I might as well say it from the get go, this is a 4 (maybe 4.5) star book, but I'm giving it five stars. I absolutely loved this book, and although the ending was pretty predictable, for the most part I found it to be quite well written. As I have said before, I truly believe Mila Gray's writing gets better with each book in this series. Come Back to Me started as a cute, but incredibly cliche and tropey romance, but since that book I've found Mila Gray's writing to have advanced quite a bit. The romance is equally as cute as that first book, but it feels more natural and less trope dependant (although who knows, maybe it's just tropes I like now, so I'm noticing it less). She has also gotten better and better at incorporating strong messages into her novels. This book dealt with an abundance of social issues, some which are a bit harder to empathize with, like the struggles of fame, but Mila Gray also presents a lot that are deeply relatable, such as what it's like to struggle with mental illness and/or self esteem issues, the way women are bombarded with criticism on social media, how men in positions of power get away with sexual assault, and so much more. Overall, I really loved this book, and this series as a whole. The romantic aspects were super cute and easy to get invested in/root for, and the more serious elements of these books were equally, if not better, written. I'd absolutely recommend this series to anyone looking for a good (albeit fairly predictable) romance. These books make for great beach reads!
