Okay. Their last case was an unintended surprise, but now it’s time for Miranda and Parker to relax and get back to retirement.
Except Curt Holloway, Miranda’s old buddy and teammate, has other plans. When he decided to leave the Investigative Agency, Parker put Holloway in his place as acting CEO.
Now Holloway wants out.
Well, just for a week.
Or so he says.
His ex-wife needs him, he says. He has to go, he says. Looks like he might walk for good if Miranda and Parker don’t say yes. And so they do. It’s not so bad. Everything is hunky dory for a while.
Until attorney Antonio Estavez shows up and tells them a convicted felon he once defended in court has escaped from prison.
And he’s coming to kill him.
They have to find this dangerous fugitive before it’s too late.

Now that I've finished all 17 of the Miranda and Parker books, I've stopped to ask myself why I'm so enamored of this series and frustrated that I'm temporarily at the end of it. I think it's my fondness for Miranda and her sassy says that first drew me in, but I developed a fondness for the crew of cha aracters and the plot twists certainly hold my interest. I may even say that her interesting and thorough descriptions of Atlanta puts a visit on my bucket list!
Unusual and exciting! This is a chase all over Georgia for an escaped prison inmate! The deeper the investigation goes, more questions arise about the escapee's guilt or innocence! Please leave out the" teaser" ending for those of us who really, really deplore a " cliffhanger" situation! Each book should be complete in itself or the author is cheating his readers!
Always a great story with the investigation adventures of Parker snd Steel and always exciting situations they get themselves into. However, enough of the overdoing of Miranda’s over solicitous comments about Parker’s good looks, his infectious smile and the butterflies in her tummy whenever she sees him. We get it. Calm it down.
I love your writing! I read every one of the series without stopping! They were all exciting, not at all predictable and I thoroughly enjoyed them! I am sad i am done....but i know you have written others so will search for those! Thank you
Another great book in this series onMiranda and Parker Mysteries. This one about a young musician who was run over and left in a coma for several years. The man convicted of trying to kill her escapes from jail and tries to get himself exonerated from the charges. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
When you see the video you know he did it but, something isn't right!
Another great read. Being retired isn't all it's cracked up to be. Working again to help Holloway out for a week gets Miranda & Parker deep into another difficult case. Moves them all over the place trying to capture an escaped convict. Can they do it.
This was a terrific story had me at the edge of my seat did not expect the ending I have read all of kidneys books and loved them all I highly recommend this book and can not wait for her next book to come out Dorothy Schaefer
Great as usual. This series is a ten star series. I can't wait for the next book in this series. This is a book and series worth reading. You won't be let down. Great thrillers. I highly recommend this book.
Most of her books are really intriguing and suspenseful!! I have a hard time putting her books down!! I would recommend her books to anyone who loves a mystery!! I would really start with the first of The Miranda Steel book love the series!! Keep up the great work!!
not sure, I like the story line towards the end of the book. Would have been better to have a better brighter story for the two women. I do love these books and hope we don't have to wait too long
Surprisingly there is no death in this episode, although the emotional interplay (for me) is a distraction. The resolution and aftermath was uncharacteristically optimistic and a delightful, refreshing departure.
Who is the mystery guy trying to emulate his mentor,? Will Parker and Miranda really retire? What about Fanuzzi? Are she and Miranda going to work things out?
I love the mystery behind the story. I recommend the book to anyone who loves a good mystery book. Lindsey has a very creative mind and I love her style of writing. I wish we didn’t have to wait so long for a new story!,
I didn't review until the last book was read because I couldn't stop reading them. I loved ever heart stopping adventure and cried along with the characters(my friends) along the way as well as rejoiced with them. I'm going to miss them so much! Thanks Linsey!
I really liked this book. Have read all 17 books in 6 weeks as they are very hard to put down. Easy to read and keeps you guessing throughout the book. Only two more books left to finish the series.
Each book gets better and better, they have had me on the edge of my seat and staying up until 3-4 in the morning because I just had to know what happened next.
