journey , all the ups and downs, epic battle scenes. They end up together as they should! Thanks for the adventures back to the Highlands, you make me feel like I am back there all over again!! So excited that David is finally getting a book next! That is going to be good!
Mariah Stone has written another excellent Scottish Highlander time travel story, this is the seventh book in her series about members of the Mackenzie family. This is Raghnall story, if you read the previous books I'm sure you will remember him the youngest brother of the Laird. Raghnall has had a lot of sorrow in his life and lost a woman he thought he loved very much, because of a attack on her farm by reivers. After many years he has returned to his clan to be with his family and claim land owed to him. In the future 2021 Bryanna Fitzpatrick is touring Eilean Donan castle with her mother and sister, Bryanna is feeling weak and needs to check her blood sugar as she is a diabetic, and finds herself in the year1306. Without revealing to much of the story I felt each book got better and better with each story, I would recommend to start with the first book to get a good understanding about the whole family! I really liked the involvement of his family and could feel the love they had for him and worried about his welfare. The description of the battle scenes were written so well,I felt I could see and feel them happening, this book has so much to recommend to people to read it. Has drama, love scenes, battle scenes and time travel and a fairy woman who is involved in each book! I was given this book as a ARC for my honest opinion and I honestly felt this book was so good I gave it a 5 star rating, Thanks so much Mariah Stone for letting me read this wonderful book.
This Story was so Amazing, Touching, Heartwarming, Emotionally Connecting, I can’t think if enough adjectives to begin to tell you how I feel. Two people who were so meant to be together . Raghnall MacKenzie and Byranna Fitzpatrick were from two different centuries. Though that didn’t change whom they really were. They each brought out something they both needed and pulled on a strength and an unselfish love. This Story will shake you emotional, warm you, put tears in your eyes, and believe in true love and and a soulmate can happen.
This is a great time travel story that goes back to medieval days. I loved Bryanna who fell thru time and Raghnall who was on the other side to catch her. The story is well written, very entertaining and holds your attention from the beginning to the end. I also loved the ending which was a little unique from other time travel stories that I have read. This is an excellent read and one that I would highly recommend. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and are voluntarily leaving a review.
Mariah never fails to deliver a great story! This was very interesting with a twist. I loved the characters, the story line, action and suspense. This story flowed well with the previous stories.
This is a straight to your heart time travel romance. Bryanna is a diabetic who is reliant on insulin, her problem is she has been whisked back to the 1700”s where there is no insulin. So what is she to do? Here she meets Raghnall who is very hard and cold with a certain darkness that seems to follow him around. They are polar opposites in personality but they also end up married. Will Bryanna be able to thaw out her frosty husband and will she be able to get the insulin she needs? This keeps you on your toes. Enjoyed the read

Highlander’s Bride is the seventh book in Mariah Stone’s Called by a Highlander time-travel romance series. Although it has characters and mentions events from previous books it can be read as a stand alone story.
Raghnall Mackenzie still mourns the loss of the woman he was about to ask to marry him when she died in his arms. He promises to look after her son
Bryanna Fitzpatrick is a diabetic. When on holiday in Scotland with her sister and mother she tries to find a quiet place to check her blood sugar level and ends up in a castle in 1310.
This is just the start of the story. Will she learn to love medieval Scotland and Raghnall? Can she live without her insulin? Will she return to the future and leave him behind?
This is a well written good story which I really enjoyed reading.
Another winner! Love this series. Bryanna is a music teacher and on vacation with her mother and sister, seeing the sights in Scotland. Bryanna family is overprotective of Bryanna due to the fact she is a diabetic. Always checking her glucose, always having insulin on hand. Feeling unwell Bryanna is looking for a restroom and ends up in a storage room. Sitting on a rock so to be able to test herself, that faerie we all love appears. Raghnall MacKenzie has come home to claim his inheritance, but in order to do so he must marry per his brother. So he waits for his bride to show at the church with his family all around, but no bride appears. The MacKenzie head back to the castle and Raghnall continues to wait. Bryanna wakes up thinking she is dreaming she is in the 13th century. When she see the sad man by the church she asks what is wrong and when Raghnall says he is in need of a bride to get his lands. She offers herself, why not it’s a dream and he is handsome. As always, wonderful characters and old favorites are included. Storyline grabs you and has you turning pages. Plus there are a few laughs thrown in. Can’t wait to read David story.

Raghnall Mackenzie, is the youngest son of the Mackenzie's lads. His father the Laird kicked him out when he was just a boy and he has made his way doing whatever he could just to stay alive. He has lost much and feels dead in his soul for all the hurt he has caused. The only person he thought he could love and have a life with was killed by an enemy of his. Now he is doing all he can for her son, Seoc. His brother the new Laird has ordered him to marry if he wants his own keep. Once again things do not work out for him, with all there to watch the wedding the bride doesn't show up. Then like a miracle a very strange dressed beautiful woman walks straight to him. The way she talks and dresses remind him of others he has seen but most important is she agrees to marry him!!! Bryanna Fitzpatrick is diabetic and has been since she was sixteen. She feels like her life ended then as her mother is always watching her to make sure she does not get hurt, or ill. She has visions she has told no one about. One is she with a tall very handsome man dressed from the past. She doesn't understand her dreams. While she and her family are visiting Eilean Donan Castle, she feels faint looks for a place to test her blood and take her insulin alone. What she finds is a tunnel and she meet up with one of my favorite persons in all the books. Faerie Sineag. After listening and talking with her she wants and adventure and does as Sineag tells her. Her dream or vision she is in a beautiful place where everyone is happy and busy. She meets a very handsome man, who asks her to marry him! What a dream, he is tall, strong and makes her feel safe. Her dream is so real, and she is happy till she learns everything she is seeing and feeling is really happening!! She is really in 1310 Scotland. Wow what an intriguing story, with so much going on. Both Bryanna and Raghnall have so many secrets. What will Bryanna do in the past with very little insulin ? Will Raghnall's believe her think her a witch? There is so much emotion, feeling, love and sadness in this book. Also, a lot of faith and learning and giving. You really need to get a copy and see how much this couple will learn, and give for each other. It is a great story. I couldn't put it down and read it straight thru. I received and ARC and want to thank the author this is my honest opinion and am freely giving it.
Bryanna is a young woman with an issue that can be handled in the 21st century. But when she feels sick in Eilean Donan castle while visiting with her family she thought she was trying to find a restroom and she ended up down in the lowest part of the castle where she meets Signae who is there to help launch her into an unfamiliar place in time where she meets and marries Sir Ragnall brother to the Lord of Eilean Donan she is told. When Bryanna wakes up and walks out of the storage room shocking the men working there but not feeling frightened. Sir Ragnall is still waiting on his bride seems the one he had chosen was not to be found but he believed and he continued to sit in front of the Abbey waiting to honor his promise to Morag and her son. But He knows that the woman walking toward him in strange clothing is the one. When he asks Bryanna to wed him, she does without hesitation. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters are intriguing. Drama, mystery, suspense, danger, violence, and love. HEA. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Highlander’s The story of present day Bryanna and a medieval highlander Raghnall how she was his salvation. But when she wanders into an underground cavern, a Highland faerie sends her back in time to the Middle Ages. When she realises that it’s not a dream and she is really in the Middle Ages she tries to get back to where the stone with the handprint. She has a diabetic turn and Raghnall now believes she is from another time. They eventually realise that they love each other but they both realise that She can’t stay in the Middle Ages because of her diabetes. Raghnall Carries her back to the stone when she falls into a coma and take her back to her time. Could not put it down. Can’t wait for the next book. Would recommend.
Bryanna Fitzpatrick was a music teacher and still lived at home. She was a diabetic and needed her insulin if she had a problem. The three of them were in the Scottish Highlands sightseeing. But she had an attack and needed to check her blood. She went looking for a quiet place, instead, she ended up in 1306.
Raghnall Mackenzie as a child he had been beaten and abused by his father. He was thrown out when he was fourteen and had to survive on his own, alone. He ended up with Reivers for a few years and then joined "the Bruce" to fight for freedom. Now he is older and wants to get the land promised to him.
This is a fast-moving story and an easy read. The characters are wonderful and it was so nice to see some of the older characters from past stories. It did break my heart a couple of times, it was sad to see the pain and suffering they went through. I would definitely recommend this excellent book.

I borrowed this unique time travel romance on kindle unlimited. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading each book in this romantic travel series. I think this one is one of my favorites. Bryanna is a music teacher with diabetes and an overprotective mother in present time. When she falls through time she finds not only her one true love, she also falls in love with his son. Plus she discovers the freedom to do the things she’d never been allowed to do. But there is no way she can bring that love to that life to fruition. Without her insulin, she’ll die. The dangers she must face not only because of the turbulent times but her lack of insulin, will keep you on the edge of your seat. I could not put it down! I’m glad to volunteer this review.
Bryanna Fitzpatrick's life takes a different turn when she goes through time to the man who will be the love of her life or her destruction. Raghnall MacKenzie made a promise to the woman he loved to give her son a home. After her death, he spent four years to make that promise come true. He needs a wife, but the woman he was to marry never shows up. Bryanna thinks it is a happy dream when she accepts Raghnalls proposal, but in reality she becomes his wife. With diabetes she cannot stay in the 1300s or she will die. Will he pass through time to stay in the future for love? Once I started reading, events begin to unfold that made it impossible not to finish the book.

Will love win out? I love time travel and this one had a unique twist to it. I enjoyed that because of her illness their relationship had a time limit on it. If she stays it could be the end, and what happens to Raghnall when he finally learns to love again? This kept me engaged while I needed to find the answers. This is a wonderful time travel and the characters and their interaction was perfect. This story was told in just the right way. Great story worth reading.

There are very few authors that can write a HR I will read. Ms. Stone is in that handful. I have read every book in this series. They get better with each couple. This one touched a bit close to home. (My husband is diabetic) Raghnall and Bryanna had a lot of obstacles to overcome. Love, however, will conquer all. These two will find their HEA. You will have to read it, and enjoy the journey. You can thank me later. I was lucky enough to receive an early copy. This is my honest, voluntary review.
Beautiful story with a couple of twists. Ragnall needs to prove to the new Laird that he is responsible, therefore, when Bryanna turns up out of the blue, he convinces her to marry him. Their time together is like a roller coaster ride, with Bryanna’s health growing more dire as time goes on. The battle scenes are heart wrenching. I loved this story. I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Another great read by Mariah Stone who once again brings strong characters in Bryanna and Raghnall and weaves an interesting time travel romance. She takes you back to the day with her detailed and descriptive writing. She brings tons of drama, action and anxiety as she takes you on a roller coaster ride with all the emotions as she delivers another terrific time travel romance. Loved it!!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
The two main characters had totally opposite childhoods. She was loved and protected while he was barely tolerated, often abused and disowned. There’s a lot of mistrust and pain that needs to be overcome before anything can happen, but before it does, danger based on revenge occurs. Tension and action will prevent you from putting this book down.
Time travel with a significant medical condition causes so many hazards! I really like both Bryanna and Raghnall and their personal stories. Watching so many pieces of the plot come together- between Bryanna and Raghnall plus the impending battle with the Ross clan made for interesting reading. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next as the hint at the end suggested.
