Robert Pollack (pseudoniem) was partner bij een groot internationaal advocatenkantoor, en als parlementair advocaat adviseerde hij de Tweede Kamer onder meer bij de vernieuwing van de Wet op de parlementaire enquête. Na bijna vijfentwintig jaar in de advocatuur, koos hij voor het schrijverschap. Daarnaast is Pollack raadsheer-plaatsvervanger bij een van de gerechtshoven. Het snijvlak van recht en politiek intrigeert hem al lang.

A book that makes you really think about what it truly means to stand strong for God and His word and what you believe. What are you willing to face -- what hardships are you willing to go through -- for the God you serve?

Definitely a hard-hitting, impactful book!

*Caution: Due to the content of the book (martyrs, violence, persecution for Christian beliefs, brief torture scene) I'd recommend this to older children (14+), and younger children with a parents discretion.

It took me a bit to get into this one (the flowery language was hard to follow) but the depictions of courage and bravery were worth it in the end! There are brief descriptions of torture and death so I would recommend for 12+
